So glad you made this video. This topic is one that I get asked about constantly. Now I can gladly point people to your video for a clear concise answer. Well done!
Hi, I've just started my 1st fish tank and yes, the water is milky and, even though I washed the gravel, being a tiny sized gravel, I guess I didn't do it well enough. But before I start doing water changes I would like to ask you if there's any way you can tell if the water is milky because of poor gravel cleaning or because of bacterial bloom? I (luckily) haven't got any fish yet (only plants) and haven't put in any type of bacterial product...Thanks for your help 🙏
can I ask you a question? My tank is doing a fish in cycle. The fish are doing well. The ammonia is 0 now and nitrites are now taking over. There are 3 fancy goldfish in there and it is a 350 litre tank. Do I need to do small water changes? They are only juvenile fish and can scoff 20 micro sticks each in a one single feed once a day. Am I over feeding? And should I still do 55 litre changes once a week while it cycles?
I rinsed my gravel and stones thoroughly, the water was clear when I filled the aquarium but this morning when I got up it was a little cloudy and I added tetra aquasafe so I'm not sure if that added to the problem or not. There's no live plants or fish in the tank yet but I want to have the tank clean before I add fish
@@thenerdyfishgirl Yes, I'm fine. Thank you 😊. I'm trying my level best to stay safe from the virus and helping others to be safe too. Be happy and healthy always 👍😃. God bless you for the same.
Glad to hear you are well and staying safe. We ended up getting the virus in my house last month, which blew my mind since we rarely go anywhere, and live in a very small town. All fully recovered now though.
Thank you for keeping it concise and informative.

Thank you so much! 😀
Excellent advice, I’m always forgetting to rise the gravel when setting up a tank but as you say a couple of water changes and all is fine 🤗
It's definitely easy to get carried away and forget to rinse the gravel 😀
Subscribed! Its fun to watch your guide videos.. please make videos about culturing daphnia
