I think this video captures an emotional look into the everlasting left-over, pieces of war but as well, the toll it takes not just on the environment but also the generations that are to follow, that will learn and continue to carry throughout history the knowledge of mankind and his quest for power and the reason there will never be a world of true happiness free from the destruction created from the curiosity of man. The Cranberries is my favorite band. I will always carry them in my heart until my last day on earth, because their songs are so beautiful and passionate that they make me feel good the moment we listen to them. The Cranberries to infinity and beyond.
Listening to this song again for the first time since I was a young teen. It's brought me to tears. Holy shit. I never knew what the actual message was until today. Such a powerful song.
@Paige Arbogast Well, it's up to you how you'd like to interpret it, as there's an "official" purpose for the song dealing w/violence in Ireland. But if you don't put it in that context, it's applicable to all war. Basically, the average person views war as this vicarious "oh, they're over there fighting" kinda thing. Average folks don't talk about it & when they do it's dismissive of reality. The "zombie" is the fact that, in your head, you think of these humans fighting in a war when reality is you should consider them likely dead as that's how serious you should treat war. These dead soldiers are no longer with us, but in your head, they are still fighting. It's sick that we all think of war so dismissively. It's heartless & I'm ashamed of myself for not noticing this about myself sooner. I will NEVER allow my children to sign up to be in the military
I knew right away, but I’m an American with Irish heritage and like history. I remember a coworker in the nineties complaining about the harsh sounds. I told him it’s about the fighting in Ireland, he said surely they could do it without being hard on his ears. Of course I like the song, so my feelings were “whatever”.
@@mountainguyed67 That person sounds like a douche. This song is a masterpiece. Perhaps the pain coming through loud & clear isn't something they could handle.
Говорят, что если человек спас одну жизнь - это счастливый человек. Долорес этой песней остановила войну и спасла столько жизней, что хватит не на одну жизнь. Сейчас она на небесах и поет Богу свои песни.
We are hurting! How do we find each other. How do we get “Home”together? We can’t do it alone! Who out there has the courage? Who is strong and defiant enough to claim the dignity which is their rightful inheritance? Who is willing to try? You are not who they say you are. Human…son of God…know thyself.

Not even close to be in the Hall of fame 😂
TKZ thank you!!!
Heard this a few times on the radio before I was at a mates house - and it was his mam and dad that were playing it. I instantly knew this was one for everyone of all ages. Absolute classic. Timeless quality.
Well said
The quality is indeed timeless, shamefully the message as well.
Probably the best Irish song ever ☘️
❤
I cry every time I listen to this song and I play it everyday on the way to work. Makes me appreciate everything! Love you guys
You don’t alone!

Why though? I heard it for the first time today and broke. It was randomly playing
As long as I live, I will carry that torch, I never truly experienced the full range of suffering, but I’ve had a good taste - and from that I’ve formed my will and courage. Thank you for this masterpiece. Never to be forgotten.

hate to ruin it for you but this song is abou the IRA's fight
@@BluPotato I know that... still a great song.

Can we go back to the 90’s?
Dont think Northern Ireland is keen on going back to the 90s
@@cheddarcheeseisgood8030 Indeed. I feel a bittersweet nostalgia for the time I first listened to this song, yet knowing the context and subject matter of it, that becomes hard to reconcile.

It describes more than one historical event. Violence is all over the World all the time.
Thank you Korean zombie
Great song in a wonderful voice. Dolores wrote a wonderful song that reflects the total suffering of all the people during war. A really well done video. Congrats TheCranberriesTV
Not really, the song tells off freedom fighters, calling them delusional zombies.
@@bri1085 Yeah man the kingsmill massacre really helped with the freedom didn't it
Delores was an original that is unreplacable. No one could do it like her. I wish she was still with us. She is dearly missed
Dolores died of cáncer :(
@@adriancarrilloherrera7804 She accidentally drowned in a bathtub while intoxicated. She didn't die of cancer. Unless alcoholism is considered a metaphorical cancer.
Song is so good, the stuff she singing about was a very rough time for Ireland. If u don't feel something when u hear this song ur probably.

rose-coloured lenses will do that to you. the 90s were actually pretty dismal for music. 1964-1974 was the golden age

The Korean Zombie..

As the world awakens, this song hits different. Cranberries were canceled for trying to wake up the masses. Everyone is watching & not being zombies anymore
The Cranberries is my favorite band. I will always carry them in my heart until my last day on earth, because their songs are so beautiful and passionate that they make me feel good the moment we listen to them. The Cranberries to infinity and beyond.
Its so sad and heavy when y know loss
rock on
Me too

@zombie zombie p
@@hotchkissrecords beautifully said.
@@hotchkissrecords Possibly. Dismissive person, just like the song is referring to.
Multiple levels of meaning just leave me gutted 😭
Говорят, что если человек спас одну жизнь - это счастливый человек. Долорес этой песней остановила войну и спасла столько жизней, что хватит не на одну жизнь. Сейчас она на небесах и поет Богу свои песни.

We are hurting! How do we find each other. How do we get “Home”together? We can’t do it alone! Who out there has the courage? Who is strong and defiant enough to claim the dignity which is their rightful inheritance? Who is willing to try? You are not who they say you are. Human…son of God…know thyself.
