When I visited pt. Reyes years ago I had a thought that I imagined this is what all of California looked like a few hundred years ago. I am so glad that the state along with the national park service and department of the interior made a concerted effort to keep the seashore natural and wild in that part of the state for all to enjoy. Most definitely one of my favorite places . Looking forward to getting back there.
thanks for another great vid. I passed you on the coast as I came down to SD. I play your videos in my van when I’m getting my day going, or winding it down. You’re a great vanlife neighbor to have 😂
Terrific video. I loved the walk. Very cool. I always WAnt coffee after watching you, but I watch your videos before night sleep! Slug bug. 😐. All the huts, sweat lodge, very neat.
What a beautiful area. It does remind me a bit of home. Thanks for showing us around. Btw, I finally purchased an Aeropress. (birthday $$$ extravagance). It DOES make a good cupof coffee...as long as it's light roast. Enjoy the rain!
If you are going to be in Marin County there’s LOTS of places to see. San Rafael has China Camp with lots of trails and views of San Pablo Bay. There’s also St. Vincent’s Church still in use today. You can walk outside through the grounds and courtyards towards the back to again views of San Pablo Bay. What’s so nice about the whole grounds and buildings is the architecture and settings which was built in the 1850’s (I believe) and so to see the beautiful Spanish-style architecture is very calming in this setting. It is not a tourist destination and it has some small businesses housed in the outer blogs of the church. Fairfax has nice shops and a couple of cafes ☕️ but one of the best things about Fairfax is that it has great trails around Lake Lagunitas, Bon Tempe Lake and Alpine Lake- there all in the same area. You can walk around the whole lake. You do have to pay $5.00 entrance fee for the whole area but worth it. Though the drive to and around the park is somewhat hilly it’s more of gradual climb and pretty much levels out once you get into the park. Larkspur : There’s a Trader Joe’s and Cost Plus parking lot just off of Rte. 1. Well BEHIND the Cost Plus building is more parking spaces - not really used - but you can park there and walk to the marsh trails that take you along the San Pablo Bay. You can see San Quentin Prison from the trails. Larkspur/Greenbrae has a nice little shopping center with Peet’s and Starbucks (inside Mollie Stones. You can sit outside and watch all the Teslas drive by. I really think Southern Marin is the land of Teslas, there’s even a Tesla dealership in Corte Madera, next town over. Now if you wanted to meet up for a coffee I could show you where they filmed Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry scenes. lol. Ross: Phoenix Lake is beautiful and you can walk around the lake and there’s additional trails too. Tiburon has spectacular views of San Francisco across the water and Angel Island too. Sausalito is a nice town to visit. There’s a great spot for you to park in front of the public library and basketball court. Then walk further into town (5 minutes). Sausalito is right on the water with spectacular views of San Francisco, Alcatraz Island and Angel Island and the Tiburon Peninsula. There’s a small park called Dunphy but it’s been renovated and I haven’t been to see it yet. It’s right on the water. As to cafes, there is less of them now. But there’s still Cafe Trieste on Broadway Blvd. and you can sit outside. Sausalito: This is a great spot to look at the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco and an old, old reconverted army barracks/base too. It’s RIGHT next to the Children’s Discovery Museum in Sausalito. You could park all day, cook too and walk around to all the trails. Fabulous views- it’s not a tourist destination but it’s a gold mine of views. Don’t miss it. Obviously there’s more but one can only text so much before one gets tired (annoyed working on a IPHONE).😅 I hope you enjoy wherever you go in the SF Bay Area.😊
Enjoyed your video, as usual. The little hike you took, in the rain, was just perfect. I think I could feel the cool temp & a misty rain on my face walking along with you! Those deer were a special & beautiful treat to see. Really appreciated that added bonus on the little hike! Thanks again for this enjoyable video, & for sharing your day with us. I think I'm off now to go make a grilled cheese sandwich, on sourdough, for dinner. 😊
Scott what you can do to help when crossing a street at night is to have a flashlight that strobes. When you cross the street just point it down at the ground and strobe it as you walk across. Walking at night and not being visible is very dangerous.

Hoping to retrace my entire west coast trip this year, but at the pace of a camper. Can't wait to go. Thanks for this lovely share ~
True. I just relistened to the part where he reads the sign that says the horses may bite and cracked up, again, at the way he says, "well, that's just great"....too funny@@ShaunHall-i7e

@@StaticCamperVan I’ve been watching vanlifers for three years, planning and researching and I finally got to live it for a couple months - it was awesome! And I learned a ton from the experience.
You made it to my happy place, Pt. Reyes Station! I am glad you like it too. Next time you go, there’s really nice parking spots, quiet with really relaxing views of a former dairy farm with hills in the background. It’s very close to the Pt. Reyes Fire Station, one street over along side the fence of the farm. Check it out. Though I don’t know how much longer it will be there as I think this former dairy farm was bought by a developer to build 27 homes in the same spot. 😢

