- South African rugby persists in thinking excellence on the pitch will solve issues of funding, corruption, power in the headquarters of rugby, and a fair shake. We also wishcast instead of forecast what our relative power will be if we await the perfect deal and spurn the good on the table, chasing under the table instead of a bit of sun. Harry the Rugby Fixer takes an independent view of the way out, using his own life, wandering in desolate places with bandits and no food, but taking what he could get and moving on: this episode will make you think again.

SA Rugby Equity Deal: Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk (or run) away!
Wow Harry just WOW, you are so inspiring thank you.
Cheers Sue
Show me where private equity has worked in rugby.
We first have to decide (a) what “worked” means (b) if the status quo is working (and will into the future given currency + being left out of the cash issues) and (c) if rugby per se is meaningfully different than other sports which have skyrocketed value.
Interesting perspective!
It’s all I got 😂
I love these confessions
🎉
$75m for a 20% equity stake of the SARU CRC (Commercial Rights Company) equates to a Springbok brand valuation of around R6.5Bn or $375m😊We should be at potential valuation of somewhere in the region of $3Bn-$6Bn+😊
So sad my posts dissapear. The truth can not be stopped luckily. Have a great Sunday evening.
love your adventures
trouble finds me
I think there's a lot to learn from US sport about experience. And also data. For example, rugby unions don't hold the data of the people who buy tickets. And they don't market back to those people. There are basic things they could be doing to grow revenue.
still an amateur sport making and losing some money to break even at best, not a professional sport multiplying brand/market
Well don't sign something you have no clue how it works, look for reviews and examples just learn what happened to silver lakes n all blacks deal
Can we look forward to a new work in the nonfiction genre, perhaps titled Reminiscences of a rugby fixer
Or in fact, in the fiction section 😊
The non fiction is better
Ok but my understanding is no one know who ASG is or what they have done? And also the $75m is only a loan? And ASG would've had a controlling vote? Pls tell me what I am misunderstanding.
Don’t sell Bok rights, lease for a term. no national team should ever be for sale. Sell TV rights at a higher price, but just don’t sell the Boks.
