Yo this video is exactly what i needed, been struggling so much with mashed words and lack of clarity. Explaining the attack time like you have has done wonders for me. Love!!
I knew what attack and release do in compressors, but I didn't really understand it. This video explains it perfectly in less than 8 mins, very nice work.
You deserve to get a 100M subscribers man, Ever since i knew you i left all those channels beating around the bush, You are straight to the secret bro !!!
Max! your content is seriously changing my life thank you so much for the work you do!! I signed up for the courses maybe 2-3 weeks ago and they are crazy crazy crazy good!! They are seriously worth so much more then what you're charging for!!
Max you Genuis mad man. You made me come with a new idea. You use try a vocal rider first followed by this tips you taught us. Thank You Max you are the best of the best of Mix Elite
Might get some comments on my post. But frankly, because I only do 2 different Genre's and none of the ones you mention, I consider RAP to be "dialogue put to background music". And WHY? This track, so I wont even call it a Vocal, barely has 2 two-note range, and the only reason for the dynamic range shown in the track, is from volume changes. SO all you'd be doing on this is to bring up lower volumes and squishing down the higher ones. SO I only watched about 3 min of it. I'm sure it was good for those who do this Genre. To deal with low and high dynamic ranges, I've found that the Waves MV2 works well, with only 2 knobs, plus an output knob. Something outside the video comment. I wish that compressor plugin vendors could decide to be more consistent in how they set up their Attack and Release systems. Maybe have all of them the same, because to me, it's sometimes confusing going from 1 compressor to another. Maybe have Slow on the left, and Fast on the right for all of them. At least some of them Label them.
been making music since 2019 and this is the first time I feel like I understand compression
thank you
same
In certain cases its parameters CAN be quite extensive, just seems like a long time for such an essential dynamic effect
