Georgia Southern being in a conference with GAST, makes it really difficult to use GSU. As far as we are concerned we refer to ourselves as GS. We’ve started using an interlocking GS & I love our old academic logo
For anyone wondering why so many of the schools changed names/rebranded in the 90s and early 2000s, is because the NCAA kind of pushed all these schools with native American based mascots to change their mascot/image. Some used the opportunity to make really cool new mascots/logos, and others took generic mascots, sadly.
The ULM logo is a continuation of the old NLU logo (Northeast Louisiana University) from the 1970s and 1980s that had an Indian head in the "L". We're getting away from the Warhawk cartoon head that was used and going toward the P-40 fighter plane that was also known as the Warhawk, using the shark teeth and eyes.
Just found the channel. Great work, getting hyped for EA CFB ‘25. App State “Yosef”… it can be the accent pronunciation of “yourself”; but it’s also a common Germanic annunciation for “Joseph”. Very common for “hill-billies”.
You absolutely nailed it. I actually had the exact same top 2 as you did and really all of your ranking spots are only 1 or 2 spots away from where I wouldve put them in this conference. So not sure if they are on the docket at all, but Id love for you to continue college logos by talking about NCAA division 1 schools that dont have football programs. And heres another idea perhaps down the road...ranking primary football helmets, since they arent always the primary logo and you can also talk about the colors they choose to accentuate on them. I dunno, just a thought in case you want to stay in college football
Not gonna lie, I did not think Marshall would be that high, and that's as a Marshall fan lol. Great videos, I've been watching every one of them on release. Great job on these.
The worst part for Coastal Carolina's teal field is the NCAA has put a ban on "new" colored turf fields. The turf needs replacing badly. But because of the NCAA ban, they can't replace the whole field. So they are forced to patch the worn spots and up close the field looks terrible.
Funny story since you mentioned the iconic Marshall Kelly Green playing into their logo. When I was a sophomore at MU (2003-2004)we became a Nike school across all sports and the merch Nike rolled out in those initial years was Pantone 357, which caused a huge uproar on campus and among alums (some sports such as basketball even had that shade on their unis). After a couple of years, the Kelly Green reappeared across the board in merch and on all uniforms, but there for a while it was a hot topic. Just thought I'd share since you mentioned the colors. It is very much a thing lol.
I agree my alma mater Appalachian has a rather bland logo, but it has been the primary logo for so long (late 80) and thru all the school's high profile moments that I hope it never changes. Also, the Mountaineer script is Hall of Frame coach Jerry Moore's handwriting. I like ODU the most among my conference rivals, and Louisiana as well. The Beach Chickens' logo is just aweful.
Can attest the old SoMiss logo used to be a problem. I used to work at the UI bookshop warehouse in college and one time we received an apparel shipment of SoMiss stuff back when it was the old rounded logo. The distributor was too dumb to tell the difference between that and the Tigerhawk.
Dude call the them Southern Miss you talk about how Georgia Southern is too long to say but "Southern Mississippi" is we too long but they already have a nickname shorten too.
The early 90s movie Necessary Roughness featured the fictional Texas State Fighting Armadillos (because there was no "Texas State" at the time). I think that when Southwest Texas State changed their name to Texas State, they missed a golden marketing opportunity by not changing their mascot to the Fighting Armadillos and their colors to the green and white of the movie TSU.
You've gotta rank the best logos from every FBS and FCS conference in one video so we know who has the best logo in college football.
Can you please rank all of the logos in college football in one video?

Top 2 are the only thing I can agree with… as an ODU alum I feel slighted. My nephew attended Coastal so I’ll allow it.

Most people from Appalachia pronounce it the 2nd way you say it which is the correct way to say it with "ah" sound.
Surprised that South Alabama was so high and that Arkansas State wasn't higher. Ark State is one of my favorite logos in all of CFB!

Please do the logos of the A-10. There's been some new ones in the last few years. The bottom two are easy. :)
I cant wait to schedule a game at Coastal in the video game, shoot i may pick them to build up

The old dominion logo 🔥

You picked the chicken as the best logo.....? Really?
Chants up!

The marshal logo is literally just the Appalachian state logo with different letters
As a Marshall fan, I would understand this, but feels like it has pizzazz to it it feels right
Nah that Arkansas State logo is peak
You should do the basketball only programs too like Providence, Gonzaga, and Witchita St
I would have placed Marshall Thundering Herd at 2
I know this is a CFB channel but I need to hear your take on the Big East basketball logos
Dude call the them Southern Miss you talk about how Georgia Southern is too long to say but "Southern Mississippi" is we too long but they already have a nickname shorten too.
Any chance you can rank the Cal Ripken Collegiate League logos.
For App state…never said it correctly there is cha sound on the end.
You should do a best of the best list
Costal deserves the win but Troy deserved to be put higher!
Do the Ohio Valley conference
The 1982-2000 logo depicted for ULM, is not the one in use for the era. Please get your facts straight.
Appa latch un
App State logo is so much better than JMU!

Get that Marshall logo lower. I don’t care if the green is good. Letters on letter is not a good logo
Do the Ohio Valley conference
