As a Honda R&D engineer in Ohio it's great to hear everyone enjoying the new Type-S. If you're ever worried about the build quality in your American built Acura/Honda just remember every modern NSX and Type S NSX is built in PMC, about 200 ft away from where this is built at MAP.
The exhaust was developed after the Type R, savagegeese had a story about that, and we knew this was the last ICE car we're going to develop, so the best and most passionate engineers here worked on this new Type-S. BEVs are our main focus now, and this is the ICE swan song, glad you enjoyed driving it

Looks like Honda did a great job with this. Thank you for parsing the differences between this and the CTR. It looks better to me than the FL5. Certainly sounds better. I still like the wild styling, seats, hatch and tail happy behavior of my FK8. But everything else favors the S . Especially the exhaust, ride, and individual modes. Okay, I have 2 more mph on the quoted top end- 169 vs 167. Yeah, that comes up on every drive. Interesting to see that the Acura Type S got the same rear seat design budget as the Honda Type R: zero.
But with FL5s going for $10K + over MSRP $50K for the Teggy looks good.

Also it does look a bit generic and boaty compared to the FK8 but the one I've seen in person looked like an absolute unit behind me and had all sorts of presence. FK8 is a bit boy racer, but on a lot of days, I really love the look of them. Especially in Boost Blue and Championship White. It would be a daily as well so not worried about cooling too much. I believe the later model years of the FK8 had improved cooling as well so that would likely be enough for me. Thanks!

I really don't see the hype when it is a second slower than even a 5th gen camaro v6 manual. if its supposed to be fun to drive why did they put such a slow engine in it?

I drive a Kia Stinger GT now, Fiesta ST for 3 years prior. This car looks like it’d split the difference between these two cars, which imo makes it appealing.
Price with this car will be an issue - Integra name means a ton to enthusiasts for cheap performance - this certainly aint cheap. But, nothing is these days - inflation sucks. Is it worth $50-55K? It’s steep but consider the german cars at that price. None will be as good to drive, imo none are as good looking, and none have much more luxury at this $$. This is also, point to point, faster than most in a non track environment.
For the price i actually think it’s one of the most compelling new cars on sale today. Just don’t buy them after markup at $65-75K 😂

It's pretty fast. I like how you can get over 60 in 2nd. I wish they made a SH-AWD version. The TLX Type S is $5k more, has SH-AWD, but the 3L turbo kind of sucks at only 30 more HP for an entire 1L more displacement. If the TLX was as efficient as the 2 pop in the integra, it should make 480hp (160hp/L). IMO, the TLX is a waste of money and resources and would thus not buy it. I'd take the Integra type S.
