2:18 "PS-LX310fgabcdefg" lmfaoo. nice vid might cop
i died lol
Auto cue and return, aluminium platter ,thick mat, good stylus, Mp3 convert, bluetooth great mimalistic look, top brand, and excellent reviews everywhere. A no brainer at the current price of £179 Cool reviewer answered all my questions in the vid thank you.
Only downside you can't fit anyone else's stylus
This Sony is a great sounding player, even though it offers blue tooth options. The options are great but if you want use this a just a killer record player, without the options, it does that also IMO!
Best review on this model out there ! Simple clean and neat
Thank you very much.
Love that review! Smooth voice, pictures and music! Wow!
Very nice review, and loved your choice of music as a demonstration.
Thanks very much.
i got it for 150 dollars and it was NEW. The only thing why got it so cheap was because it was the demo at my loacal electronic shop. Pretty happy :D
Nice I bought a “used one” from Best Buy for 135 and it’s brand new and works perfect
Just bought one- they are not to be found on Amazon. Went to Best Buy and they had one. Getting it shipped because of the CV issue, and it made sense. Packaging is Sony Solid not worried about damage.
Can't wait the three days to get it- I have 30 years worth of vinyl to play.
Nice! I love mine.
@@Roos-Reviews I got today- Setup took less time than unpacking the thing, like i said. The only thing that I don't like is the RCA's are built in. I didn't catch that. Otherwise, I love it. Spinning some vinyl that is over 25 years old, and now I'm out on the hunt for new stuff.
It's actually quite common to have Bluetooth in record players! Reloop Turn 3 is a seriously good option in the market.
I have this turntable. Sony uses the same AT3600L cartridge in this as is used in all the low end turntables. However, Sony appears to have compensated for the ho hum cartridge with an absolutely awesome pre-amp. The sound is not just accurate, but nuanced. It sounds like a turntable costing twice as much as it does. Unfortunately, the automatic mechanism is the same one used in all the others as well. And like all the other automatics, it only functions when it wants to. I just play it manually. No big deal.
I bought one and love it. It's playing right now :)
Nice!
Don’t be fooled by the way the buttons feel. They actually hold together just fine. But they’re deliberately spring loaded to give a retro field to them. But I think that with the exception of the up-and-down button, which by the way is called queuing, I think these are actually digital controls. They do move a little bit, but they won’t fall off. I’ve been using mine quite a bit and it’s held up reasonably well. My favorite feature is how it flawlessly cues the record without making any disturbing noises. But unless you want to queue the tone arm at a specific point on the record, there really is no need to use that right hand button. By the way, are you from Ireland or something?
Well done! Thanks for a nice review!
i have this. Simply awesome
That sound sample looked badly clipped. I think that's what the Gain Select switch on the back is for.
I wonder if by using blue tooth you lose the analog feeling tho...
exactly what I was thinking, but option for that is good to have I think
Great review with a bit of good placed humor! Mine Sony PS-LX310fgabcdefg is on it's way.
Haha, thanks. It's a good product, despite the awkward name.
Only thing I don’t like is the wired cables. Give us jacks for £180
Hey Roo!
Or anyone else! I really need some help.
I can't pair my player with any speaker or headphones.
The indicator never lights up. It's just dark. I try to push it down for 2 seconds...Nothing. Do you think my player is broken?
It sounds like you may have a problem, yes. Have you tried holding the bluetooth button for longer than that? Keep holding it until the light flashes.
@@Roos-Reviews Thanks for your reply! I actually managed to make it work! I think it was my computer that was on that messed with the players Bluetooth. When I closed the computer all of sudden the players lights started to work again and I managed to pair the player with my speaker. All good :)
Nice!
Great review. What software did you use to rip mp3 from vinyl
If only they'd make a cassette player with Bluetooth next, preferably with Dolby Noise Reduction or some modern equivalent. Maybe with a built-in DAB+ Radio too. That would be amazing.
i just got this record player today but when i put my vinyl on, it often skips words and things like that
How slowly does it que the record? This is so you do not damage the stylus when lowering.
I just bought this and even though it pairs with my akai Bluetooth speaker, it doesn't play the music..I don't know what's wrong, I'm new to this and I feel like a clown right now. 😅
Great review, concise and to the point, nice videohraphy as well. Ignore the borebags banging on about records/vinyls, jesus wept 😂
Thanks!
Love this review & reviewer! I can't find what cartridge this Sony has? Sony's own maybe? But you can't change the cartridge? How about the stylus can it be upgraded to elliptical or something like that?
Audio technica
Hey, I got a question about this turntable.
Is USB recording quality any good? Is it 16bit/44.1khz, 48khz quality? and when you connect it to the PC, does your PC recognize it as a recording device?
Thank you for a great video!
Skip on this model and better get the PS HX500.
