- So this is the first time i've beaten this game after starting playing it a few days prior. The furthest i got before that was level 3 just before the very end. Anyways this is a decent mystery platformer game. Has repeated music though and pretty meh platforming controls. On level 1 I ound out if you dont die in the pit (or maybe at all?) velma won't appear in the right spots after the first mini game on that level. This wastes about 3-4 minutes having to search for her instead of her being in the right spots. My only death in this game was to the werewolf on level 2, I didn't have much health and he spawned right when I went into a new area. Nothing I could do about that. Pretty good run in the end though, needed a walkthrough for the last level since i'd never played it.
Never got passed level 1 was to confusing for me as a kid but man I would play this for hours and love every min of it ❤️ I was so in love with scooby doo this brings back so many great memories how life was simple back then …
me too I never beaten the first level
Same here. Couldn’t pass first level
Me too i played this so much and could never get far, so nostalgic.
Lmao sameeeee
It took me a min to beat the third level. I'm just happy I beat it as a kid
I remember this game being so fucking confusing to play as a kid. The gameplay is just so different compared to most games that came out around that time.
im not even a big scooby doo fan but i had this game for some reason dont remeber how i got it but it was pretty fun but i never beat it lol
Seriously!
Try to be non English speaker as a kid and It will be more confusing.
Reminds me of SOS
I think my cousins let me borrow this for a few months and it used to frustrate me so much as a 6 year old. I never got far but it seemed like a cool game. I remember picking up that pushcart, and that jerk bird in the first minute or two of gameplay. The bird would kick my ass every time. Actually I don't think I ever got past the first level. I'd just get mad and play Super Mario or donkey kong country 2 instead lol
This game is so cryptic, I keep finding myself coming back to this video to see what the heck I'm supposed to do.
I was a kid when I played,it's hard to figure out what we have to do
@@LucasHenrique-fu9ok I was having a hard ass time with level 1 as a kid
I remember hating this game as a kid because I could never get past the first room. I never grabbed the trolley so I just got spooked to death or something, seeing the pirate guy get bowled over so easy is a trip to see.
I'm on the same page with u on that
Hahaha. So true
I Love How This Game Has The Scooby-Doo Where Are You Background Music In It I even love how it uses the alternative theme song that was composed by Ted Nichols during the title screen and it also plays during the 1st cutsence when you first start the game
loved it
every single sound effect makes me so nostalgic
indeed
Love, love, love this game. Every bit of nostalgia coming alive watching this WOW
its tradition to watch I know btw if u haven't subbed to my channel come on down
I had this when i lived with my grandma
No you didn’t, this game wasn’t out back then
@@bearzdlc2172 yeah it barely came out in 2015 that’s when I remember it coming out on ps1
You still live with your grandma don’t lie
Me 2 …. I had it on the old SNES shit was mad hard as a kid
This game got me through my childhood
same here couldnt beat the first level
This game confused my sister and I too as kids, though that was also largely because our TV was so old it didn't display all the colors correctly, and was so dark we couldn't make out certain key elements well enough to even tell what was a door, or pit, or clue. Love that someone posted a walkthrough video like this.
this unearthed forbidden memories
doesn't seem forbidden to me
the first level is downright iconic, they nailed the music!
Survival horror in 1995 lol
with some comedy
Fact: Argonaut were the original makers of Star Fox and Nintendo's first developer for 3D games in the early 90's! :D
I loved this game
me too
My mom and I used to play this with Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday.
Same here. I still have both games
I miss those days
God I want this in the switch collection so bad, but it seems like such a... _insignificant_ and underrated title next to the general populations faves that it'll just never be considered.
I want my normal life back I'll do anything.
I know
i remember being stuck at the circus level. never touched the game again after that. i was a little sad though because i love scooby doo.
that's a shame I never touched it cuz of level 1
This game always confused the hell outa me, hence why I wanna see someone actually beat it. Did nine yr olds actually figure this out back then?
I was about 7 or 8 when it came out. Only made it halfway through the circus. My 14 year old cousin at the time was able to finish it
I beat it when I was 10
I beat it when I was around 6 or 7. And to believe my obstacle that took years to figure out was that I should have shown Velma the teddy bear. I discovered it by talking to her when the teddy was in front.
@@MrBlaze256 how? u must be lucky
I had this game as a kid, got stuck for the longest until I found out years later.
