Even with this in mind an absolute masterpiece of sound design.
Hmmm I didn't know the PPSh drum was 71 rounds, but knowing that it explains the box capacity of my surplus 7.62x25 ammunition that I thought a bit off. The boxes of surplus ammo I have came in boxes of 70, which seemed odd considering the tokarev pistol and original magazines I use it with hold 8, which I often down load to 7 so that the numbers line up. Though I suppose it was sold as hard primer sub machinegun ammo so I shouldn't be surprised, though now it does bother me that the stick mags are 32 round and the ammo comes in blocks of 70, surely they should be 35 round.
I believe the box mags are indeed 35rd capacity. They are in Tarkov, anyway, so I assume Mr Ferguson misspoke. That's a detail that would be very un-Tarkov to miss.
I would love for you guys to show Jonathan more of the mechanics of the guns in tarkov. For instance chamber loading and unloading, all of the jams, overheating, maybe some super long distance Sniping with tracers to showcase the ballistics, would be cool!
40mm HE round actually just penetrates human torso when it hits from a close distance. It's not blunt trauma at all, it's lethal. You can check Garand Thumb video about this for reference.
Doubtful that Jonathan will see this, but I wanted to just say in general that I really enjoyed my trip to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds to everyone else in the comments section! It was definitely a bit of a detour for me, traveling back from Edinburg to London, but I personally really enjoyed the displays and exhibitions. Unfortunately I missed the events going on by a few weeks due to timing, but I highly recommend anyone else who enjoys arms and armor to take the trip if they get the chance! Leeds is a rather bland city all in all but the Royal Armouries Museum there is worth a day trip for sure.
One detail that Jonathan missed (I've been waiting years to say that) is that when the player used the Milkor at close range it looked like he was using the m apers (I think) 40mm buckshot round. Very cool in game to use
7:52 that's the 40x46mm M576 (MP-APERS) grenade from how it looked hitting that scav. Pretty much a 40mm canister of buckshot, hilariously over effective on soft targets in the game.

@@Mr_T_Badger I like suggesting The Division games because it's a 3rd person with tons of customization. Pretty much all the games on here are generic 1st person games. Plus the semi-futuristic skill devices may be worth mentioning.
I have a bit of a love affair with the g36, it was ahead of it's time, completely ambidextrous in every way with a middle charging handle and mag release, and a fire selector on both sides, the rail doubles as a charging handle, and from what I've heard rarely causes the sight over bore issues people claim. The one very real issue the weapon system had was the terrible choice of barrel type. Pencil barrels don't put up with repeated full auto cycling well, and they whip easily when hot. Not bueno
Grand Thumb did a video about grenade launchers and their close range damage using a ballistic torso. Without any protective gear on the torso the grenade sailed through.
Once the event is over you should really do another Hunt:Showdown video. The Alofs, Sparks Pistol, Obrez drum, Scottfeild, Uppercut and Lebel are all pretty interesting weapons I would love to see Jonathans take on.
id love someone to explain to him the stats of weapons and show him how some setups that hes seen used in real life preform and then see the best guns in the game and the builds that you use for them
So as far as the grenade launcher, garand thumb did a video where he took HE rounds without the fuse in them and shot a ballistic gel torso with them. It went straight through them when shot at close range i to soft spots like the stomach
About the "much maligned" part with the G36: The version the UK has (which he shows, export version with the low top rail) doesnt have the same problems as the genuine Bundeswehr configuration with the integral optics (shown later). The BW ones have a tendency to break zero after heating up, courtesy of weak plastics holding the optics. This was not in fact a mistake by HK, but a failure of the german ordnance department who wanted the cheaper option.
12:40 Fun fact, blind firing as a uniformed combatant is a war crime under the Geneva convention rules. Probably why Johnathan said it’s I’ll advised that a trained soldier do that lol.
On the double barreled shotgun the right shell (slug) primer doesn't show the firing pin indentation after it's been fired. I also find it kind of weird that they show a brand name on the left shell but only "12 Gauge" on the right for a headstamp. Just being picky, as the overall images are simply amazing.
Most guns and ammo have their proper names in the game and if the slug doesn't it's most likely due to the company, in this case Remington I believe, being difficult threatening with trademark lawsuits etc. As for the intendation, it's most likely a bug. Usually checks are correct in Tarkov, at least on revolvers and shotguns, so it will be fixed I'm sure. It's still in beta and not finished. Super fun though and the best game ever imo. Edit: I checked again, zoomed in. The second has a spent primer too, it's just the light hiding it.

One thing you have touched on in every breakdown so far is the sound design and I will not be the first to say tarkov is so realistic it hurts sometimes 🤣 you could be listening closely for footsteps and then you’re mate 3 metres away fires a 12 gauge next to your head in a massive reverb heavy shopping centre… deafening you irl whilst giving you a heart attack at the same time. Even with this in mind an absolute masterpiece of sound design.
Jonathan, you’re a gem.
8:20 just so you know, there are "shotgun" shrapnel rounds for the GL. Ideal for close range
*Johnathan, please react to Wolfenstein or Homefront: The Revolution next whenever you get the chance.*
8:20 The legendary and entertaining Garand Thumb did a video on this with the aforementioned gel body.
My dream is sitting across from Jonathan as we have a candle-lit dinner, listening to him as he orates the deep lore of guns to me.
