As someone who attended JMU in the 2000s, playing App State felt like a championship by itself, and I recall the 2008 game so vividly when JMU won 35-32. Out of all teams in the Sun Belt, the most formal history for JMU is against App State. When it comes to basketball, no one would dare to miss an ODU game in the old convo. For both men and women, ODU has dominated the series against JMU. I think an emerging rivalry that is overlooked right now and something that is worth paying attention to is JMU and Marshall. By distance, Marshall's closest rival in the conference is JMU, and from a football perspective, they are very similar defensively, since the last two games were low scoring. They have, IMO, the most similarities in passionate fan bases.
Marshall has been without a huge rivalry since leaving the MAC, so I'm 100% behind The Old Mountain Feud. Its been a dogfight almost every game so far.

Coastal vs App State snubbed
Clearly the 4 best rivalries in the SBC are App-GaSo, App-Marshall, App-Coastal, and App-JMU

It’s going to continue to grow in the years to come! 👊🏼