How is it at playing newer vinyl records? I have a cheaper turntable and it has issues playing newer vinyls.
It’s great. This is a good quality, solid turntable. I think for entry level it can’t be beat.
Hopefully someone can help me make sure I’m setting this up correctly.
I’m plugging this into my Yamaha receiver with a phono input. Would the correct way be to switch it to phono on the turntable if doing so? Or go with line out on the turntable, and connecting to phono or another input? Thanks for any help.
Great review. Does it have adjustment of tracking force and anti-skating or will just shred your old, rare, valueable vinyls? 😮
T4P and linear tracking turntables did not have adjustments for tracking force or anti skate devices. The cartridges were all a standard weight, the tone arms were designed and manufactured to track at a pre determined weight. Usually about 1.5 gms. "Audiophiles" hated them for the same reason that some car enthusiasts. hate the modern cars. They're reliable and there is no need for tinkering.
Hello, I have a problem mine, I’m trying to connect my Bluetooth speaker but the button on the turntable just remains Orange, even after I hold it down, it just doesn’t want to pair, does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks for the review on the turntable. What would be the best player out of the this Sony model and the Audio Technica AT-LP60XBT?
I haven't used the Audio Technica AT-LP60XBT, sorry.
I had that same question...
@@free2bwild913 I ended up buying the Audio Technica AT-LP60XBT for my partner for Christmas. It works great 👍🏻 I paired it with my UE Boom 3 portable speaker🔊 and I just take the speaker from room to room when I clean.
@@kel06901 thanks, that’s even cheaper. Dumb question, what is a boom speaker? I want to get back into a Music system but the last time I had one was when there were cords and receivers and big speakers lol
@@free2bwild913 The Ultimate Ears Boom 3 portable Bluetooth Speaker. Google it to find out more. I paired the Record Player & speaker together.
I,m gonna check this out at Richer sounds with my Bluetooth Line 6 Amplifi guitar amp, if they will let me.
I have this turntable and im trying to digitize my vinyls on to my laptop which is a chromebook. Can anyone tell me what software to use and that other thing I need to digitize my records? please and thank you
Ok. So i am new to this how would i change the stylus?
The author sounds like a narrator to some 18th-century romance movie.
Excelent video!👌thanks for sharing this review! It's important to me as I want to buy one. I have a question, how do you convert the music to mp3 files and what software do you use? 2:29
Cheers👍
I guess he didn’t know and I don’t either 😂
I see there's a button where you have to choose between 7" and 12". Is this only for the automatic option or isn't it possible to play a 10" at all?
Your comment is 10 months old but those buttons only matter for the automatic features. Meaning, if you press "start", where the needle will land on the platter automatically. For this or any automatic turntable, you just manually place the stylus for the 10 inch and it'll be just fine.
Records, records, records, records, albums ,albums, albums, albums, albums, records, records, records!
One question I have is that can you move the arm manually as well as automatically
Yes, you can, just like a normal record player.
Roo's Reviews ok good and I’m looking to buy my first record player and is this one a good one to start with.
Is your turntable needle chattering? I bought the same and I constantly hear the music from the TURNTABLE (not the speakers) on low volume while playing, which is kinda annoying. Of course I hear music well from the speakers as well, but the low music sound from the turntable is disturbing I think
All turntables produce music at the point where the needle meets the record. It’s because of how record players work. It’s unavoidable unless you soundproof the lid and the whole exterior.
CLOSE THE DUST COVER.
Awesome review 👍
Thanks, Gijesh.
@@Roos-Reviews you're welcome 🙂
This player does not come with a USB connection on the rear. All the photos online don't show this. How come there is a connection on your unit?
When I google this model all the images I see show the USB port the same as mine. Are you sure you are searching for the same model?
The UK (or European?) version doesn't seem to have a USB port. Disappointing - it looked ideal for me otherwise.
Cool Voice 👍🏼
Just wondering if anyone can help out... I have this record player at home. I have recently had to change the stylus on it. I successfully changed he stylus, however now I can hear the record playing but the record wont play through the bluetooth speaker, which it is saying its connected to ... it worked fine previously. Can anyone help?
This is a case of correlation doesnt equal causation. Replacing the stylus shouldnt affect whether the Bluetooth functionality works or not.
I'd contact Sony
can i just connect him to my TV stereo system, it's a good one, i don't wanna buy more speakers
where is speaker
It's a nice turntable
Hi! Could you please tell me what sound does your unit makes when the motor is running but without any music? Mine is quite loud and I hear it always when I listen to the music on low volume. I want to check if it's the problem of this model or just my unit. I'd be grateful for the help! Greets
Mine is silent.
Kania Kaniowski Do you mean that you hear the music FROM the turntable, on low volume?
Cool SONY turntable
Can we change the needle
Yes.