I always love when he reviews tarkov guns
11:06
That is actually a real stock, it is the PRS GEN3 Precision-Adjustable Stock from Magpul, it's made for AR-15 buffer tubes, which that PP-19 has
@15:40 "with my lack of training" with his finger on the trigger lol
We need a part 5 on this
“When your gun goes click, it’s panic time”
Absolutely hilarious
As soon as I see one of these, instant click, instant like and I am never disappointed. Top quality content.
40mm HE round actually just penetrates human torso when it hits from a close distance. It's not blunt trauma at all, it's lethal. You can check Garand Thumb video about this for reference.
Finally. Jonathan reacting to EfT guns is just always entertaining!
This game is so amazing from a gun enthusiasts perspective. I watch a lot of Tarkov and I don’t even have a PC to play the game!
a side note for when hes using 7:45 in close range it appears that he has loaded a "buckshot grenade"
17:30 did anyone notice the screaming in tge background? that was ion trying to steal the FAMOUS in the armory and got caught XD
Was stuck at work with nothing to do. Thanks Johnathan for passing 20 mins 😂
The "What we do in the shadows" t-shirt is amazing
1:33 Johnathan didn't notice that after firing both rounds only the buck shot cartridge primer had an indent. The slug round still looked unfired.
Zoomed in picture of the shells show both primers indented. It's just the lighting that reflects off the slug cartridge that makes it look unfired
I love to see this professional tech talk about gameweapons, especialy in tarkov. Thank u so much. Donation well spend :)
Tarkov is THE game for gun nerds. The attention to detail and all the different things you can do is really incredible.
7:50 Tarkov also has 40mm buckshot rounds for the gl40 and for the Milkor MGL, So the player in this scene might be using that.
Do Ground Branch! That game has a great customization system, and the gunplay simulates modern shooting techniques
“I like the angled foregrip to have clearance from the magazine.”
-slaps on a SE-5
8:20 professional garandthumb reference
at 7:50 I am pretty sure that was the "shotgun" round that is available in the game and not actually a grenade.
Whoever recorded this got SO close to presenting a true Lego PP-19 but they fell short :(
A solid episode yet again. Kudos.
I think you mean Grand Thumb on that Milkor i assume lol, good stuff
always enjoy watching Johnathon
I'd love to see Jonathan review the weapons from Stalker. There's a lot of Soviet and NATO weapons to tackle there.
8:16 garand thumb we are looking at you
One detail that Jonathan missed (I've been waiting years to say that) is that when the player used the Milkor at close range it looked like he was using the m apers (I think) 40mm buckshot round. Very cool in game to use
The guy who recorded the footage said he did not. All explosive rounds
7:52 that's the 40x46mm M576 (MP-APERS) grenade from how it looked hitting that scav. Pretty much a 40mm canister of buckshot, hilariously over effective on soft targets in the game.
Would be cool to see Johnathan react to the new recoil changes in EFT!
Another entertaining reactions vid!😁
I kinda wish that he would check out The Division 2/1 games, but after Escape from Tarkov it may be a bit underwhelming. Still, it's a 3rd person game with gun mods and neat skill tech!
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter would probably be a better choice. Way more customisation options.
@@Mr_T_Badger I like suggesting The Division games because it's a 3rd person with tons of customization. Pretty much all the games on here are generic 1st person games. Plus the semi-futuristic skill devices may be worth mentioning.
@@KickyFut hmm, fair enough.
I’d love to see Jonathan review Call of Duty Advanced Warfare weapons, it has many unique ones such as the RW-1
Not bueno
that depressing moment when you realize Mr Ferguson may be a silver fox, but he's younger than you are.
Grand Thumb did a video about grenade launchers and their close range damage using a ballistic torso.
Without any protective gear on the torso the grenade sailed through.
Once the event is over you should really do another Hunt:Showdown video.
The Alofs, Sparks Pistol, Obrez drum, Scottfeild, Uppercut and Lebel are all pretty interesting weapons I would love to see Jonathans take on.
id love someone to explain to him the stats of weapons and show him how some setups that hes seen used in real life preform and then see the best guns in the game and the builds that you use for them
someone has probably mentioned this but the point blank with a grenade laucher clip i beleive the GL wa sloaded with 40mm buckshot not a HE shell
So as far as the grenade launcher, garand thumb did a video where he took HE rounds without the fuse in them and shot a ballistic gel torso with them. It went straight through them when shot at close range i to soft spots like the stomach
I hope game developers start consulting him during the making of a game to see how their gun models look feel and sound
12:40
Fun fact, blind firing as a uniformed combatant is a war crime under the Geneva convention rules. Probably why Johnathan said it’s I’ll advised that a trained soldier do that lol.
The piggy back for the g36k is also in Tarkov
I think Jonathan would have a Great giggle over the "Saints Row" series of guns:
Specifically "Saints Row : The Third".
Hunt: Showdown and Insurgency: Sandstorm deserve another round
Can we get another Hunt: Showdown episode already?
maybe...
GarandThumb did video on granade luanchers from close range called "40MM Grenade Launcher vs Torso at Point Blank Range"
What was goin on in the background in 17:31 ????
guns being tested on unwilling subject
8:14 there are shotgun "shells" being used here i believe.
