    The problem is not remembering to keep your feet on the Trike’s floorboards……The problem is remembering to take your feet off the floorboards once you’re back on your Street Glide!

    The suspension does need to improve. An after market seat improves the ride after making shock adjustments. The rear lift kit does improve the handling significantly. Also opening up the exhaust with a Stage I will reduce the heat on your right leg and passenger. There’s a mid step aftermarket part that helps with mounting the Trike.

    • @rosemaryus-ct6151
      @rosemaryus-ct6151 Год назад

      i had a lift kit put in too but it was to get over high local speed bumps without bottoming out. i also have a back rest which, added to the lift height, makes it impossible for me to throw a leg over so a midstep is not useful for me. i step up on the footrest and have to really lean forward with the opposite leg bent to get in front of the back rest. without the lift and the backrest i'd be able to just throw a leg over. i've never had a problem with heat from the exhaust, nor has a passenger complained. i guess we just manage to stay away from it. or maybe u didnt have the stock exhaust like i do.

    I have a 2020 Trike and found that the wondering is caused by unconsciously trying to balance the trike. Relax your hands on the handlebars and it should disappear. Also the reverse does not use the started motor but a separate starter like motor.

    I just bought a 2023 trike, I had a 2018 and loved it put 60K on it then . Trikes are really great on long runs as I did. If it was not winter now, I'd be on the road again and loving it!

    I own a 2021 Trike and there are two modifications needed to improve the ride. First, get rid of the factory seat and upgrade to a quality aftermarket one. Second install a 1.5” lift kit to the rear suspension. Once done it’s night and day. Last but not least dail in your shocks with the factory suspension adjustment knob.

    I’m waiting on my 3rd Triglide to be delivered.(Shutout to Motorcity Harley Davison in Farmington Mich). People just remember. It rides more like a 3 Wheel Quad than a 2 Wheel Bike. Keep this in mind and you will love life once you get on one.

      Cool! I've ridden plenty of ATV trikes, including one with a tank full of weed-spray which made cornering a sloshy affair. I found that body position helped on cornering, if my memory serves me right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Mr Motorcycle Obsession, was this your second trike ride? You seem as out of sorts as you did in 2021.

    i do thank u for one thing. i've had trouble putting it in neutral at a full stop too, especially on a hill. the former mechanic at my original HD [yeah the one that got FIRED] said, 'u dont know how to ride a bike.' [because i'm female?] so ty for clearing that up lol. it's not just me. i was told to move the bike a bit [with my foot]; that helped a lot.

    I own this exact Trike. May I clarify? It is not an emergency brake, it is a parking brake. My trike does not drift. Two pounds less than recommended in the rear tires improved the ride for me. But, I am experiencing the flashing brake light recall debacle. I have been struggling with this for 13K miles. Dealer still hasn't fixed it.

    • @rosemaryus-ct6151
      @rosemaryus-ct6151 Год назад

      it is possible to drift on a trike [like racing drifting]; our msf instructor had us doing it in class. he wanted us to have confidence if we slid. also yes the recommended 26 psi of pressure in the rear tires is higher than need be unless ur bike is carrying a very heavy load. i have seen others have the pressure as low as 20 psi. this also does improve the ride, as u say. the dealer had to replace the reverse motor in my bike after it failed shortly after i bought it. turned out there was a recall [2018 tri glide] and they didnt bother to change it out before they sold it to me. dealers suck.

    Bouncy, For one you don't know where the rear adjustable suspension is set at. Its a demo trike, without popping the seat off to get to the adjuster knob you won't know, bet the demo guys don't know what its set at either!. I absolutely love my late 22!!

  • @rosemaryus-ct6151
    @rosemaryus-ct6151 Год назад

    we were taught to lean into curves in the msf course even though it felt silly because the bikes we used didnt lean. some trikes do lean, however. why do u have a light flickering in the fairing? that's not normal. a trike is a cruiser, not a racer. that doesnt mean it's 'slow.' i have a 2018 that'll do 110mph without breathing hard.

    It has stock suspension on it and that sucks. A must to get better shocks on the rear and front fork kit if you have the funs.
    Also a lift kit on the back will make it handle much better.

    When I first got my sidecar rig I kept putting my foot down out of habit learned not to do that. When you have a three-wheeler whether a trike or sidecar outfit you must unlearn what you have learned for two wheeler because you're instincts will do to do the wrong thing. They are completely different beasts and you have to get used to the way they drive.

    • @rosemaryus-ct6151

    A trike will rapidly change lanes also. If it is safe on a 4 lane, try it, just be really careful until you know the trike.

  • @rosemaryus-ct6151
    @rosemaryus-ct6151 Год назад

    trust me; if ur doing 70 on a trike in the rain ur putting ur face behind that windshield lol. part of the 'bouncy' comes from the fact that HD puts 26psi in the rear tires. other riders have chosen to put as little as 20psi for a bike that is not heavily loaded. the turning radius is not much more than a regular cruiser. u can def do a uturn on a two lane road.

  • @jonta290

    It does not use the starter motor. It has its known separate motor.
    The reverse has its own starter motor that is separate from the motor starter. That’s attached to the motor.

    Interesting. A friend bought a 2022 and now hates it. It rides so hard. I took it fir a spin and id told him shocks and lift would help. After spending $$,$$$ he dose want to put another 4-5,000 in it without knowing that will help.

  • @rosemaryus-ct6151
    @rosemaryus-ct6151 Год назад

    no motorcycle drifts on its own. the rider is supposed to control it. the physical dynamics of a 2 wheeled and 3 wheeled mc are different. there is no countersteering on a trike. u 'steer' it. i use both arms to steer; i pull with one and push with the other. i'm told the lift option makes handling easier. i had mine installed before i took the bike.

    You can't run over your foot if you put it on the ground at a stop because as you get going, the rear wheels move forward and so does your feet, the wheels can't catch them because your feet (on the ground) are moving the same speed as your trike.
