Your content is always so informative and you don't just repeat the same things all the time. i have to say your aquascapes are so artistic. i really enjoy them; so inventive.
Hi Mark: you make it seem so simple. I have been blessed with clear water on my tanks, but like many of your channel followers, my biggest challenge is Algae. I am getting better at it’s control but I have a way to go. I love your videos and their content. Like I said, you make the hobby look so easy ☺️. Cheers my friend!
Great video mark! Scapes are looking crystal clear 😉 I got a lil over zealous with gravel cleaning and maintenance the other day and got a bacteria bloom. A day later it’s back to clear! Great tips!
Hi ! Do you have video on the basics like how to start an aquarium without a filter and make it clear all the time? Like for someone that will start from scratch
Hi Mark, I love all your videos! I recently started using your DIY CO2 on my 220L planted aquarium, (2 bottles at a time) I put the diffuser in my sump and the bubbles go straight into the pump and out into my tank, my plants are so happy and pearling constantly 😁 but my water looks like Sprite, similar to an inline diffuser. Do you know if they DIY CO2 would have enough pressure to use with a CO2 reactor? I would love clear water like the big shallow 😍
Great vid. I have a big question for you please - How do you optimize the CO2 equipment across all those nano tanks? There is something that just feels wrong about having a huge CO2 tank that is bigger than the actual tank, specially if you want to have multiple nano tanks, which is my case. I have 3 tanks, varying from 16 to 7 ga. I want to put them on a racking system - Can I have just one tank feeding all 3 tanks? A vid with some tips on the optimization of equipment across tanks would be fantastic. Thanks!!!
Actually I need to work on that myself... Currently I pretty much have a separate CO2 system for each tank which is very messy and not efficient. So I need to swap to a different regulator that has the option to add extra manifolds, so I can feed all 5 tanks on my shelf from 1 CO2 cylinder.
@@MJAquascaping No, it's been up since September last year 😔 I purchased a canister filter, been doing lots of water changes and it's going down, but it's been a full 5x weeks and sill have 5.0 ammonia 2.0 nitrate and 5.0 nitrite. It's been a bit of a pain lately, but it's part of the hobby when you're a noob 😅
I just redone my 75 gal & it's like milky cloudy, I'm thinking its a bacterial bloom, I'm going to let it run for a few days & see what it does, there's no inhabitants other than plant's. Do you still have ADA clear water ? if so what's the price ?
What is your opinion on tetra co2 optimat and those other small co2 cans. I have one right now and don't know if it works or how much I'm adding. I don't see o2 bubbles on my plants either.
You forgot to mention: light penetration. Oftentimes we can have mature crystal clear water yet it still looks darkish, simply because we have inadequate lighting or using lenses with the wrong angle. When we have >50++ cm deep aquarium, better invest on some 60-45° lenses instead of wide angle ones so the light can penetrate deeper. The reason why people rarely have this problem is because we usually make our aquarium at most 40cm tall, but for some hobbyist with less space, they might order a cubic aquarium (50×50×50 or 60×60×60), and usually they will have problem with factory-made lighting set because they're not designed to be used for such depth.
I have been trying for a year to keep a 3.5 gallon planted tank. No matter what I do the plants and animals die. The only things I've been able to keep alive are an African frog and some snails. I condition the water. I've added a filter. Nothing works.
Not a pro but make sure you have no leaks by putting some water on tube holes and also press the bottle and see if it is pressurized.. And also some diffusers are so strong that DIY co2 won't produce enough pressure to work through it Try a different diffuser or check the bubbles are coming without any diffuser.. Sometimes yeast can go bad so make sure that is also good.
Thanks but none of that helps.. i have slight misty water it is not a bacteria bloom, it is not floating particles or algae, no one seems to cover anything other than what you mention. Before anyone says anything yes it is cycled. Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5 ppm, heavy planted, HOB filter in 65 liter tank, fish are doing fine they're eating and swimming like normal fish.