Wow all these years of playing it with my little cousin and we could never get passed the third level because we would always use the codes and when I see this game passed 20 years later on youtube all we get is a “congratulations”...... the nostalgia was awesome thou. Lol
I couldn't even get through the first level
I remember playing this as a child, I fucking loved it... I don't think I ever beat it though.
played a little bit of it never beaten the first level
This game was so confusing for me as a kid, furthest I got to was the circus lmao.
already I could tell the game was tough
My most frustrating childhood game. I could just not figure it out lol
I could say the same but I learn along the way and progressed.
@@EnchantedSmellyWolf I was really young this game is like a fever dream to me lol
wow, never played this. it sounds like the cartoon, too. thats actually pretty cool. by the time games like this came out, i had moved on to other games or systems, so, i missed a lot of hidden treasures like this.
I love how they started with the ORIGINAL theme song right off.
yeah its awesome
I just purchased a loose cartridge of this game just 5 hours ago at a little old store in Beechmont, Ohio for only $9.99! A steal compared to the $25 I saw this same game advertised everywhere else for just the cartridge! I've just gotta set up my SNES to my portable DVD player for my vacation trip to play it for the first time!
I just picked up yesterday from a small retro game store in WV for the same price. Kind of cool that neighboring states have the a similar market. I was playing it last night and got stuck on the truck at the circus, the exact same spot I got stuck on as a kid. Had to check out the video to see what to do. I figure it's okay to cheat a little after being stuck for 20 years haha
When i played this as i kid, i was genuinely afraid of it lol I'd say i played it around 1999 when i was 5 or 6. Crazy memory unlocked!!
The only time I ever wet the bed was when I was like 9 or 10 and had a dream that I was hiding from the werewolf from this game in that trailer that scooby and shaggy go into on the carnival level. Weird memories. Never beat this game lol
The werewolf legitimately scared me as a kid. I think because it's bigger than shaggy and the creepy crooked legs
@@richarddavis8863 never got to that part to be honest
I'll pay the rent in full every month I promise and keep it clean always.
you kid this is what i grew up with you gen zkids
Got stuck at the carnival part as a kid. Game was too scary for me back then. Great memories though
At least this version your partners give you clues on what to do. It's just that the levels are huge & you may not know where to go. Where as the Genesis one you'll know where to go but it won't give you clues to beat the game.
This game scared me when I was a kid. And I never understood how to play it at all lol
always took me forever to figure out a level for this
which one?
*I Remember Playing Scooby-Doo Mystery It Was Good But It's A Little Difficult To Beat*
Might be a Mandela effect but I remember there being another Scooby game on SNES. I know there’s the Genesis version but it’s not that one I’m thinking of…
Anyone else from a parallel universe here? Maybe you’ll know what I mean.
The first episode of this game the ghost had a fish in his left hand
You must the scuba gear and extra Scooby snack that you can sniff out on the ghost ship
How do you cycle through items? I never figured out how to move between items in my inventory and ended up giving up many times due to me having a useless item as the selected one. An example is the crate was selected but I needed to show Velma the map but I didn't know how to go through different items in my inventory and I had to reset because I couldn't put the crate down since that door wasn't unlocked yet.
Still have my copy to this day!
did ya beat it?
I don't remember anything about this game. I know I owned it, and I played it, but it's such a distant memory for me now.
Did they speed up scoobys reehehehe for the item pick up noises? If they did that pretty cook
Much appreciated video!!!!
I always get stuck on the slide level on stage 2 in my childhood. I never got past it.
speak for urself I couldn't beat the first level
I miss the hell outta this game wish so bad still has console and game it was pure bliss this and Batman wish they’d reproduce some of these for consoles like ps4/5 but if anything it would be on the switch platform I’m now 32 and I just don’t know many games in my opinion that beat one of these ole classics
I can't believe I beat this game as a kid with no help
Said no one ever
Same here i beat this in middle school. Its all common sense
does anyone knows if there's another scooby game with the same atmosphere and that uses classic scooby's ost like this?
Thank you all for helping me sorry for Flippin out.
Still own the copy. It got me to learn to pay attention to background check.
The real mystery is what did you find out?
its just like the show
How powerful was shaggy in this game before he gained his ultra shaggy form lol
Old guy here. I got nuzlocked in the first level. 😑
Tá aí um game confuso da minha infância...
in english please?
