I know it’s been 3 years since you posted this video but regardless I wanted to say thank you for positing it. Recently my daughter has started watching Sesame Street and as Mr Noodles brother showed up I immediately recognized him from Jurassic Park 3 and then made me realize just how many films I’ve seen this man in. So obviously I wanted to learn a little more about him, especially once I discovered how he passed so long ago, so this video was absolutely everything I wanted to know, so thank you for making this great video!
Michael Jeter's story is very inspiring. That he chose to continue his career and not throw it all away is very powerful. My dream is to become a filmmaker, screenwriter, director, producer and maybe an actor if they like me. Thank you for making this Brandon and RIP Michael Jeter.
I can't express the gravity of excitement I have to finally see these returning! The Vincent Schiavelli was my favorite & I treasured it so much. I have a huge appreciation for the passion & true commitment to painting these immortalizing vignettes detailing the lives of such humbled yet masterful talent! You do such an incredibly great job shining the spotlight on the careers of these character actors. I just hope to see the Schiavelli spotlight posted again - your coverage of his later life in Italy & his cooking is so beautifully executed & appropriate. I'm from a Sicilian bloodline & can speak confidently on the justice you served by covering the aspect of Italians & their relationship to food - there's such a care & love put into the preparation of such meals. Apologies for the novel. It just made my day to see these back!
Thank you. I appreciated so very much his Fisher King presence & charismatic performances with such heart. He's forever part of my Be-ing. So great & wonderful. Miss seeing him in New things.
A top tier favorite actor & your summary video does justice to his life & the future that followed his performances (including his husband who stuck by him & i just learned, also sadly passed in 2020). Thank you again for a great tribute
This video inspired me to look into the performing arts. I've seen it dozens of times, and probably will a dozen more in the future. It's great to see it back on RUclips. Thanks Brandon.
Michael Jeter was truly one of the greatest character actors of the last four or five decades. I would absolutely love to see a Supporting Actor Spotlights analysis on the career and life of Robert Prosky, another of the all-time greats.
I remembered a few of his roles but I couldn't believe I forgot his Iconic role as Mr.Noodle. I remember I used to love when he was on the most and I can't believe I've grown up with him since I was toddler. R.I.P.
Every time one of these is re-uploaded I click on it just to watch a minute or two since I've already seen them so many times. And every time I just end up watching the whole thing.
This video was so inspirational as Hell. I’m in a crossroads in my life over choosing a chance at a career or not going to school at all and just worry about making money over being happy. It’s good to see not giving up pays off eventually.
This man has been in my top 10 character actors of all time since I saw him in the fisher king in the 2000s. Not to mention the green mile. Thank you so much for this great tribute to a great actor and even better human being.
I can tell you, the same night I saw the most amazing performance in June of 1990 on the Tony awards (better then any regular performance) - From his own mouth, Burt Reynolds said I was watching the Tony awards and up popped this amazing man doing wonderful thing and I said we can use him on the show." Evening Shade."
Just one slight correction, Brent Barrett performed with Jeter in Grand Hotel at the Tony Awards. Lovely tribute video and dive into his career either way.
Michael was an amazing talent, I wished I had seen him in Grand Hotel. Condolences to Sean, his partner at the time. I remember talking about him. Even 18 years after his death, he still pops up in movies and brings a smile to my face.
its great to see you back, i use to love your old series. which i first found one day when i was looking up Michael Jeter clips. his song in the Fisher King is one of my favorite scenes of all time. and the clip from "the Grand hotel" which i had never seen before watching this is incredible, his movement is absolutely amazing. he flies across that stage like Astaire.
Mr. Jeter was great in The Green Mile,Jurassic Park 3, and the movie with the boy and his dog that could play basketball the title of the movie escapes me. Sad that he is no longer with us.
The Green Mile is like the second coming of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, so many cool character actors. Some of my favorites like Doug Hutchinson, Sam Rockwell, David Morse, Harry Dean Stanton, James Cromwell, Jeffrey deMunn, and so on. Awesome movie all around too.
I still regularly watch the Tony performance of "Take a Glass" thanks to this video. I've even found footage of the original production of Grand Hotel to watch and it's really wonderful. That Tony was so well deserved. It's crazy that I only knew him as Mr. Noodle, the recruit with the nail polish in Hair, and the teacher from Sister Act 2, and had no idea about his body of work before No Small Parts. I wish he was still with us🙏🏾 As always, thank you again for the re-upload💕
I was introduced to Michael's work through the 1989 live broadcast of the Tony Awards and Grand Hotel performance of "Let's Raise a Glass." I still love re-watching this video with his mesmerizing dancing! I then saw Mark Baker play the same part in the national touring show of Grand Hotel in Phoenix the next year (1990).
I'm very glad I found this video. I am a big fan of Jeter's work. And thank you for clarifying his passing. I'd not looked into his death since it happened and have been living with the erroneous knowledge that he'd died from HIV/AIDS that I heard at the time. Now I know it was a seizure.