Your tanks are really beautiful…the reds of the plants are so rich…and yes the water looks invisible…👏🏾 Thanks for the great tips…👌🏽
Thank you very much

Thank you so much for all your very helpful tutorials!!! Greetings from Germany!
Thanks for watching!
Simple patience did the trick ... Thanks for the advice cause otherwise I'd probably started messing around, making things worse.
Best channel I've joined in a while. Thanks so much!
This is a big help thank you but like most people, I am still struggling with algae so off to watch your algae videos, have a fabulous day ;)
Great explanation about the water bacteria 👍🏻
Thank you very much for the extremely educational videos. I absolutely love them. The tanks you showed in this video are insane too.....
Glad you like them!
Do you ever vacuum your tank with all those plants? Gorgeous tanks.
I am new to the hobbie and I absolutely love your channel. You are very informative and your tanks are amazing!
Awesome, thank you!
Excelent, very nice ¡¡
Stunning tanks ❤️
Hey Mark, I was wondering how all the plants in your low-tech tanks grow so well? Mine have barely grown in 8 months lol Also loved the video!
I think its because of either aquasoil or the diy co2 thingy, he considers that low-tech
I also got low tech plants and I just used regular sand and the plants really grow well. Especially the jungle valisneria.
What plants?
I used Jungle Valisneria, cryptocorynes and dwarf saggitaria. If not wrong
He borrowed water from MD fish tanks 😅
hi Mr. Mark, can tell us examples of course granules layer ,,,, can we use seachem matrix or any gravels for example ?

That's great news! And actually with a reactor you don't really need a lot of pressure, so should work just fine!
Thank you 😊
Wow amazing beautiful
Thank you for this video - heeft me erg geholpen!

Yes you can - just use a manifold to feed 3 separate regulators
Interesting video buddy! my water is super clear, but I have ammonia issues 😔
New setup?

That bonsai it's yours? It's montecarlo? Thats Amazing and thanks for the advices.
Not mine 😊 but yea it was monte carlo!
@@MJAquascaping looks good. I don't know why i always hace Bad luck with montecarlo 😭
Nice brother 🤓👌🏼
Thanks ✌
Very good video 🤩
Thank you 🤗
0:24 do you have a tutorial of the tree? Sorry for my bad english.
Maintenance and regular water changes. You dont need chemicals or magic, balance is the answer :)
Looking forward to see your experiment with twinstar / chihiros doctor .
I saw it on your insta 😁👌🏼
How long should I wait for the bacteria bloom to go away? It's been a week and it's still the same
Hello mark. What is the plant that u use for the bonsai? Is it monte carlo?
Yes, correct
What is your opinion on tetra co2 optimat and those other small co2 cans. I have one right now and don't know if it works or how much I'm adding. I don't see o2 bubbles on my plants either.
It does add a little bit of CO2 to the water, so it's definitely better than nothing. It's usually just not enough to make your plants ''pearl''
Make a video on Hairgrass Japan planted Lava rock iwagumi scape

On the 2nd point. Green water, floating algae, to solve that, add some Daphnies
At 3:35 mark, please tell me what that mossy plant is at the top of the hardscape. That's exactly what I'm looking for!
That's Monte carlo :)
@@MJAquascaping Thank you, it's beautiful! Been searching for something that doesn't need to be in the substrate

Will Seachem Purigen filter out plant ferts too?
No don't think so

Cloudy water also happened to my matured tank..i pump extra nitrifying bacteria after couple hours they cleared again..
is that montecarlo on the tree at 0:24 ???

I have a green water issue. Makes me very sad.
Actually my tank look clear from the front view... But when I view from the side of the tank it looks cloudy.. What's the reason?
What is the filter that you have in your betta tank?
Added new sand a few days ago, the water looks milky, do i need to worry?
Nah should clear up by itself :)
Hey, what is the plant you used for the beed tree folliage ???
Monte carlo!
Looks amazing, like a real tree
It attach itself to the wood ?
You should make a video on how to do a tree like that !
I wish you could just come do all my tanks.
The amount of maintenance just to make this video 👁️👄👁️
what fish is at min 7:05?
Looks like Apistogramma Agassiz
It looks like a Kribensis or Apistogramma.
dicrossus maculatus