I never understood this confusing game.
How do you pick up items in this game?
Pressing up remedial
Great 😊
I promise.
I got to level 2, but then I got stuck.
I couldn't beat level 1
This game scoobdoo is RPG?
not sure
Did you have to upload this in 240P? You couldn't do 1080P/720P or even 480P?
Did you have to bitch and complain? You couldn't just accept this game play like a normal person?
@@blind_surgeon You little Bitch! I'm just stating a reality. Watching in 240P is not even standard definition.
@thee_3arthgod Homophobe!
1:12 Did Fred not see that ghost?
Only dogs can see heeheheeh
I saw that 35:41 the game cheated in order to make you lose a life on purpose!
The game doesn't purposely make you lose a life.
Okay after watching this video, this game isn't really a good game. The graphics are decent, but I'm not sure with the actual gameplay? It seems really odd. Not a normal/standard side scrolling adventure game. Maybe it gets better as it goes? Maybe? I'm wondering what other viewers opinions of this game are? Is it worthwhile to get for a Retro game? I'm NOT getting the games for a mint in package collection. I'm getting these retro games to play them, to enjoy them. Obviously if I come across a "unopened" game that's worth a lot of money? I'll probably keep it sealed MIP. But the odds of that nowadays are miniscule. So of anyone has any thoughts about this game, any thoughts? About the gameplay? The controls, the "plot" of the game? I'd really appreciate any feedback, ideas, thoughts, both positive and negative thoughts are welcomed. Thanks in advance for your help, support, and information about this game. Please if you have any other suggestions as far as games go, please don't hesitate to add those thoughts as well. I grew up during these games heyday, but I didn't have them all. Nor do I know about them all. So again thank you in advance. Take care and God Bless. Be safe and enjoy life!
Your comment is a year old but I'll answer anyways. I had this game growing up and going back it, it's an extremely bog-standard platformer with fetch-quest elements. You play as Shaggy and Scooby and your attack is tied to item so you can't attack unequipped. Some attack weapons can be used indefinitely like the hammer of Level 2, but most are throwable items (fish, melons, sticks, etc.) that have a limited number of ammo and the game doesn't keep track of how much you have left. All the throwable items are thrown in an awkward arch that have to line up with where the enemies will be to hit them.
The other 3 members of Mystery Inc. just sorta wonder around the stage not doing anything unless prompted too. Daphne hands out one Scooby Snack per area that can regain health. Velma is one you give all of clue items to so she can piece together the mystery and advance further in the levels. Fred is sometimes required to open another area if you give him the right items. One door on Level 1 requires matches and a keg of TNT, you need to get two pieces of wielding equipment in Level 2 so he take the lock off... a big top tent. Fred's other purpose is planning a trap for the level's main villain at the end of each level. Give him the items he needs and then use yourself as bait to lure the villain into the trap.
One of my biggest peeves with the game is that you can get all the items for the trap earlier than Fred asks but the game won't let you pick some of them up. If you try to pick them up before, Shaggy will just tell Scooby that the item is unimportant. This creates some artificial backtracking that wouldn't need to exist if the game would let you pick them up the first time. The only level you can pick up all the trap items before Fred give you the plan is Level 3 but there's a catch. You need two of the items (a fan and a generator) to get to another section but if forget to pick them back up you're better off resetting the game. There's a hard platform section in the middle of the stage that's practically impossible to backtrack thru and re-retrieve the items if you forgot them. Every level has at least one tricky platforming section. The jump controls and hitboxes can be wonky before you get the hang of it.
My other big problem with the game are the hidden items. Some items are hidden and can only Scooby sniffing them out (hold X while walking). Most hidden items are clue items for Velma to progress further in the level. Until you've memorized where all the hidden items are, you have give each section of the level a sniff over which can only be done at normal walking speed.
Only 4 levels, no secrets that aren't already mandatory for beating a level, and awkward platform control. One you've beaten the game, there's no real reason to go back it unless there was something that just really grabbed your attention. Hope this helps and God Bless!
The game glitch on me with the swamp monster soon as he popped up he never chased me and just stood in frame running. He didnt kill me or did damage even when im walking pass him so i had to restart the damn level again lol. They made the black character at the end. Sounds racist 😂
Jesus Christ loves you
