Wow!!!! In every single video there is so much value. I am inspired. This is better than the art school I attended for three years and I'm still paying it off 10 years later 🤦. I love your no nonsense, hands on, "let's try this and see" approach. You demystify art and make it so accessible. I love abstract art. My brain works that way but colour work has always been hard for me so I tended to be monochromatic. Black and white and earth colours. I love this limited palette way of working. It reduces the work involved in picking colours, and the overwhelm of too many choices and it's visually cohesive. This unlocks colour for me. Thank you very much Jane.
I have watched several of you tutorials. I am inspired by the raw experimentational approach you have. I was brought up in England and love abstract art and am now doing a series of mixed media landscapes but very much drawn to how you work. Thank you for being so iinspirational and also your willingness to share your passion. Keep doing it Jane. xx
Inspired by your no nonsense approach to creativity! love your variety of techniques and your fearless combinations of colors.Thank you.A great gift on International Women's Day.
Thank you Jane....we are a group of metalsmiths/enamelists/art jewelers, trying to translate your techniques from collage/printing etc. to our work with glass on metal. We are starting with some collage work exercises. A few of us are truly inspired by your book Abstract Painting and tomorrow we lunch and get our papers gesso/prepped for a day of collage. Dear Jane, thank you so much for sharing. I love what you do and the way you do it, it‘s so interesting and inspiring. And it‘s also wonderful how art crosses boundaries and connects people all over the world. Isabelle from Switzerland
Hi Jane, your videos are such a treat. Your artistic processes are wonderful and I often go back over them and watch time and time again. You inspire me to give things a try. Thanks you so much. Keep them coming please ! Cheers, DEB T
Thank you for doing these videos. I always enjoy your "let's try this" and techniques videos. I have watched them all since the very first one many years ago. They give me "permission" to just play with paint. You had gotten away from doing these kinds of videos for a while.... I sure hope this means that you will start doing some more .... and more frequently... for those of us who can't get to one of your workshops !!! Thanks again..... I love this idea of doing these in a sketchbook. I have a 9 x 12 wirebound sketchbook just waiting for me to use it. I had been doing this kind of thing on single sheets of the drawing paper that you recommend. I love this idea of doing in right in a sketchbook. I know what I'll be doing this afternoon !!!!
Hi Jane - this is very similar to what I do in my sketchbook - lots of color and textures studies. I love the turquoise and the yellows that you used here.
Thank you so much 😊 I really love 💕 this tutorial. I think 🤔 it would be good for mixed media work....... I totally love 💗 these pages. The red strip is awesome too.
Thanks Jane. What do you use to make the thick black line marks? I saw a glimpse of what looked like a large black crayon but couldn't be sure if it were that or an oil stick, etc. . . .
