      i couldn't believe their true color, their influence, their character on a song is really really strong, at the first verse where mark use his lyrics melody and when mike add some little details which make the song totally different. i am speechless

    Man, all the hate... Mark knows and openly admits he isn't super talented musically, he just loves doing this and the world keeps letting him. I was watching Hoppus on music recently and he was asked about why they don't do guitar solos and he straight up said "Because we aren't talented enough". He knows his niche is catchy songs, which is why I actually really like "Simple Creatures" I feel like it's the best fit for Mark at this point in his life.

    Mark & Mike both legends in their own respective styles!, Don't ever change mark, know that some of us that grew up with you will always be here, you're talented af and you changed our generation in your own way, Just like LP has.
    Given more time and a better chance to collaborate instead of a 30mins on spot they couldve made an incredible hit. First of all this show was lame. You don't drop artists together and get them to explain how they do it. Look at both of them how they grew up and came from nothing but passion to make music. This isn't some class or ripoff demonstration put under a spotlight.
    Every artist and musician knows the time spent and the thoughts and being let doen and the frustration, the lack of inspiration for them to sing it in their songs so the rest of us can live through their words that carry us on. You guys can hate. But what you're seeing is legendary in this day and age and will never be forgotten. People that changed the world through their music. I'm a fan of both and if it wasn't for Mark I'd never have known happiness in life and living those years. If it wasn't for Mike I would've never gotten back up and what it's like to recover from being down in the dumps. They are both my ups and downs. They are both a part of who I am today.

    I never tried this hard to write songs. I just wrote songs. You have an idea and write a story about it, or you play a tune and then write a story about it. It's interesting to see Mike get so technical. I remember hearing Mark 15 or more years ago talk about songwriting and say something along the lines of if you can't think of words you just say na, na, na. Also, if you write something and it sucks you just call it art and no one can complain. Both of these guys are great musicians and songwriters. Mark is great

    sat at the back of the wall
    played at the back of a bar
    another drink
    another day
    another thing we'll never say
    fucked up
    said it today
    left you bleeding away
    left the things to burn
    and now we're burning today
    the summer we began to love
    CHORUS:
    let's fall apart
    fall forever
    let's fall apart
    let's fall forever
    let's fall together
    we'll fall apart

    it's so sad sometimes I watch mark or blink and realize how they've aged and it's crazy. I literally grew up listening to these guys and still am. i don't give a flying fuck what dumbass remarks will surely be put on this comment but I was such a die hard fan of blink that when they first broke up I skipped school for like 3 days. later when Travis was in his accident I flipped shit. u feel a certain connection with a group of individuals that make music which speaks to u or sums up your life. even if those don't apply u just know when u have something special and if it wasn't for blink I probably wouldn't have explored different genres of music or even different bands. for awhile it was only blink. the self titled album blasted out of my stereo every damn day. I got my first drum set when I was 6 so once I was able to read music I learned every note and every beat from every album. I play the shit on my sleep. if there are any drummers here please..(with all seriousness) do any of u make beats in your head, with your fingers, hands, clicking your tongue or just play with everyday objects? it's so bad that I sometimes turn my blinker on in traffic to match the persons blinker Infront of me which acts as my metronome.

    • @Eris_Norregard
      @Eris_Norregard 7 лет назад +5

      You are very obsessed with music. I can relate to that. :)
      Well I am not the musician, but I am a dancer. Just like for you it was Blink 182, for me it was Linkin Park. I've been listening to them since the beginning - I can't believe I was only 6 years old. I can't even remember my life before them anymore.
      It was Mike who motivated me to start dancing, particularly it was his remix of the song Enjoy The Silence back in 2006. I always was very passionate about the music and the first time I heard this remix, I just couldn't stay still. So I started to dance in my own room, even tho I had no clue how to dance. I just let my body move freely to the music - and after that I realised what a fuckin wonderful feeling it was. So I started to attend the dance classes... and now, more than a decade ago, it's become my living. So I have pretty much to be grateful for.
      By the way that thing you described - about you making up drum beats in your head - is relatable for me too. I listen to music pretty much all the time, and sometimes it inspires me and I start to imagine in my head how I would move to that. Basically I create my dance choreographies when I'm in grocery store or when I walk my dog. :D

      While I was never as die hard of a Blink fan like yourself (skipping school for 3 days? XD) I can definitely relate as a drummer to always tapping my fingers/hands/feet/nearest object to the rhythm of a song stuck in my head, especially if I'm having trouble learning it I'll play at different speeds just to get down the basic pattern!

