Fern! I am so happy you made this video!! I was the one who requested an updated hanging plant video. The first video I ever watched of yours was your hanging plant video at your old apartment and was hooked to your channel since. It is cool seeing how some of your plants look now compared to a couple of years ago.
The Hoya Walliniana UT-152, rat tail & fern leaf cactus and your linearis😭😭 ommmmg so beautiful!!!! Love this video & LOVE hanging plants! Your collection is to die for as always🩷
I LOVE hanging plants… I have been collecting them since day one. I have a full “curtain” of string of things, all in the exact same, matching pots. I love it.
I’m not sure what you use to fertilize your Hoya, but if you want them to bloom quicker and/or more regularly I highly recommend fertilizing with orchid fertilizer every time you water
At 22:52 I straight up paused the video and went into my kitchen because I couldn’t remember what I microwaved or thought maybe it was the coffee machine …until I came back and remembered you said you were heating up some lunch 😂😂 love your trailing plants Fern!! ❤️🌱
one day, i too will have big windows for my hanging plants. this is me manifesting it out into the universe via your comments lol i genuinely loved this video, your collection is swoon-worthy 💚
Everyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for hanging plants 😅 I enjoyed this video so much Fern! my linearis is almost 8 feet long and I just found a peduncle with buds on the end of one of the vines! First one!!! Hoping yours does the same soon! I always tell my husband if there’s ever a fire or emergency grab my linearis! It’s my favorite plant I’ve ever owned.
Gorgeous plants! The hoyas in particular look stunning. The solanum uleanum is lovely, I have never heard of it before but have now added it to my wishlist
The Hoya compacta is a slow grower at least for me. I was so happy when mine extended four of the five “arms” it had. They reached the stage where they started bent over the edge of the pot. Then it got mealies. I couldn’t clear it with all the folds it also just started getting wrinkly and flat. I couldn’t water it enough to get it to fill out. I ended up throwing it away. And since mealies still pop up every now and then. I don’t want to bring one into the house
I love your trailing plants! My favorites were the hoya linearis, rhipsalis paradoxa, and hoya wilbur graves ❤. Stunning! Thank you for sharing! Also, congrats on 150k subscribers!!
That Solanum is fantastic! I've never gotten one because I've read they need HIGH humidity, in the 80% or above, and I cannot provide that, even with humidifiers on. I considered making space in my plant cabinet...but there are other plants that have priority. I'm surprised you're growing yours in an open room, in the PNW, and that it looks so good in the middle of winter. I might've to reconsider, because I ADORE plants with DARK-DARK foliage.
Anthuriums are the same where they require lots of humidity... but in most cases, if you're checking the boxes for watering requirements, lighting and fertilizing... you can get away with ambient humidity just fine! you should try it 🌿
I have a tiny David cummingii, and i wasn't sure about it, but now that you say it smells like caramel, i now think i love it and can't wait for it to grow. It was 2 leaves for the longest time, and it just started growing in the past few months.
I love that you put chapters! 🎉 I have problems with my hands, so I can't easily skip about in a video without them. Aside from that...i need more windows so i can have more hanging plants!
Love the Easter cactus and Christmas cactus combo idea, get a thanksgiving cactus in there too and you might be able to get 6 months of flowers out of it
30:36 Maybe you could move it to the opposite side of the curtain rod by the tv? It seem like there is a bunch of air space in that corner. Or what about the inner part of the rods where the wall in the middle of the windows? I think it would hang nicely there.
I have a big paradoxa and grow it in an east facing window and it grows fine! I think they usually get shaded by the canopy in the jungle so they don’t need direct sunlight.
I’ve chopped and propped my linearis. And they are rooting already, within two weeks. My linearis is over four feet tall and it’s only one branch where the vines come from it just grows and grows. I cut off up to a foot off the longest vines because it was trailing in the floor.
Stunning plants!! As to the string of pearls I heard from Sarah the Plant Rescuer that in the wild it doesn’t grow like that but as a floor covering or hillside covering it was interesting as many people grow it hanging. I’ve never had luck with it. I have a disco ball planter but I have no idea what to put in it💚🌸
Oh your Hoya Bella is just beautiful!! I just can’t seem to grow it😢. I purchased a fuller pot hoping I could have some luck with that - but it just keeps dropping leaves and it’s such a pest magnet!! It’s under a grow light- I haven’t repotted it since I purchased it in the spring. Any tips would be so helpful! Thanks for your wonderful videos- you are my favorite RUclipsr !!
Hey Fern, I would love to see your Hoya that you let trail, being a big Hoya collector myself I always love to see which ones people trellis or let go wild!
I love your trailing plants so much!! My Compacta is so small still, I’ve had her for maybe 6-8 months and only a couple weeks ago did she finally start growing for me! My linearis is also so small, just one strand with maybe 10 leaves 🥲 Hope both of mine grow as big as yours one day.
Your Fern leaf cactus is amazing. I would totally install a hook in the ceiling for it! I use a stud finder to get hooks into the studs for stability. In my area studs are spaced every 16 inches. The screw part of the hooks need to have enough depth to get through the drywall and then into the wood frame. I got mine from the brand peerless at Walmart. I don't know what your home construction is like, but hopefully that helps. I love all your plants. These are stunning ✨🧚🏻♀️🌞🌈🌟🌿💛
I haven’t gotten farther than the Ad, but I literally just bought a Helix and a Brooklinen sheet set because of your past videos! (I think I used a link 😬) I’m loving it currently but I’ve only had it for less than a week
real talk but how do you keep your curtain rod from falling out of the wall? my curtain rods are anchored but they rip out of the wall all the time from the weight of my plants
I spray one side of terracotta pots with clear coat sealant type spray so they don't dry out as fast. But I don't hang big ones because I want to avoid disaster. I'm waiting for spring to order a pallidiflorum. I'm in Idaho, it would freeze in transit. I'm also coveting the ripsalus you have. Been doing research. Love seeing you collection! Good job!
I was surprised that my Hoya linearis bloomed for me within it's first year in my care. Mine is not particularly big and I don't even supplement it with artificial light over the winter. However, during the fall my apartment got a little chill before the building management turned on the heat and that drop in temperature seems to have done the trick! It seems like Hoya linearis, like phalaenopsis orchids need a little temperature drop in order to prompt blooming!
My goal is to have a crimson queen as big and lush as yours. I’m willing to wait 😊. Hoya compacta is also one of my favorites. Mine bloomed for me the first time this summer.
42:18 it just occurred to me that the Soltechs might be too much for the maranta? I wonder if you put her a bit lower on the wall if she would do better? Just a thought. Mine currently are being sucked dry by flat mites so, who am I to give advice? 😅 I do know the first maranta I had was killed by too much light. And or spider mites. 😂Love this video though. I just love hanging plants. 🪴💚
And the sun planter, it will get wet and fall again, ask me how I know. Get some waterproof jute, chains, etc to replace it. So pretty, don’t let it smash.
Curious about where the colorful sheets and duvet came from? The peachy and rusty brown ones. Everything I see is white/beige/grey/light blue . Thanks .
I broke one of my book water prop containers yesterday by putting isopropyl alcohol in it and accidentally dissolving the adhesive that held it together. Lesson learned lol

