i bought a 2005 honda goldwing trike last year. i take it grocery shopping in the dead of winter was surprised at the heater vents really work the heated seats and grips are super nice/i live up by the canadian border in central washingtn, lots of snow. handles decent enough in the ice and snow. i ride it damn near everyday/ had 30,000 miles on it when i bought it. now has almost 50000. no more harleys for me. all i have owned for over 50 years. no more tipping over. handles like a dream. now to my shop and get out the airbrush. snow white is to much white. but i think it is a great toy
I have a 2003 wing trike that I inherited from my father . I also have a 05 wing with 101 thousand miles great bikes very dependable . I just bought a 2020 roadking . Thanks for all your very informative videos .
Maybe during night time, you could pull off into a dark area and see just how easily all the controls can be located? Most Harley Trikes are missing the mark on 'Ease of Use' after sunset on dark roads. I suspect Harley isn't the only maker who is overlooking this. The automotive designers have solved this, so we don't need to re-invent the wheel.
Thanks...
A few questions, 1. Does this one have independent suspension? 2. Have you ever riden a trike with a VW engine in it? How do they handle? 3. Don't the wide tires make it more slippery(Hydro-plane) in the rain? Isn't there more drag with wider tires(fuel economy)?
Motor Trike Conversions do have independent suspension.
Yeah Honda is good, Ive had a couple of them, and I liked them a lot, but I like the throaty
rumble of an old Harley.
Apparently having a passenger changes things. My cousin hit a turn she was used to taking too fast with me as a passenger and tipped us. Some injuries (broke my hand and tore her up since she wasn't wearing gear) and damage to her Goldwing but thankfully nothing too serious.
Riding two up on a two wheeled goldie changes things as well. I wouldn't even think about throwing my bike around like I do on my own with someone sat behind me.
You both did not lean correctly. If you had, she may not have tipped over.
@@m.cameron1410lean on a trike?
I love these videos, but this is the 4th where the rider was unfamiliar with the features of the bike. I'm glad you can learn on the fly, but make s more sense to me to be more knowledge.
I have a 2008 Goldwing with a Lehman kit. Corners great, and faster than I would on a bike.
How fast does it go, like what is the speed max?
@@kennethmoonga8683 geared the same as a motorcycle, 120 ish
I am an old man (76) and would prefer four wheels under me rather than just two. But, for the cost and safety factor, I think I would prefer to pick up an old MGB and have "some" metal around me for protection. There are just too many crazy people in cars on the highways zipping around without signaling.
Great video love the bike ,I was wondering why don't they put the windshield vent on the bottom of the windshield with adjustable flanges and keep it out of your line of sight .
My 84 Golding has vents on it, that when activated will blow hot air up off of the engine.
Goldwing are too advanced omg i have a 81 silverwing and a radio is enough for me lol
Looks like a smooth ride on the road😀
Would love to see you guys do reviews of HD Freewheeler, RG3, and TriGlide
I just bought one a 1993 Goldwing motor trike at a drug seizure auction and there is definitely a learning curve to riding one after you have ridden a two wheeler
Mine tipped last Friday. Went to stop while rolling at 25 mph. The trike jerked violently to the left, took out a mailbox, tipped on it's right side, threw us off, then tipped back on three wheels. My wife now has three broken ribs and a messed up shoulder.
Don't drink and drive
What? Your trike just randomly jerked left?
Nice, I could see taking one on a good long road trip. 6100 miles on that one, not even broken in yet.
I find it interesting that some so called "Christians" will bash another Christian for including God in their life as they go. I find it refreshing. What they are doing is replacing Gods grace with their law. A very strong indication that they really do not know God. What happened to be kind, be loving, be gentle, pursue peace. Sean be blessed! I love your vids.
