An Aussie journalist, Vince Rugari, has a biography on Ange. Reading/listening to it and you know that Ange is different. He cares about winning ultimately, but is so much more focussed on the process. The destination to him is immaterial if the process is not in place, because without the latter, the former is not attainable and just a dream. Values for football, but also values for life. Ange is a gift for Spurs!!

I hope so... I've been very much on the pro support campaign regarding all the negatives lately, but Timo is close to breaking me... He was a ghost against utd, may as well have been 10v10 bar for his cameo missed chance and one attacking run and cross to a space... I am struggling with finding positive words about his performance(s), which are repeats for hiding, passing backwards and not engaging his opposing full back, right or left.... His first touch was really good throughout the utd game... I hope he does do a Brennan

    Thanks Ali. Great game.
Red Card: at match speed it looked red, in slo-mo probably not but he was out of control, high and slashed his leg out so he can’t be upset.
The solution would be an orange card where the decision on field would be: up to VAR to decide Red or Yellow.
That way there can’t be a ‘clear and obvious’ debate or worry about it being overturned.
Finally, I’ve worked with Norwegians and Swedes for many years. Pronounce Lucas name Ber-ge-vall.
Say the middle ge at the back of your throat as quickly as you can while you say Bergvall with your front so it’s almost not a syllable but a joining conjunction and you can hardly pick it out.
You can just pronounce it Berg-vall (as you would in English). No Scandinavian’s bother about it.

  • @Paul-of2yq

It was great game and I read your report which was a brilliant breakdown of the game.I knew the general narrative in the rest of the media would be how bad utd were , that was pretty much the general theme when I listen to the various sports media. There was some sort of grudging praise for Spurs but you can see where the media sharks were circling they want a manager sacking and ETH is firmly in their sites ? As for Werner he worked hard and pulled in utd players off the ball which gave us space, he just lacks a bit of confidence and I thought Spence did well as you said before shame he didn’t get picked for the Europa League.

  • @orinorio1

The one and only. Watching the match I was sitting thinking how Spurs made it look so easy. To think Spurs played on the Thursday 80 mins with 10 men. Yet looked like they had a week off. Looked like United was the team who played on the Thursday with 10 men. Spurs stepped up and it was wow. Imagine if Son played ? . I liked how Ange brought on Radu and Bergvall on for 15 min. Will make the team togetherness even stronger. This is Spurs on a role Spurs will be hard to stop.

That was a wonderful team performance and we totally dominated Man Utd. Haven't enjoyed a full match like that for a very long time and it was against a big rival. We could have had 7 or 8 if we'd taken all of our chances. So many players had excellent games, Kulu, VDV, Romero, Johnson, Maddison, Bentancur. Amazing how many times we nicked the ball off Utd when they were trying to break out of defence, it was fantastic. Must take that performance forward now. Very, very happy!

How I've missed a game we could just kick back and enjoy 🎉
You're right about the negativity - all weekend has been about how poor United was and how Werner is crap. I do not get it. Yes, we know about his finishing in 1v1s, and he has to do better, but look at how he stretched them yesterday. Look at the runs he made to get in those positions and his link up play. Son has struggled this season to get in those positions and when he has he's missed a couple too. Werner was part of an attack that shell-shocked united and is a major reason why they ended up just letting VDV run straight through them. They didn't know what hit them. With game time Werner is a decent player. He just needs more than 20min every 2-3wks

Im happy the focus is on UTD being poor. We've been at it all 6 games this season.... The year Leicester won, nobody realised while they quietly stayed in contention at the top.. It'll be a well fought season to actually win the prem, youd think City would have to throw it for others to win, but while the focus is off spurs, we can quietly rack up wins and points under the radar of being contenders... All being well, a european run, a cup run... Confidence could be sky high.. its already building as fast as vdv can run

Id like to see continual tweaks done by the coaching team to match the opponents we are playing to nullify what their gameplan. Would like to see the squad players come in and do well (Spence, Werner & Dragusin). Hopefully now we can build on the confidence and the players can really apply themselves like this in every game. We shall see if its is a false dawn on the start of where Ange wants to take the squad. Still only yr 2 transitional year. Cheers for your astute analysis.

Thank you! I'm Hungarian and I'm really looking forward to Thursday night, it looks like I won't be able to go to the match because of my ankle injury. So I am very disappointed. I hope you will like Budapest. And I hope Spurs win and don't make the mistake others have made in the past of playing FTC condescendingly. If I do manage to get out, I'll be very happy. COYS