The first video I ever watched of yours was your hanging plant video at your old apartment and was hooked to your channel since. It is cool seeing how some of your plants look now compared to a couple of years ago.
Could you make a video about the plants you have which you don’t see many other people growing?
Fern says the plant is rude because a plant didn’t flower 😂😂😂 live it!
🤭
I'm always so excited when I see the notification for your videos 🎉❤

I LOVE hanging plants… I have been collecting them since day one. I have a full “curtain” of string of things, all in the exact same, matching pots. I love it.
Beautiful plants, love your hoya compacta 😍
I’m not sure what you use to fertilize your Hoya, but if you want them to bloom quicker and/or more regularly I highly recommend fertilizing with orchid fertilizer every time you water
Now that I see your fern leaf cactus so big, I tink I need to into the pulley things for my two story tall ceiling area for it.
At 22:52 I straight up paused the video and went into my kitchen because I couldn’t remember what I microwaved or thought maybe it was the coffee machine …until I came back and remembered you said you were heating up some lunch 😂😂 love your trailing plants Fern!! ❤️🌱
😂😂 thank you!!
Could hang the fern leaf cactus from the ceiling in the upper window so it’s not in your way. Like a leafy chandelier
Oh I love this idea
Your hanging plants 🌱 are gorgeous 🫶🏽💪🏽
one day, i too will have big windows for my hanging plants. this is me manifesting it out into the universe via your comments lol i genuinely loved this video, your collection is swoon-worthy 💚
Hello dear Fern that was stunning I really eager to see your report video for Hoyas😊😍👌
Hi Fern. I have a big rhipsalis paradoxa. I grow it in my south facing window and she loves it :)
Oh great!! Glad to hear this :)
Everyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for hanging plants 😅 I enjoyed this video so much Fern! my linearis is almost 8 feet long and I just found a peduncle with buds on the end of one of the vines! Good afternoon Fern. This seems like an exciting video to watch.
Gorgeous plants! The hoyas in particular look stunning. The solanum uleanum is lovely, I have never heard of it before but have now added it to my wishlist
Ok now I want to put more effort into my own trailing plants 😂 your massive hoyas are absolute *chefs kiss*
I love hanging plants so much! 🥰🌱 Thanks for the video!