I have a 1996 motor trike with 59,000 miles. Goldwing 1500 that I am thinking of selling, Only thing is the CB does not work everything else is good. In San Antonio Tx. How much should I ask, I am thinking $12,000. at that price do you think it will sell fast.
which brand are you riding? or which other brand would you recommend to a complete beginner? I'm really thinking on getting one of this instead of a car
I had.a Motor Trike kit installed by Superior Trikes, Florence, SC. They knowingly delivered my trike to me with numerous issues and 2 dangerous issues = did not torque down handle bars and they almost came off while riding and reverse battery was wrong size and installed incorrectly which melted the terminals. If Superior Trikes didn’t know all of the 12 issues prior to delivery then they shouldn’t be doing any installations at all! I have pictures, videos, text msgs, tel nbrs, email addresses etc. for anyone to see.
Motor Trike corporate told me I had to have the very dealer that did the shit installation repair the issues or warranty would be void. Is that legal? Sounds like coercion to me & most
Would being 115lbs 5'3 make it difficult to ride or control something like this?
What mic/camera system you used in this video. It’s awesome
The kit plus instalation including taxes is $17,500 for a 2012 Harley Ultra
This seems much safer than a motorcycle. I think I'll get one!
They flip over easy.
@@theadventuresoftaco7306 He said in the video that these don't??
@@JLCra87 remember this bike is for sale at his dealership, any vehicle in this configuration can flip if cornered hard, he might say it feels stable but he is not pushing it anywhere near it's limitations.
Bikes can also flip, so i don't think it's any more or less safe.
Having 2 wheels in front and one in rear is actually much more safe but then it has even less relation to a motorcycle and feels more like a car.
@@1119benjamin well you can flip anything , I’f driven like an idiot.
I think your better off with a can am spyder rt limited it’s safer, cheaper, still reliable, and a purpose built trike
thought you would go over some of the issues with trikes.
No he just wants to ramble and pray talk about crap.
LOVE LOVE sound of that flat 6.Sounds like a smooth rocket ship
I've always wondered, do those trikes handle well in the same Winter conditions you might conceivably take a hatchback car through?
They usually do but like every motorized bikes and mopeds they will glide if your not careful
I have ridden my Ural at -30 degrees F. I decided It was too cold for me to do that again. A sidecar bike or trike type of vehicle can be ridden in any weather if you are dressed properly.
Love the prayer. Do that when I'm in my car!
Love their fins on the side. More wind or no wind. Amazing ride
Consider this a constructive criticism most people don't really care much about how beautiful a vehicle is because for one they can see they would be more interested on how much how fast and how strong it is that will entice them to buy or watch and FINISH watching this video.
More buttons on this thing then my bike two cars, work truck and whole house combined
What is with the plastic bar on the windshield? It blocks the view of the road. Are there canopy kits for these as well? To make it a flip top fully locking enclosure?
IT'S A " VENT " , IT'S IN. THE
" CLOSED POSITION " , ON HOT DAYS , LETS THE AIR FLOW TOWARDS THE DRIVERS FACE & ONE. CAN VARY THE AMOUNT OF AIR BY " TILTING THE VENT LEVER UP - OR - DOWN " , SOME WINDSCREENS ARE SOLID ,
" VENTED WINDSCREENS " ARE A NICE ACCESSORY TO HAVE
@@treadhead Something wrong with your keyboard that uppercase is the only way you can type?
It will run smoother with car tires. I put them on my Spyder. Way more stable.
How do the car tires compare to OEMs in corners? Pressure 18 fronts, 28 rear?
Outriggers are the bolt on an off wheels leaving the two bike wheels on the road .
When are you going to do a review on a later model harley Triglide
Lancaster County, I know it well. I lived in Manheim for awhile on Main St.
God lord yeah not being able to lean with the turns scares the beejesus out of me just watching
Plus I'm so use to countersteering first, my brain would be confused and be like... um... no.
Does this bike fall, if you make a hard turn. I bet you can, considering the wheels in the back do to lean over
Great Video bud, God bless you and keep it up. I'm looking at buying a Spyder Can Am, but I might switch to the Honda Gold Wing Trike.
