Old Australian saying - "The gun's always loaded and the horse always kicks".
When this story broke, it was stated that Alec Baldwin was not just the actor who accidentally shot the cinematographer, but also the executive producer who selected the armorer and ignored complaints from employees who complained about the inadequate gun safety. In fact, this may not have been the first accidental discharge. Baldwin was the guy at the top. Don't let the media downplay his responsibility because they like his politics.
Never liked this guy. The way he spoke to his child … I was done. Way back then.

Talking to a 12 year old like that is disgusting. Let alone his daughter. But what do you expect from a guy who's also shot and murdered someone.
This was actually Hannah’s second armor job. She was fired from the first one because she screwed up again and almost blew out Nicholas Cages ear drums due to a firearm going off without notice on set. She’s failed miserably on both films.

As a rule, you never, ever aim a firearm at anything or anyone if you do NOT intend to shoot. Lamont is correct about thinking that a gun is always loaded. However, the person receiving the firearm has a responsibility to check the gun and whether it is loaded. Why was live ammunition on this set? The armorer is irresponsible and negligent. Baldwin, as a producer, hired her. He is responsible.
I read something about some of the crew taking the prop revolvers on a down day and doing some target shooting. Whoever brought the live ammo on set didn't account for every round, assuming that what I read was factual. And at least one live round was left in the incident gun.
Which points to another problem (and makes the reason for Lt. Col. Cooper's first point perfectly clear). Somebody stored a loaded firearm. And somebody else assumed the firearm was not loaded, telling baldwin the gun was not loaded. There was at least four chances to break the chain of causality that led to this shooting: first, the person that brought live ammo on set didn't account for each round; second, the person who put the firearm away once they were done target shooting didn't make sure it was cleared; third, the assistant director never checked to see if the revolver was, in fact, cleared; and fourth, baldwin never checked and cleared the weapon. I've seen it called the "Swiss cheese theory of accidents"; I interpret that as meaning the accident won't occur until all the holes in the slices of Swiss cheese line up. And all it takes is for one slice of cheese to have cheese instead of a hole where the accident is building to prevent that accident.
Wow wtf? He sounds unhinged 😮

@@metalmike570 Were you also taught that blanks are just as dangerous as live rounds? Because they are if you're close enough. The black powder, the shrapnel from the percussion cap, and even metal fragments from the casing can be expelled at high velocity. But why in the hell would Alec Baldwin know any of that?
@@lockedonlaw Well when we did some Army training, again it's an m-16 so it's a rifle, but the drill sergeants called it your weapon. Basically (in Basic) you got kids running around with m-16's for some kind of exercise / mission. On the end of the barrel we put a muzzle on it, I think they were painted orange. i wasn't sure the purpose of it but now I realize if it was a bullet in there instead of a blank, it would have to get through that muzzle first and would lose most of it's velocity.
It makes sense after what you wrote there, schooled me more. And so on a pistol,
a revolver they wouldn't put a muzzle on it because they're making a movie and
there probably isn't one for a pistol.
I listened a little more to Lamont, he said that Alec Baldwin was also the executive producer of the movie. If the judge wants him to bear / shoulder some of the responsibility or fine the hell out of him he can. And I think that's why the charge went back on him.
Also the man has been making movies many years. Some are kind of action movies
so he's fired guns with blanks a few times in his career.
Another common thing I saw in the Army is the weapons clearing barrel. Before you went into a tent or a chow hall you can fire you weapon into it, it's full of sand. Just to make things safer in that chow hall. They need an ex-military person to be an armorer, because I could have set them straight with safety.

