- Joel Klatt returns to The Herd after another exciting weekend of College Football. He and Colin Cowherd talk the Lincoln Riley effect on the USC Trojans, who are now 2-0 after defeating Stanford. Klatt tells Colin why he believes the Trojans are better than Kyler Murray's 2018 Oklahoma Sooners team, and why he thinks they are a surefire playoff team, barring injury. They also talk the Texas Longhorns who only just missed out on a win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, and Klatt tells Colin whether he still believes Nick Saban's team is a top caliber team. Klatt also reveals his Top 10 college teams for the 2022 season.

He’s trying to say the biggest thing, the most out of left field thing, or something crazy Until something sticks and he can get his name out there that he was the guy that called some crazy turn of events. @@ben_east_ he not a big hit with Sooners fans. A lot of Sooners fans don’t consider RJ a sooner fan anymore. Because he talk a lot of Ohio State football. He dose not have any of his Sooners stuff on the wall. RJ use to have Baker planting the flag at the horseshoe.

I love Joel and his segments whether here or on breaking the huddle. Also enjoying the new podcast, but I’m going to need new Joel segments. This video is essentially todays podcast, same topics, same stats. I wouldn’t be surprised if that hurts his growth or Colin’s views.

Stanford is a conference foe and they played at home
West coast teams "stats" always look good because they run-up scores(keep starters in when their up 40 points) and dont play defense lol I bet Oregon's stats for the rest of the year will look great too. But we all see the Georgia game and remember o yea they cant do it against top defenses.
@@wejuggernautentertainmentl3156 Stanford hasn't beaten an FBS team since last October. They're awful. Fresno and Oregon State will be a better gauge on how good USC is in offense.

I absolutely love how Klatt comes on and sets Colins straight on so many things and isn't afraid to tell him right to him that he is wrong. Klatt is the real deal, a real professional, and a media member who ACTUALLY knows what he is talking about. How refreshing.

@@F1Purist1950 it’s funny cause if we had the playoff back in 2000’s then usc would’ve won 5 titles, cause you know that’s how Alabama won theirs having one choke per year but it doesn’t effect them cause they always still get voted in the playoff

@@F1Purist1950 I’m confident in it. We would choke against Stanford and bad teams once a year sometimes twice but would usually destroy ranked good teams. During that stretch we owned the sec and the big 10 teams we’d play in the rose bowl. Destroyed auburn who was the 2nd best sec team before Florida got really good. One Texas Vince young play from going back to back to back in the bcs era. I wouldn’t loved to see what could’ve happened.

USC fan here, I agree with you. Let's play some more games before we get too excited. Things look really good, especially on offense. But USC generates excess attention, haters gonna hate, fans desperate for competent coaching and meaningful games, are going a little crazy right now.

Oklahoma has a whole new staff with a new quarterback and played nobody but only put up 7 by halftime at home against Kent state. Clemson is clearly struggling against inferior opponents. Usc is way ahead of schedule, if the defense even becomes average their a top 5 team. Kinda like that lsu team with burrow. If their d gets good next year or so they are gonna be top 2 maybe 3. Texas was right next door. In fact, that’s the #1 state to recruit from and still…whatever.
Next year they probably take a step back on offense. Addison won the Biltetnikow Award at Pitt and Williams was already an very good college QB at Oklahoma. Vorheer is also an elite interior draft prospect.

Reason why USC will not make the playoffs, even with an undefeated season is. The SEC gets Alabama and Georgia by default. Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State will all go undefeated. USC simply started the season to low.

JJ and UofM are over 15 yards per play right now 😳 if our starters played every snap we'd have ridiculous stats. We jist don't move like that. We want championships not stats
Michigan has looked really good on offense, but they've played two of the worst teams in FBS. Hawaii gave up over 60 points to Vanderbilt and Colorado State just got blown out by Middle TN..lol.
The only problem is Reilly has never had a decent defense and that prevented him from winning a national championship . USC hasn't had a decent defense since Pete Carroll . You look at the top 5 their defenses makes USC defense look like toddlers . I give them some credit in the RedZone and turnovers . Stanford rode right through the defense and they looked like giants to uscs defense . Now stopping Stanford may have been more about couching and I give the defensive coach some credit . If they can get some big stoute guys on that defensive line they will be in the conversation
One thing to remember is Stanford introduced the slow mesh for the first time and caught SC by surprise. The next two games against Fresno and Beavs will give more clear data

Stanford and Stanford scored 28 points on USC. USC only beat Stanford by 13 points.