Tried both, honda is very smooth, but the 2020 can am RTL is incredible. the Honda does not have a real reverse, takes for ever to back up, and is 20,000$ more then a can am spyder rt limited and has less features. Honda trike is a modified bike, try both before making a decision
I have plans to build an electric tricycle, not starting from a motor bike but starting from a pedal bike, I do wonder if a lot of the physics will be similar, I do worry about stability, how easy it'll be to steer and if it'll tip easily at the speeds I am aiming for. I can adjust the fork angle by having a larger wheel in the front than the ones in the back, a 24/29 wheels will essentially add five degrees of forward tilt to the front fork. I have no idea if that'll be beneficial or detrimental to handling.
omg I cant stand the smacking
Don't suppose you could give an input on the Richland Roadster Trike on America kits??
I think your reviews would benefit from mounting a few more cameras on the bikes. I especially would have liked to have seen this one rolling from several POV's.
Agreed
ALL OF YOU CONTEMPLATING A TRIKE OF ANY MAKE,the trikes offered scare the hell out of me,the price, then the short wheelbase really spooks me,this doesn't matter much when you have ridden for a few years on two wheels, remember this iF you are stricken with fear of open air travel, they race bikes at over 180 mph around and around, they fall off,99% of them don't get hurt, why? they wear their armor, leathers and most importantly a high dollar bulletproof helmet, you ride today with out a skid lid, well just ask GARY BUSEY about head protection, all of this conversation is because there are twice as many on the roads today as when most of old timers started riding, and 80% of them have never been on two wheels, and care not about you losing a leg or running you off the road,i quit ridding in town and now only ride state to state, safer even with the deer and little animals darting across the roads, think about all of this,i've been riding since 1966 still here, and never pair up without 60 feet between first row and second row, reacion time on a scooter is EVERYTHING
I've been wanting to get a trike style bike. But, any time I ask questions, people are discouraging me from getting one, cause they're " unstable and tip easy " and such...
You have (flat bottom) car wheels in the back, but not the front (as best I can see)? What's up with that? The 1.8L engines puts out about 10hp more than my 98 hp, 1.8L Prius engine. That's CBR600RR territory.
I wouldn’t be able to get over listening to that transmission wine all the time, great video though
The headline says bike..which is derived from bi which means 2. I see 3 wheels so this is a trike you cant drop
Very nice but damn, that vent in the windshield drives me nuts.
And it looks extremely smooth not like my extremely shaky Harley Tri Glide.
Your videos are the best for description of bike and ease of riding/handling
What's that strap in front of the windshield ? I'd pull that off !
Love the scripture and the video. God bless 🙏
Does anyone know how much it would cost to switch a trike from foot to hand controls? Given my physical challenge of cerebral palsy I can't shift with my feet.
Yea Sean, those cops were looking for some guy on a black Honda gold wing trike...hahahaha!
Can't argue with any of that, I love my trike! one of the best rides I've ever had. I ride a Suzuki boulevard.
He says, "King of the road" and reminded me of that western song. It IS TRUE THO! However, I say it just aq little differently, "Goldwing IS and ALWAYS has been THEEE KING OF TOURING".
That acceleration sound getting on the interstate was super-awesome. Nice and throaty yet still quiet enough to keep your hearing in tact.
My good buddy and riding Partner has gone to the trike because he says he lost his sense of balance. I get it and he's still getting his Bike Kicks. He tells me it is easier on him and less fatiguing for his wife.
I road it a couple of times, once to fill it with gas for him and the other just to get some beverages. Both times it felt awesome and stable as any car. You're exactly correct that going into corners takes some different technics and feels so weird but becomes natural in just a few miles...BUT, it is unsettling at first because I instinctively felt I needed to start turning the bars the opposite direction and wanted to LEAN into the corner...caught before I really messed things up tho so no harm, no foul.
It IS definitely a little smoother than my Goldwing over like stutter bumps, pot-holes and washboard roads so maybe, just maybe, someday down the road I'll have to get one IF I loose MY sense of balance.
Again, great video, as always, I like your videos Brother so please keep 'Em Coming.
It just as the name plate says , interstate set ur cruise at desired cruise and it's on !!! Loved it except electric reverse ? It is pretty weak ? Beautifull trike
I back up my trailer with my wife on the back , and up hill with no issue
Just triked my 2009 GW (MOTOR Trike), and still prefer my HD Road glide
whats the problem going into 1st at stop sign you were pumping on it
Gets rid of the point of Lane splitting, for me. Like, now I can sit in traffic on a trike instead of a car, yay?!!
