I was born in northern Albania, I currently live in France, my father easily accepted it, it's still a little bit hard for my mother but the situation improved! I totally wiped out all of my stereotypes about Islam at first and now I don't know... My spirit feel soothed, I mean everytime I have questions, doubts or problems, God's word (quran) literally give me answers.😊 I think people in the West misunderstand Islam because of some lost people but I hope one day they'll realize how much wisdom Islam has to offer. Hello! Salam alaikum! Yesss! I have a former SDA! Most people are like "What is SDA?!" Or if they know they believe SDAs are pretty intense as well lol but my family took it alright. The initial shock was of course anger and confusion. Then they started adjusting but they still haven questions. But nothing major. It's pretty much normal now. You can do it! The sooner you open up about it the sooner you will get through the adjustment period so you can live your life!

Very proud of you sister, you have joined a religion dominated mainly by the racist and less humble asian community especially the pakistani and Arabs, I almost gave up my religion because of these people, like I was a day away from getting baptised in a certain church, but the thing that changed my mind was how similar Islam was to the other religions I had been researching, I was lost and confused and I stayed at whole day praying to God to show me the way , I went to bed I couldn't sleep then my 5 yr old son walked into my room next morning and he says, waalaikum sallam dad, I laughed and asked him where he learned that from and he says they learned about Muslims at school and he told his teachers that he is a Muslim, there and then I knew Islam was good for me those racist Arabs and pakistanis don't own Islam, if anything they are the weak link of islam with their treatment of women and terrorism And racism and they are very judgmental towards other Muslims. So follow Islam not Muslims.

The resason why it is appropriate to say you are a revert is because every human being was born as a Muslim. We become who we are along the way due to our environment, culture, , or sometimes by our choice. So when you accept Islam later on in your life, or after you realize you are a Muslim, you are reverting back to the original faith. Therefore you are a revert.

I guess you should stick to the quran since it is the only unmodified authentic scripture from God. Also the quran is very deep in its meanings, understanding them depends on your sincerity with regards to being a good muslim and with God's grace only will you be able to comprehend its meanings. Sometimes i discover a meaning with God's grace even though i have been reading that exact verse for years. Hope this helps

Wallahi, please get this book called "Being Muslim by Asad Tarsin". I'm reading it now and it contains all the proper foundation and what to do step by step and why you're doing it as well as it's importance. It breaks it down in an easy to understand way. I would also really take advantage of this month of Ramadan! Go to the masjid and attend taraweeh nightly if you are able to. Also, there are tons of seminars and what not. Programs I am familiar with and have gone to are hosted by Almaghrib.org. They have many classes on different topics which are weekend long classes.
Thank you so much for replying! I have been fasting along with Reading the Quran. I'm quite scared of entering the mosque by myself I did it once and didn't feel very welcomed. However I will definitely purchase the book and try attend classes from a different mosque
cheza j MashAllah! I'm glad you've been fasting and reading Quran. And you're at the perfect stage right now! It's ok if you don't feel comfortable. Masjid hop until you find your home! I love just turning up at Masjids by myself when I'm in a new place. To me personally, every masjid feels like home. You just have to keep turning up and becoming a familiar face and I'm sure people will be drawn to you. Also, go for the sake of Allah not for the people, but the people will come. You'll start meeting everyone and make a few regular go to people you chat with, etc.
That's beautiful I agree I should go for Allah and focus on that connection. My family is Caribbean, Trinidad and Dominican Republic. My mother is not muslim, my father is, although I do learn from him it's hard to relate to a man who is well learned when I'm a beginner. I also want to learn things for myself.
Questions I'd love you to answer: 1- How many Christians have been to a mosque (and where) to preach Christianity; when and where will the next Christian preach in a mosque? 2 - If jihad really is as benign and spiritual as what you say it is, why do so many Muslims misunderstand it? 3- We always hear that jihadis were radicalized on the Internet. This assumes that mosques teach peaceful Islam and Muslims are misled by false versions of Islam that are available online. Why is the peaceful Islam that is presumably taught in the mosques not able in so many cases to withstand the appeal from this twisted, hijacked version?

The resason why it is appropriate to say you are a revert is because every human being was born as a Muslim. We become who we are along the way due to our environment, culture, , or sometimes by our choice. So when you accept Islam later on in your life, or after you realize you are a Muslim, you are reverting back to the original faith. Therefore you are a revert.

I guess you should stick to the quran since it is the only unmodified authentic scripture from God. Also the quran is very deep in its meanings, understanding them depends on your sincerity with regards to being a good muslim and with God's grace only will you be able to comprehend its meanings. Sometimes i discover a meaning with God's grace even though i have been reading that exact verse for years. Hope this helps

On that Allah's Apostle called Buraira and said, 'O Burair. Did you ever see anything which roused your suspicions about her?' Buraira said, 'No, by Allah Who has sent you with the Truth, I have never seen in her anything faulty except that she is a girl of immature age, who sometimes sleeps and leaves the dough for the goats to eat.' . . .
I was a young girl and did not have much knowledge of the Quran. I said. 'I know, by Allah, that you have listened to what people are saying and that has been planted in your minds and you have taken it as a truth. Now, if I told you that I am innocent and Allah knows that I am innocent, you would not believe me and if I confessed to you falsely that I am guilty, and Allah knows that I am innocent you would believe me.

Wallahi, please get this book called "Being Muslim by Asad Tarsin". I'm reading it now and it contains all the proper foundation and what to do step by step and why you're doing it as well as it's importance. It breaks it down in an easy to understand way. I would also really take advantage of this month of Ramadan! Go to the masjid and attend taraweeh nightly if you are able to. Also, there are tons of seminars and what not. Programs I am familiar with and have gone to are hosted by Almaghrib.org. They have many classes on different topics which are weekend long classes.
Thank you so much for replying! I have been fasting along with Reading the Quran. I'm quite scared of entering the mosque by myself I did it once and didn't feel very welcomed. However I will definitely purchase the book and try attend classes from a different mosque
cheza j MashAllah! I'm glad you've been fasting and reading Quran. And you're at the perfect stage right now! It's ok if you don't feel comfortable. Masjid hop until you find your home! I love just turning up at Masjids by myself when I'm in a new place. To me personally, every masjid feels like home. You just have to keep turning up and becoming a familiar face and I'm sure people will be drawn to you. Also, go for the sake of Allah not for the people, but the people will come. You'll start meeting everyone and make a few regular go to people you chat with, etc.

That's beautiful I agree I should go for Allah and focus on that connection. My family is Caribbean, Trinidad and Dominican Republic. My mother is not muslim, my father is, although I do learn from him it's hard to relate to a man who is well learned when I'm a beginner. I also want to learn things for myself.
Questions I'd love you to answer:
1- How many Christians have been to a mosque (and where) to preach Christianity; when and where will the next Christian preach in a mosque?
2 - If jihad really is as benign and spiritual as what you say it is, why do so many Muslims misunderstand it?
3- We always hear that jihadis were radicalized on the Internet. This assumes that mosques teach peaceful Islam and Muslims are misled by false versions of Islam that are available online. Why is the peaceful Islam that is presumably taught in the mosques not able in so many cases to withstand the appeal from this twisted, hijacked version?