Yes you can buy the replacement needle from Sony here: sony.encompass.com/item/12323563/Sony/9-301-000-82/. But I recommend to buy this upgrade replacement from LPGear, which costs a little bit more but it helps improving the sound quality quite a bit: www.lpgear.com/product/STPSLX310BTUPG.html. You also can buy a normal replacement with cheaper price anyway: www.lpgear.com/product/STPSLX310B.html
@@huytruc73 Thanks for this info, and if I may ask you as I am totally new with Vinyl and I am plan to but this on from Sony.
What is the life circle for the needle before it is need to change? And can I setup other needle brand to it or it will not fit?
@@MetalEyez They said it would last for at least 1000 hours (i.e. about 1 year if you play an average 3 hours daily). For this specific model of turntable you must replace it with the original one from Sony or a compatible model such as the ones from LPGear I mentioned above.
@@huytruc73 Thanks for the info man, really appreciated!
I will buy one and I will get the upgrade needle that you recommend it on your previous comment!
Great video
Can I play music on regular wired headphones?
No , it only supports bluetooth
Anyone knows the music that plays in the background?
This sounds like asmr lol
Why i get very low volume on my speakers even on max volume and high?
Did you try adjusting the switch on the rear for output level?
@@Roos-Reviews i tried everything but i still get very low volume, now i bought pioneer dm40 bluetooth speakers to trie agsin,on my way home.
Did you adjust the three way adj. switch at the back of the phono player. I got the same model as you. I experienced the same as you when I operated it. I have a reciever Yamaha Natural Sound RX-495 circa 2004 model , 2 channel stereo when I pressed the direct button above the master volume control of my reciever the sound of my phono player becomes louder.
turntables naturally play at low volume (phono level) they need to be converted to line level via the phono pre-amp that is either built in or external.
well done
Hey whats the name of the song
March of the Elephants
Roo's Reviews thanks
Roo's Reviews no im talking about the other one
@@Sharischampis Beethoven's 5th symphony, if that is the one you're looking for, or still looking after 3 years 🤙
How much is whight of the arm and needles?
Just bought one but the integral sound is very low and can't change it, I have no clue if its normal
Nice video
I cant find any side who promote it with a usb port.. how do u get the digital version of your songs with this table?
Mine has a USB port on the back. The same kind of port as on a printer.
No USB!
Some have, some don’t. Mine doesn’t.
I believe the European model doesn’t; the US one does. So if you need usb you need to get the one intended for the US market.
That blue led in the background is really annoying.
Good review, but it's not a "vinyl player". No chunks of vinylite plastic are being popped on, instead a final product which has had much done to it in-between, that final product is a "record". And this is a 'record player', 'turntable', or even 'phonograph', but "vinyl player" it is not. Unfortunately those have been yet to be invented. But otherwise good video, thank you.
The discs are referred to as "vinyl" because when they were invented they were made from a petroleum-derived plastic called "vinyl", hence the widely accepted term "vinyl records". The device that plays these records is called a "vinyl record player" or "vinyl player" for short, among other names as you mentioned. In my home country many even call the records "vinyls" much to the annoyance of some of my friends in other countries who hate the plural use.
Maybe your comment was just for humour, I'm not sure, but "vinyl" is a really common descriptor for this format.
No USB!
Doesn’t have the USB port in UK. At least mine doesn’t.
USB is North America only
🙌🏻⚡️👏🏻
Buy the best sounding bluetooth speaker for it. Not some tinny sounding cheap ass bluetooth speakers
The speaker I used in the vid was to demonstrate the bluetooth feature. I don't actually listen to it on that speaker. I use Yamaha studio speakers.
FYI: It's called a turntable, not a vinyl player, because it can play records made of styrene, too, not just vinyl. And vinyl does not get a plural form -- it's a collective noun, just like furniture and money -- both of which you'll need if you wish to have a large record collection. :-)
VWestlife Yeah, “vinyls” is not correct but that’s what I’ve always called them.
“Turntable”, “record player” and “vinyl record player” are all accepted terms though. Even “vinyl player” makes more sense to many young people than “turntable” as most know the word “vinyl”, even if they don’t know that a turntable is something that plays vinyl records.
But many 7-inch 45 RPM records were made of styrene, not vinyl, and calling it a "vinyl player" might give people the false impression that it cannot play styrene records.
You’re very much correct. To be honest though, I think the chance of someone watching the video and ending up being confused about what this is, is close to 0%. But you are absolutely correct with the terminology and I do appreciate when people use terminology and language in general, accurately. I don’t think I own any styrene records. I always assumed all of mine were vinyl. You have sent me on a fascinating research trip now.
To be fair, I believe styrene records were only made in the USA, so they're probably rather uncommon across the pond. But if you have any 7" U.S. import 45s (with the big center hole), they very well could be styrene rather than vinyl.
😂
Belt driven. Sony can go to hell.