Yeah, I too used to get those L. Bars in the box at G.O., portable food that quickly satisfies hunger. And I'm finding the unsliced sour dough is the best tasting bread and freshest, just need a bread knife that's all. I'm now drinking 50/50, caffeinated/decaf, no more jitters. Yeah, the drive on Hwy 1 north to Fort Bragg is 'one of a kind', just watch out for the crows in Bodega Bay 'The Birds movie was filmed there', but you may be heading south ?....take care and safe travels !!
Lately I've been rolling up refried beans into a cigar shape.... I'll put them in a chicken roll up or whatever the meat is... add cheese... yellowbird Habanero the let it brown in a cast iron pan... rolling it over several times... probably 8 to 10 minutes. "Refried beans" as a base.
After almost eight years living out of this minivan I have found that it is almost the perfect size van for me. I don’t understand why I would want a bigger van.
I do have claustropobia in certain instances. Inside in a booth or riding in an elevator so I would need a bit or a lot (lol) more room to be comfortable. Thanks for sharing.

At first when I discovered you I was hesitant to carry on because of the politics on the west Coast but threw caution to the wind and here I am watching someone somewhat obsessed with coffee...lol I do love the smell of it brewing and I've grown to enjoy your point of view, your clever ability to cook good food in an amazingly small space and your endless galavanting up and down the west coast. Still a puzzle to me why you don't throw caution to the wind and venture east... I've spent my life (so far)on the east coast. Thanks for the ride.
Hello Scott, Your very consistant. The narriative is interesting and never disappoints followers. Youcbring is along to place many of us wouid never see and give such a close up look at it all. Have you checked your gearbox oil Scott, and the connections underneath, I used to restore old 40s and 50s American cars and a 57 Chevy i had was doing exactly the same. Had to pause you and make a coffee. First cup in 3 days. I've been drinking hot tea. I'm trying to go back to drinking black coffee. Got in the habit of adding heavy cream and I think it's causing histamine issues. Loved your content.
Hello! Thanks for another great video. I feel your pain about wasting money on the dark roast coffee. Is it possible to dilute it with some extra light roast beans to bring it back to more of a light roast flavor? Just a thought. As for the grilled cheese sandwiches, I've been a full time traveller for almost 10 years &, recently, I took a monthly Air BnB with a kitchen. Grilled cheese, with Mexican cheeses, have become my new foodie addiction! Lol! Today, I decided to make a pot of cauliflower soup. As the recipe progressed, I added some leftover purple cabbage. When it was cooked and blended, I ended up with a lovely creamy purple soup & a grilled cheese. It was a happy accident. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Hey Scott! Your content is absolutely fantastic, I look forward to every single video you put out! 😊 I've been thinking, could you possibly make a video exploring Stinson Beach and Bolinas? They're just a short drive from Point Reyes, and I think your perspective would make for an amazing watch! Keep up the awesome work!

Yeah, some of those towns up where you're at is what made us all say back in the 70's ( and some still say), 'ain't nothing like up north'. Glad to know for the most part it's Tesla free too. Down here in the end part of O.C they're everywhere. Curious thing though. The biggest thrift store around here, can't find good parking lately because of the Tesla shoppers. I figure they're still thrifty at heart at the end of the day, and the middle too.
Interesting Indian ruins. Hey, I know someone that has been known to enjoy Tasters Choice And Or Classico Instant Coffees. Im looking forward though to replenishing my supply of Fidalgo dark roast.
Look into the "go phones". They are the ones that people who buy minutes often buy. I've had really good luck with them. This one I have had for 3 years and the one before I had for 7 years. I get the best ones they sale. It is about a 1/3rd to a 1/4th of the price of the latest phone out.
Good to hear the phone is working well for you. I’m not sure the Go phones are a good choice for me as I would then need to buy a camera to record my videos

