Out of all the tutorial videos that I’ve seen on RUclips beside maybe 2 other tutorial makers you go so in-depth to explain the 5 w’s Who what, where, why, when .who’s one of the fundamental ways of learning because if you don’t know for what reason you are doing something then it’s basically no use. I see far to many tutorials where the person just says cut the low end and i’m like why until I started watching your videos . I just want applaud you for the great work you do keep up the great work and giving back to the new Produces that are coming in and really truly to learn the craft of music making. Thanks fams
Again, this tutorial resonated with me. Your attention to detailed explanations are exactly what I need to retain the needed information. A genuine and heartfelt thank you is far too small of a gesture to express my gratitude for your contributions to the craft...✊🏿👍🏿
Your videos/tutorials are some of the best I've come across on youtube over the last 4 years. The way you explain everything in great detail and simplify concepts so they're easier to grasp is amazing. I wish I found your channel sooner. Thank you!
Bro your explanation and Teaching technique and knowledge all are amazing you taught me those things which took me to learn so many years..! Please keep sharing knowledge through your videos it's helps us a lot who can't afford to purchase high paid course!!!!
This is like the 5th video I've watched on your channel and I can say I'm a fan now. You are #1 production teacher for FL Studio users un my opinion. Keep it up!
Bravo. Not only is this an excellent (and eye opening) tutorial for amateurs like myself, coupled with the all important 'why' makes it the gold standard on how to impart music production knowledge. I've learned a lot - thanks!
Good video 😎 Using Para EQ 2 and Peak Controller to sidechain stuff is also a nice technique 🎧 I may do a tut myself on that and share some templates later on.
Killer tutorial, Think "Frequency Masking" just became a little bit more defined to me. Like others have said : 1. Your tips are killer and useful. 2. Stereo imaging - mixing/balancing/etc would be a good highlight to learn about, I reckon that's been one of the biggest mixing setbacks for me.
Yo Max, love your stuff. I purchased the entire Mixing Course back and it has helped me tremendously. Also, the way you have broken things down in this video make a lot of sense. I've always struggled to understand layering vs instruments keeping their own frequency lane. Knowing when to add or remove elements in a mix can be challenging. Thanks for covering and hope to see more explanation on these concepts.
Wow dude I just finished your Beginner to Intermediate and Chords & Progressions courses and I haven't binged so hard since Altered Carbon season 1. I think I can speak for all of us when I say you need to courses like that for all of FL Studio ...like all the stock plugins which you seem to know better than anyone.
8:35 This can also be a nice starting point for when you're filling out freqs with noise, which has some cool uses in it's own right. Recently I ran into a problem with release + reverb tails ringing over a chord change and really didn't wanna compromise it, take out all the dissonant frequencies, add wider noise back in their place (Note EQ patcher preset is pretty nice alongside a parametric 2), and it sounds full and rich without having the noise eat up and warble the freqs you want to cut through, the noise shouldn't really stick out as it's own thing. This can be a pain in the workflow, though, it can be a whole session of it's own to set up and get it sounding right, and you might need a duplicate instrument to affect tails separately. Anyone got shortcuts? Also, we all know multiband ducking, but imagine an EQ could read the input and duck each frequency according to how loud it already is in the sound you're trying to complement with noise, or what have you. Then maybe a control to give the freqs already there some more room, maybe some sensitivity to count slightly different freqs, I've always wanted something like this. Basically, say you had a saw and add a square by this means, you get a saw + square, except the frequencies the saw already had aren't added from the square.
Hi, with all due respect - I know you intended well and it's good to try helping other achieving their dreams - but I honestly think you may be over-equalizing! For sure you will set a desired freq range for everything, but sometimes you might loose some character on instruments (Is your EQ for the vocals that drastic ?). Also, EQing affects the sensation of space : Here, after EQing the flute sounds way more distant, because of the removal of high frequencies, it feels pushed to the background. That is a decision you also might want to take consciously. Also, systematically applying High Pass to midrange elements may alter their transients drastically. Take an electric guitar for example. I think your advice might work OK-ish for EDM production, but you might want to go easier on the cuts!
Heeey nice to see your face mate ! I have a question So why you don’t use pattern in Kick? 🤔 i noticed that FL Studio has problems when you play kick on your library sound great but when you put it in the mixing Desk sound awful!!! it quickly loses its value ! Any Solution
When trying to make the kick and sub (808 or just pure sub) work together you shouldn't use a dynamic eq ( you will disrupt the phase when using the eq on low end ). I will recommend just using a level ducker only! I tried the level ducking method and never looked back. Anyway, for other frequencies, you can surely use dynamic eq( I use it a lot on my samples for when the kick and 808 hit, they will get a lot cleaner).
When you master (not mix) it is best to re-render stems you work with when you have applied the desired effect, then the phase is “finalised” and you can easily see the phase you are working with.
Bro out of all the tutorials i seen on RUclips, i rank you the best, i ain't never seen no tutorials so prolific to watch like yrz , i ain't watching no dumb ass tutorials again, Imma subscribe to yr channel.🤗
There is one important thing: sometime instruments sound solo or with another instruments and that mask would not work anymore. In this case only automatic tools would work cutting freq conflicts in real time

This tip right here is strong. Dragging the same effect over to another channel then easily removing the same frequencies . . . . . . is strong