Stop comparing. A trike is a trike. If you want a trike, by all means get one they are awesome and so are bikes. It's not always a right america
After even as little as a year of countersteering, I'd be worried about hopping on a trike and going counter steer speeds.
if trikes out of your budget , side car is always a good option
Actually I never considered a trike but that looks like fun.
I think you loose ABS when you use Moto Trike Conversion. I have a California Sidecar Trike and that used to be the only one that you were able to keep ABS on.
If I missed it is the trike equipped with independent suspension or solid axle
California side car trike kits are independent suspension. The harley triglides are not. I wouldnt touch one that doesnt have independent suspension
I would no more buy one of these than a Skoda Convertible. Simply because they were not designed like that. It is a basic Motor Bike which is then converted. The same as a Skoda Convertible. You can order one brand new but they are not built like it, The roof is removed by another company that specialises in that. So that cost is added to the price of your car. Believe me I looked into it. As far as Trikes go I would rather buy a Boom because they are designed from the start to be a Trike?
10 minutes into the vid and still no bends. 😂 😂
Wish you would have shown storage amount in trunk.
SO R THEY DISCONTUING THIS BIKE IM CONFUSED PLEASE INFORM
THANKS !!
Does an body have any advice on buying a 2002 Honda goldwing Trik with 120,000 miles on it? Am we looking for trouble?
How much money las décadas
Does anyone know if the GPS verbally tells me when to turn? Or is it just on display?
Each to his own. Once you reach a certain level of competence on a motorcycle, the fear of dropping it is not really something that preys on your mind. I used to think about it at first, but now I instinctively know how to handle the bike safely, it hardly ever crosses my mind. I can imagine many trike riders opt for 3 wheels at the outset instead of a bike, or before they reach that level of competence/confidence on a bike; but I can’t imagine many experienced bikers going from 2 wheels to 3. Personally, if I ever felt the need for the security of more than 2 wheels, I’d choose an open top 2 seater sports car rather than a trike. If you can’t have the same fun, leaning into the corners, flicking through the twistiest and filtering through traffic, what’s the point.. you might as well go for a sporty 4 wheeler, which can also be fun. The trike falls somewhere in between (no pun intended.)
I hear you, but despite my spine condition, I'm not ready to go the sports car route. Oh for the feel of the breeze as it deflects over my head thanks to the full fairing... hmmm,..maybe a Camaro?🤔
What about a 96 Yamaha Royal Star? Can they make that into a trike?
84 goldwing motortrike kit. Love it
I believe that the Goldwing T.is the bike for me
Amen!!!
I had three goldwing from 1993 a 1000 an a 1100, then a 1500, then a luxury 1800 out of all the last two bike if the 1500 came with fuel injection would be the best G/Wing to buy more storage room .great ride but only buy a candy apple red .
@@goldwingman1500 I own both the GL 1500 and the gl1800. Honestly I absolutely love my GL 1500 with over 250000 miles on the clock I'm still running strong it is one of the most comfortable vehicles I have ever driven. It rivals cars in comfort the seat is amazing the styling is amazing it's so smooth you can barely hear it it's silky smooth and it moves like s*** off a shovel when you pull the throttle. My only gripe with the 1500 is pretty much the same as yours. I would love to have seen that Byfield injectors I think one of them was I wish they still made that B because the 1800 is completely different and I really don't like the newest 1800s they look and feel more like sportbikes then goldwings

would like to see from all the RUclips channels I watch to make a video talking about each motorcycle they have owned, a description, and a short review of what they liked and didn't like. What I want to know is in your opinion which you saw as being a positive experience and which you didn't with an emphasis on your age and thoughts at the time. For instance as a young guy found super sports great but as you got older found that your mind changed and now supermotos are what you like with explanations why. I haven't seen many people take the time to list this information and I'm really curious at what stages of life and motorcycle life did you buy what and why plus when did you change your mind and why?