    • @dog8438
      @dog8438 7 лет назад +1

      I'm not a drummer I'm a guitarist but I totally relate to always thinking about music like that and even I always tap to a beat in either 4/4, 3/4, or 6/8 time and I'm always humming melodies and thinking of different lyrics to go with them in my head. My songwriting process isn't just when I'm at my guitar but it's all the time

      Logan Light ALL THE TIME. I'm constantly either tapping, tapping teeth together or just doing something that feels like a rhythm. It feels like a disorder. It means music's in you.

    • @loganlight7758
      @loganlight7758 7 лет назад +1

      Harry...dude yeah..I chatter my teeth and make beats like that. I've been playing drums since I was 7 and when I learned how to read sheet music I could write my own stuff so ever since I can't stop making beats in my head or whatever I feel like using. I seriously thought like..I was insane or something. I might be anyway but I'm glad I'm not alone lol...makes me feel better. Its cool to see other people replying.

    guys you need to realise that they are just giving an example of what they do in the studio, its not like they had a lot of time to write like you would in a studio so can we just be respectful of what they just made instead of saying to many 'nanananas' or they came up with that riff before hand. yes they did because if your a song writer you have two sides, one being i can can up with a riff straight away ive got nothing to worry about and one being oh god i cant fit anything in with these lyrics vise versa. this is just my open opinion so dont yell, i just think that in the time that they had they did a lot more than most people could in a day.

      Michael Bell Um no dude, im surely not a songwriter, but im a composer,and our vocalist is the lyricist and he is damn good. I have tons of tracks( mainly the guitar and bass with simple drum tracks) its when we try to blend together what we have that takes time,since the last comment we have found a middle ground to work and we have four new tracks and completed the arrangements for the past six. This video actually helped. And im glad that your band works so fast, but i could never say a song is finished in 20 minutes, we usually get the idea (chords, rhytm, main lyrics) in that timeframe, but we will comeback to it to rework it and add stuff many times after...

      Michael Bell writing a song that quick all the time doesn't make you even a remotely good song writer, though I'm sure a select few of yours are bangers I'll give you that

    • @michaelbell75
      @michaelbell75 7 лет назад

      Aleksey Daziel yea, I agree but if you've been writing for 7 months and only have 6 songs completed, that might be an issue. Especially once you are on a label and they are expecting new material in a timely manner. That's where lots of bands get in trouble, rushing songs to meet label deadlines and putting out subpar music. I guess it all depends on how much time you spend writing. If you're only getting together a few times a month then that's not usually productive. I'm just in a duo so it's guitar and vocals to drum tracks, so it's a bit easier. We just wrote and recorded 4 songs in a little over two hours the other night. I had the riffs laying around, we came up with the melody and lyrics to it and recorded it, done. But everyone works differently.

    This was very refreshing to see. Mark has been a major influence on my bass playing and songwriting in general, so being able to watch him writing a song on the spot gave me some insight on how he proceeds, how he comes up with vocal lines, etc...I only wish he grabbed bass instead of the guitar (or asked for an acoustic).

      They are going for two completely different genres. Blink 182 is also not AC/DC or Black Sabbath. Everyone knows blink songs are simple chords, but the way they combine different riffs off those chords and combine them with their genre of music is what makes them popular. if anything, tom and mark coming out of high school and barly knowing how to play an instrument is probably what made them so good, they kept it simple. Then the best drummer in the world joined them and they added a 3rd song writer they could fit the simple chords into. Also some of blinks riffs are very unique and catchy, which is what makes a good artist. Blink was always a punk band at heart.

A better match would have been Chester and Mark because they actually write songs.

    Hoppus is bang on about the bridge section of a song. I'm thinking of songs like Violence and What's my age again where the whole feeling of the song changes due to the bridge and it works woderfully. He done this really effectively in +44 songs too like baby come on and Chapter 13. These two guys are great, they simply make good music that people want to listen to.