Geez Fern, you can skip the gym after hefting those plants! Goals
inspiration to get some new plants 🌿🌿🪴🪴
I have a tiny David cummingii, and i wasn't sure about it, but now that you say it smells like caramel, i now think i love it and can't wait for it to grow. It was 2 leaves for the longest time, and it just started growing in the past few months.
So many great hanging options!
The wallininiana is stunning and has so many blooms on it.
I love that you put chapters! 🎉 I have problems with my hands, so I can't easily skip about in a video without them. Aside from that...i need more windows so i can have more hanging plants!
Agree I love it when things are labelled in videos, it’s so much easier for me to follow along
I wish I could get my crimson queen to look like that! I’ve had her for years and she’s barely done anything.
I love Scindapsus Exotica. The leaves are so beautiful.
Your trailing plants are so beautiful. ❤
Your Crimson Queen inspired me to get one ! Found the perfect variegation one at a Big Box store!
Love the Easter cactus and Christmas cactus combo idea, get a thanksgiving cactus in there too and you might be able to get 6 months of flowers out of it

Ooo I hope mine doesn’t scorch 🙈 I’ll have to keep a close eye, thank you!!
I’ve chopped and propped my linearis. And they are rooting already, within two weeks. My linearis is over four feet tall and it’s only one branch where the vines come from it just grows and grows. I cut off up to a foot off the longest vines because it was trailing in the floor.
Beautiful tour, Thank you!
I wish we were neighbors 😊. You are amazing.
😊 thank you
Great video and energy Fern :)
Thank you 😁
With the lipstick plant I’d take cuttings so that when you repot it in the Wally grow it will be fuller.
Stunning plants!! As to the string of pearls I heard from Sarah the Plant Rescuer that in the wild it doesn’t grow like that but as a floor covering or hillside covering it was interesting as many people grow it hanging. I’ve never had luck with it. I have a disco ball planter but I have no idea what to put in it💚🌸
The fern leaf has got to be your biggest plant in the window
Love it ! Love hanging plants so informative I really appreciate you
Thankyou
I’ve never seen a soleneim plenum before it’s really beautiful.
I’ve got a disco ball planter just sitting on the table in my kitchen on my potting table.
The pests definitely love them 😩 I’d check for flat mites too. It could be dropping leaves from them!
your hoya linearis is goals 🙌
Hoya - Crimson Queen. What a beauty!!!😍
Hey Fern, I would love to see your Hoya that you let trail, being a big Hoya collector myself I always love to see which ones people trellis or let go wild!

Perfect timing as one of my friends new to plants is currently wanting to add some hanging ones!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ hanging plants are best!!!!

I love all your plants. These are stunning ✨🧚🏻♀️🌞🌈🌟🌿💛
Love the video, wow what a beautiful collection! I was thinking that maybe your Maranta is getting too much light?
Maybe 😩😩
For the fern leaf when it does the weird growth I noticed it’s when that new grow does not get alot of light
Love me some hanging plants - wanting to up my game. Also in my overalls era - where are yours from?!?❤❤
They’re from lucyandyak.com/ - love all their overalls!
Loved this!!! ❤
Are you going to chop and prop the two rhipsalas you just showed to get fuller pops.
Fern! If you HAD to pick one, which would it be???
Hoya compacta or Hoya linearis?? 😊
Apparently, they are BOTH your all time favourite Hoya.
I haven’t gotten farther than the Ad, but I literally just bought a Helix and a Brooklinen sheet set because of your past videos! (I think I used a link 😬) I’m loving it currently but I’ve only had it for less than a week
Omg no way!! Yesss you’re going to be sleeping well ☁️🌝😴
real talk but how do you keep your curtain rod from falling out of the wall? my curtain rods are anchored but they rip out of the wall all the time from the weight of my plants
I don’t even know 😳 it was already installed when we moved in. I feel like I’m really pushing the limit with it though lol
Hello! Can you do a video from your Anthurium Vittariflorum. I lost one, and I want an other. What did you do to keep it? Thanks
Mine had a fungal issue that I treated with sulphur. That and I potted it in the Molly’s Aroid Mix and it’s been super happy since then!
Yeay! Can't wait to watch! ❤🎉
yayyy enjoy Kenia
Any tips for a hoya carnosa guys?
Beautiful 😊❤

gracias amiga

It is definitely worth the wait :) & that's so exciting, love the compacta blooms!
nice linearis
🤩🤩
Maybe you could trim your fern leaf cactus? As I say that I realize how hard that would be to do 😬😬😬
My inner variegated grows as fast as my regular green ones. And for me they always seems to attract thrips 😫
42:18 it just occurred to me that the Soltechs might be too much for the maranta? I wonder if you put her a bit lower on the wall if she would do better? Just a thought. I have the exotica but it’s in a long vine. I guess it needs more light.
Do you still have your variegated Hoya compacta ?
No :( they were sooo difficult for me
And the sun planter, it will get wet and fall again, ask me how I know. Get some waterproof jute, chains, etc to replace it. So pretty, don’t let it smash.
I had the same problem, the cord rotted because it touched the wet soil and one day the pot dropped!
I looked up the ufo planter and they only show a black checked option and it’s sold out.
My Hoya compacta recently started getting brown spots on it. I really don't think it's pests. What could it be?
It’s lighter on the left side more light then the right
Your linearis amazes me. How big was she when you got her??
Just a small cutting when I first got it :) but that was 4-5 years ago
You can try to grow a neon pothos again
Curious about where the colorful sheets and duvet came from? The peachy and rusty brown ones. Everything I see is white/beige/grey/light blue . Thanks .
I broke one of my book water prop containers yesterday by putting isopropyl alcohol in it and accidentally dissolving the adhesive that held it together. Lesson learned lol