Why would a movie set need live ammunition in the first place?
It doesn't nor was any authorized to be present. The armourer didn't take her job seriously, was in over her head and failed to maintain industry protocols. She allowed the guns to be mishandled and didn't secure ammunition. She let live rounds on set & didn't keep track.
Gutierrez-Reed got the maximum of 18 months. The asst producer who handed him the gun, got 6 months probation. And Alec Baldwin should get every bit of 18 months, too! He's not only, taking no responsibility, but he has had lots of experience handling guns and knows to check a gun when it's handed to you. As producer he had responsibility for safety checks and making sure the armorer was experienced. Hhhhmmmm I wonder why 🤔🤨🙄 She’s only 24 yrs old, WTF?!
@@beccaprof63 I agree with you 100% not to mention that her response at the scene was childlike. It seems like a job like that would require years of apprenticeship
Accidently, accidently, accidently, trying to convince themselves. 😂😂😂
Oh man what a disgraceful dad. Ugh He's a terrible human being! One thing after another with this guy!!
LOCK HIS ASS UP!
This is one of your best video's you have published to date. Perfect timing for this trial is starting. Well done sir.
Would Mr. Baldwin have checked the gun if the scene was to take his own life?
Great question and I never thought of that. Of course the answer is no
He's not a gunsmith. He wouldn't have known the difference. Nor should he be expected to know the difference.
He didn't want this accident to happen and the poor woman to die.
The people that handle the prop guns, that’s their job not the actors.
It's incredibly simple to inspect and clear a firearm to make sure it's not loaded. Everyone should know how. I'm not saying everyone does but everyone should learn.
He’s a bad person people hate him
Opinions are like assholes ……
There are no good people.
speak for yourself
Watching from the uk 🇬🇧
And me
Big game soon, go the poms
@@mullaway5746 Thanks
And me 😊
Alec baldwin is the rudest and a jerk of the movie industry
He ought to have been charged and convicted for manslaughter. An orange jumpsuit for his wardrobe!
He left a message sounded like an angry wrestling fan 😂😂😂😂
OMG, he does!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
This is sooooo sad. I thought about it for months. That poor woman lost her life. I mean WTF! Why would he point a gun at her and pull the trigger???
Buggs said it best ...what a Morooooooon !
Hes saying all that to a 12 year old?wat is wrong with that guy?he's nuts
I am not going to say anything bad about Alec Baldwin because I am nobody to judge. But I will say rest in peace to Helena, my heart goes out to her Family.
The way he talked to his daughter I would never allow him to be in the same room as her ever again in life I hope Kim Bassenger got full custody
Hannah only got 18 months I watched the trial she had no remorse that’s why she got the whole 18 months even though she should have gotten a much longer sentence.
No way she should have been an armorer though.
It's a movie there's supposed to be blanks in it.
So the negligence really goes to the armorer. If trained in the military
like I was, you're told "what's the first thing you do if you're handed a weapon?"
Answer: You clear it.
It was an m-16 so I charged the hadle and fired it at the ground many times.
It gets to be a reflex action. I never saw one accident while I served.
Now actors are not trained that way.
With a pistol, I would have fired it at the ground same way.
Thus making sure it's clear. And also not only fire it at the ground, remove the
magazine first. No magazine in it and firing it once to clear it.
NOw the gun Lamont is talking about, really you remove the cylinder,
the 6 shooter cylinder with the bullets and make sure it's empty.
Blanks look like bullets too, but the front part is waffled and you would know its
a blank. A real bullet looks just like a bullet smooth and to a point.
Those would all be removed upon sight.
Well, I’m not gonna go see the movie
Him and DeNiro are nuts !!
The truth and evil both of them
Imagine once being married to something like this and making a life with it. Pitiful.
Alex is all done!
How come they never made a big deal for Brandon Lee’s death? He died on the set by a real bullet. Why no one ever bothered to look into it? Maybe his situation too was not an accident.
Lee's death was investigated and it was the armorer and production company who were held responsible. The actor who accidentally shot him (Michael Massee) was not deemed responsible. As with this case, that gun was not properly loaded nor properly inspected before being handed off to the actor.
It wasn't
Both are an illuminati blood sacrifice
It was investigated and it was a big deal at that time !
You must be younger than 30
Hi Lamont! Love your work❤️ Alec Baldwin has always given me the creeps. An abusive ass.

He thinks he's auditioning for a role every time he's screaming at someone 🤷♀️
Wow speechless sad beyond words 😢
He's unstable in all his ways lacking wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and common sense. No Truth in him. Evil is ugly
' What a monster....Evil thug '

Look who's in control, I wouldn't trust anyone there.
His arrogance and terrible attitude caught up with him in that movie set murder .
One big piece of crap!
Alec should feel remorse he is the one who shot. Her by being careless
He is vile!!! Imagine - ever talking to a child like that!!!
Watching from Africa.
A bully who likes picking on smaller people
He looks and sounds EXACTLY like unhinged Rebert DeNiro.
The end of this video... Well done, Lamont!
