Oregon? A game? Penn State? Michigan? Ohio State will have it's first real game in the playoff. Another Ohio State alum's take. But also a Georgia alum, so maybe a different perspective.
OSU is doing exactly what they should do against the teams they have played. This whole notion of "they haven't played anyone" is just dumb. Especially when they are doing what they should be doing. Handling business
Texas and Oklahoma’s SEC opponent’s record last year. Texas: 51-46 Oklahoma: 59-25 it’s clear who has the harder schedule, so Texas will be #1 for possibly the entire year. and if they struggle against a weak team, since they moved Georgia they may move Texas for one or two weeks. as for Tennessee being a national championship contender, they’ll make the CFP at 10-2, I don’t see them beating Georgia no shot at Athens, i’ll give them a 50% chance at home vs Alabama
Ain’t no way you said they have an easy schedule when they beat Michigan and go up against Georgia and and Oklahoma…like what. Just cause they had their gimmies early (which they blew out down to 3rd stringers)
@@cash3015 As a Texas fan we definitely have an easier schedule compared to other SEC teams. Don't have to play Bama, Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU, or Mizzou. Our only tough games are Georgia and OU, and OU isn't tough because they're particularly good - it's only tough because of the rivalry, anything can happen in that game year-in, year-out. Rankings dont mean anything till week 7. Look at how many teams dropped out of the top10 already look at how many dropped out of the top 25. Why the CFP doesnt rank till way later in the season
@@DC-km8sgagreed. The best we can do early in the season is group teams into tiers and adjust as we go. Meanwhile, when Joel Klatt suggests that a team like Miami with zero quality wins is somehow at a higher level than a team with at least a plausible quality win like Tennessee over Ok (which I wouldn't take overly seriously at this point), we have to laugh and call it out. It's all part of the fun of debating the state of the game from week to week. 😅
Yeah that was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Ohio State is nowhere near the level of 2019 LSU or 2020 Alabama. They're not even as good at 2011 Alabama/LSU. They're certainly a great squad but I highly question the passing game especially against a good secondary and their offensive line against good defenses. Their defense should be performing better than they have been based on talent. They have a lot to improve on before they're even in the same discussion as those teams.
3 games into the season pump the breaks…. We don’t know yet but coming from a coach who’s coached against both I’ll take his word over yours. Call me crazy but we can’t discredit or give substance to anyone right now.
Wait, didn't Joel Klatt and Colin say Mich was the best team in the country week 1 last year? They both picked them to win the Natty... So that composite means nothing when comparing Tennessee to Michigan
The composite is about the prospect rankings coming out of Highschool in the recent recruiting classes. Michigan won because they had less guys leaving for the NFL which had still college eligebility left than Alabama(Bryce Young,Will Anderson...), Ohio State (CJ Stroud, Paris Johnson...) or Georgia (Broderick Jones, ...).

You know schedules are made years in advance right? And I don't think I've ever seen someone call Ohio State's schedule "smart". @@DERodgers ya probably could have said the same thing about Michigan last year after non conference. I was mostly looking at the bucks non conference this year
@@MarkHoezee well non conference games are usually scheduled a couple years in advance. So that means Michigan had Texas scheduled probably like 5 years ago for this season. Then they play Alabama the next two seasons after that. Then in 2029 they have another "cupcake" schedule. Then in 2030 and 31 they are scheduled to play Georgia. OSU offense is insanely explosive. The defense has yet to come to form. But if the offense keeps their pace the defense doesn't have to dominate, they just need to hold their own. 💯
USC didn’t lose by “one broken tackle”….they lost by about 10 broken tackles (3 of which were on UM’s last scoring play) along with a pick-six. OSU is just getting reps in real games with these first three easy opponents, which I think is a huge benefit for them. I won't be surprised if they start rolling through their conference.
I hear what Joel is saying about Ohio State and expending early injury but I think having some early season tough games makes a team battle tested by the end of the year. If you play nobody until the end of the year, you might pay the price when you finally get a tough or tight game.