Wonderful Tribute. But if I'm not mistaken, the actor who appears in the Tony segment from Grand Hotel with Michael Jeter is Brett Barrett. David Carroll, whose name you mention, originated the role of the Baron on Broadway, but this is Mr. Barrett, not Mr. Carroll.
Michael was one of the nicest guys to walk on this planet. FYI that is not David Carroll in the bar scene with Michael in Grand Hotel . He originated the role but had to leave the production early due to illness and he was replaced by Brent Barrett who appears in the Tony awards performance.
he was so, so talented. and utterly adorale. like you, I love the song he has in fisher king. that charm just reaches through the screen and makes me smile every time I see it.
over the years the characters he's played has always caught my attention and I remember looking him up on IMDB after watching Open Range and was delighted to find out he was the same guy who caught my attention in Green Mile and then discovered so many other roles which I've seen him in that suddenly came to mind. What a talent, he is greatly missed.
I clearly remember his first few appearances as the other mr. Noodle or mr. Noodles brother in the 90s when the tall guy was still there they appeared together a couple of times
Michael Jeter is actually dancing with Brent Barrett in "Grand Hotel" at the Tony Awards. The original actor mentioned, David Carroll, had to drop out of the show due to poor health and died soon after.
The Tony video of “We’ll Take a Drink Together” is Brent Barrett not David Carroll. However Carroll is in the Macy’s Parade performance of the same number.
David Carroll originated the role of the Baron in The Grand Hotel and is shown in the open air clip outside Macys. Unfortunately he died of a pulmonary embolism at the New York City BMG/RCA studio while attempting to record the cast album for Grand Hotel. Brent Barrett replaced him and is the one performing with the stupendous Michael at The Tonys.
I teared up badly when his character was wrongly executed in "The Green Mile" and I definitely lost it when Mr. Jingles got stomped. He contributed so much to that film, I actually still can't bear to watch that movie too many times for those reasons, it's an emotionally draining movie.
He wasn’t “wrongfully executed”, that would mean Del was innocent, the execution was botched. I don’t know if it was ever explained in the movie, but in the book Eduard Delacroix was on death row for raping and murdering a girl, tried to cover up his crime by burning her body, but the fire got out of control and burned down a nearby apartment building, killing six more people. So while Del may not have deserved such an agonizing death, he was certainly no angel. Michael Jeter was a fantastic actor and played the part masterfully, he deserves the same praise as Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan get for that movie.
@@johnselwitz5362 True, I don’t remember if it’s fully stated either (been a long time since a gave it a full watch through)but I’m sure there is a mention or a nod to his crime. Tom Hanks character does say something to tune of “ we aren’t here to judge these prisoners, just look after them till it’s their time to go down the mile” to Percy when he’s trying to justify his aggressive behaviour of the prisoners. I remember that watching that movie, i did feel a pity for Delacroix over the course of his time in the movie. I had read the book previous to seeing the film so I knew his heinous crime but with Michael Jeter’s performance you definitely felt that his character had regrets over his actions and wanted to be a better person (unlike Wild Bill or Percy Wetmore) Michael Jeter definitely made everyone feel horrified when his execution was at hand and disgust at Percy for such a disrespectful way of dealing with Delacroix. All to say he was an incredible actor in that movie and alongside Tom Hanks, Michael Clark Duncan, Sam Rockwell and the rest of the cast he absolutely smashed it out the park.
@@jammin2575 While I’m not a religious person myself, I do appreciate the biblical references in The Green Mile, you had John Coffey as a reference to Jesus Christ while Del and Wild Bill represented the two thieves who were crucified alongside Jesus, Del represented the Penitent Thief as he was remorseful for what he had done and asked for forgiveness while Bill was the Impenitent Thief, who mocked Coffey and was full of sin until the very end. It’s why by the end, Del becomes a much more sympathetic character even for those who had read the book and knew about the horrific crime he committed, because I’ve seen the movie several times, I don’t think they ever mentioned what Del actually did to wind up on The Mile, unless it’s in a deleted scene that I haven’t watched. And I know what scene you’re talking about, Paul Edgecombe is explaining to Percy that working on death row should be no different than working at the intensive care unit of a hospital, in which Percy just scoffs and mocks his fellow coworkers for showing compassion to those who he thinks doesn’t deserve any. Jeter was fantastic in that movie and I don’t think he ever got the recognition he deserved, although his performance in The Green Mile was a reason why he got a pretty significant role in the third Jurassic Park movie. But the fact that he wasn’t even nominated for a Oscar for his performance is a shame, he was a big reason why the movie is so good and is revered to this day by many people.

my heart bled when he won the Tony. he had a very contagious cry, you can't help but cry with him.
There's something so special and endearing about the late, great Michael Jeter.....he was magic. RIP 💔
Michael Jeter is one of my favoritest actors! Oh, he was SO Talented! Love Love
Open Range (2003) and The Polar Express (2004) are Michael Jeter's posthumous roles and his last 2 movies were thus dedicated to his memory.
Yeah
Michael Jeter played Smokey and Steamer (motion capture only) in The Polar Express. And then, Michael Jeter died of HIV/AIDS.
@@noblemattox188 Actually, he passed away from a seizure/asphyxiation.
