  • In light of trends in Scotland’s health and health inequalities, the Glasgow Centre for Population Health was established in 2004 to generate insights and evidence, propose new approaches, and provide leadership for action to improve Glasgow’s health and tackle health inequalities. Nine years on, as the Centre embarks on its third phase of work, this one-day event provided an opportunity to consider what has been learnt and achieved, and to look forward in discussion with key partners and stakeholders.
Through inputs from core GCPH staff, the event told the story of the work of the Centre to date and the resultant new understandings of the population health priorities facing Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Members of the Centre's External Advisory Group offered their responses and helped delegates to collectively consider the challenges the Centre and the city now face, and how we are placed to meet them.