Had to look up the Ohlone. Wasn’t familiar with them. Thanks for mentioning them.
❤ Good Evening 🌆✨ Scott🌞I guess this is the rainy season! Its going t rain here in Ny. For 3 days straight 🙃 Your sour dough bread probley has to be grilled! With some Tomatoes 🍅 Nice trail👍Looks like Pioneer ing on Indian land👍It looks like a Mountain Lion had Dinner at the Hut! I think i read something about Cats leave a part of organ from their catch👍👌✌️🤞🙌🙏✝️💜🌟🇺🇸🤩
I've treasured yr videos for a good long time now, so am happy to be seeing my own stomping grounds thru yr eyes..thank you!
found myself wondering if you have any plans to explore the town of Bolinas if you are still in the area?
Wishing you safe and joyful travels ! (and maybe a new transmission soon?)
Thanks Lisa. This whole area was never a place I researched before. I hope to get around and see more of it.
Well , im hoping youll check out Bolinas..i think you just might enjoy its quirkiness..@@StaticCamperVan
On my third listen. Nice and relaxing. 😌
Thanks Glenn
See you travel all over it's making me think about leaving San Diego traveling as well. Never traveled on my own before to seeing how you gracefully cross the map is good motivation to go explore. Awesome to see a new upload
Another Awesome video!!
Thank you for the hike in the rain❤ it was absolutely beautiful, along with your sense of humor 🌝 you are in the weather climate that I cannot do , so for now I'm camped out in my van in much warmer weather enjoying watching you 😂You are absolutely right when it comes to our home on wheels having mechanical issues can put a damper on things , I'm thinking, you have a solution to the problem? I wish you the best and safe travels during the California storms, burrrr
Thank you Scott for the tour! Enjoy!!
Love Your coffee recommendations always enjoy the show
Thanks, I appreciate it
Love that area, thanks for sharing!
Aww the Deers are so Beautiful 😍❤️ Wow Wounder if theres any open cracks in the trail there from Quake? 👍✌️🤞👌🤩🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙌🙏
And the Cascades go clear to Tehama County/Lassen and Redding/Red Bluff, CA Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen are both volcanoes and part of the cascades!
Nice video and cheese sandwich
Keep on keeping on brother and thanks for all the videos of your journeys 😊
Thanks for watching Nick
Lately I've been rolling up refried beans into a cigar shape.... I'll put them in a chicken roll up or whatever the meat is... add cheese... yellowbird Habanero
the let it brown in a cast iron pan... rolling it over several times... probably 8 to 10 minutes. "Refried beans" as a base.
Have you thought about getting a bigger van. I can see the charm but I would like a bigger one. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love the Point Reyes National Seashore as well as the Point Reyes Station! My other happy place is Stinson Beach!
Would love to know more about your mic and little windcat thingee. I looked in your Amazon store links, but didn't see anything in there for it.
The mic is a Pocket Wireless by Deity but has been discontinued. You might be able to find some old stock. I bought it from B&H Photo.
@@StaticCamperVan thank you! I like your sound quality and figured it must be due to the mic you are using.
❤ Wow Scott 🌞 $7 for Premium Gourmet Coffee ☕ i would have bought 2 after 1st cup to taste! Thank you for sharing your Adventures! Have a Great Night see y on the next 1👍✌️🤞👌🤩🇺🇸🙌🙏🌛🌝
Im glad you enjoy your lifestyle even after this many years. You have masterrd all the nuanced of the vsn dwelling lifestyle. I wish for you a healthy and enriching expierence daily. Yes there are challenges and worries but that's everywhere. I want financial security for you and successful interactions to getting your van transmission and engine contingencies solved. Seems like they have you on hold for that and are taking a wait and see strategy. Not sure thats fair enough for you? You elevate the little bit things in life like good coffee grilled cheese sandwiches and simple comforts. Wish everyone recognized thatcthise things are golden. ❤
Absolutely Scot you keep it real
Hi Scott :) at 26:30: "those of you who do feel the effects of caffeine, I do not" - I get it! alcohol use to be just like that for me 🤨. Wondering what the green thing is on your rearview mirror? Such a nice philosophy you have on spending local where you're staying. You are a great teacher on ethical van-living. Thanks again for all that you share here!
That’s a display tag for the America The Beautiful Pass
@@StaticCamperVan Why is it so hard to find a complete list of the parks included in that pass? ugh...
A reconditioned iPhone 14 is less expensive than a new iPhone.
I purchased mine 2 years ago-- runs beautifully and I use many apps for work and daily gps.
Thank You.
Hi Scott. Great video!
Thanks!
I like you, you are so human. I am on my second adventure with you and you are keeping it real.
Thanks Leslie
Have you checked your gearbox oil Scott, and the connections underneath, I used to restore old 40s and 50s American cars and a 57 Chevy i had was doing exactly the same. I know there's a big difference in yrs but It still sounds like same issues mechanical. It's usually the oil level, loving the long video's by the way 🤟✌️🚐🙏💯
This transmission is like all modern ones that have the oil sealed with no way to check it other than opening it up.
Thank you. I’m not sure if I will be able to get down to Bolinas and Stinson this trip but it’s on the list.
Hi from Seattle!
You seem to enjoy such a small space for resting and cooking. Have you hiked and wild camped in nature in summer?
You have to really enjoy cloudy weather and rain to live in the NW as beautiful as it is. As a Phoenician for over 30 yrs, I thrive in the sun. I do share your love for a good cup of coffee.
It’s sunnier here than I expected. If you want to see what the weather usually is like, here’s a video: ruclips.net/video/wo6xOByOXks/видео.htmlsi=GBRtSSBKY1aKAQkh
Hopefully you are drinking organic decaf because non organic uses solvents to decaffeinate non organic coffee. Enjoying the content.
I only drink swiss water decaf. But as I said, no more decaf until I can buy the good stuff
I absolutely love the rain…I’m a more rainy person than sun
👋 Scott 😊
LOL at your subs who try to scold you. You are all grown up.You can do whatever your little heart desires.🐢🐩🐕🐶🌺✨🌊🌙🌈
cool place
Northern California actually is the Pacific Northwest! At least from Point Reyes on up!
Cape Mendocino is generally regarded as the southern border of the PNW
Looks like a really cool area❤
A surprisingly nice area
@@StaticCamperVan very cool. Safe travels..
Awesome video
Thanks Alvin
Don't mind me, I'm just walking through your living room... 🤣🦌
