Just got my new mystery box, and I love the hat totally awesome murch.
I have a 98 T/A ls2 418 w/ported gmpp ls3 heads and stock intake. It runs a 6.9 @ 98 MPH 1.52 60ft. On a not great track in St. Pete FL. It dead hooks leaving at a 3600 stall speed. The wheels are the stock 16's. I run a Hoosier 295/50/16. I'm going to a 427 Ls3, Dart pro1 headed with a 700 lift SR from a hyd 600 lift very soon. Does any body think my tire will still hook with an extra 75-90 hp?
Can you not have either the wheel or the bead lock ring milled down a little?

If a slick will hook on a no prep surface are you saying they don't hook as well on a prepped surface? I race prepped tracks on slicks because I'm running a stick car and I have to come out of the hole with wheel speed.
They will definitely hook on a prepped track but if you can stick a radial it’ll be faster and more consistent.
Slicks are more forgiving on parts

@@CharlieBrown-pb9xn yeah I went to a track and the prep wasn't good and my car ran better than it did before. It drove better than slicks. Was a 1968 Camaro with all steel all glass besides fiberglass cowl hood, factory interior with a roll cage and a heavy ass back seat that folds down. 2 racing seats and the car weighed with me in it 3275lbs. Had nitrous but only used it one time before the radials. Went 6.88 on radials. Slicks it went 6.90s but it was front heavy and needed shocks and springs on the front to loosen it up. Also ran a 350 turbo transmission. Never really got to run it much after getting the radials and sold it which I now regret.

@@CharlieBrown-pb9xn no nitrous 406ci sbc with brodix track 1 heads straight off the shelf from summit racing with brodix intake that came in a package deal. When I used the nitrous one time it didn't help the car out that much even with a big shot nos plate system. Track wasn't that good and never used it again but the kit was still on the car. Heads should have been taken to get work done to them but I never did. Had a Holley HP carb on the engine think it was 850 or 950 cfm. Magna fuel biggest fuel pump with 5 gallon fuel cell and battery in the trunk.
