You should definetly watch Cars 3, this movie was cool, the reason why people hated it was because the plot had nothing to do with the first movie and it was just.. different from what everyone expected. Cars 3 is more of the continuation to the first movie and is honestly a great closure for the franchise. It makes a better tribute to Doc Hudson and tells more of his story and the introduction to a new generation
I think that the second part is not exactly a continuation of the first part. It rather showed an excerpt from the life of McQueen. Like, he lives in Radiator Springs, goes on dates with Sally, hangs out with Met and the others, and then he goes to different cities and countries for races, then comes back, etc. And like, this is his life, and probably the creators just wanted to show it to us in the second part
The movie was SUPPOSED to be "Lightning's world rally", where he worries that he'll be tempted by fame again and forget his friends...But that didn't stretch to feature length, so Pixar inserted a Mater's Tall Tales spy cartoon that was starting to stretch to a half-hour TV special, which explains why the characters seem to be in two different movies. And why they're so much freakin' Mater in the story. Also, a bit about talking planes at the airport had to be cut, and was recycled into the two Pixar-esque "Planes" movies.
@@SheamusMii The direct video "Planes" is ehh-good, but the theatrical "Planes: Fire & Rescue" is actually pretty darn GOOD: ruclips.net/video/CC4sfAa2jNY/видео.html Unfortunately, audience road-rage over Cars 2 blackened the name of Pixar sequels, especially talking-vehicle sequels, for the next ten years, and nobody saw it. This film honestly felt like an extended episode of Maters Tall Tales, which were a series of shorts based on Mater that were shown on Disney channel back in the day.
Wait, people other than me like this movie? I thought everyone absolutely hated this film. Even I can admit that there's a little too much Mater and not enough Lightning and other Radiator Springs characters, but I loved how creative the spy tech was and Finn McMissile was awesome to watch in action. And the message and friendship between Mater and Lightning was super sweet; their relationship is very wholesome and I like seeing how they interact. It's one of Pixar's worse films, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to enjoy about it.

This movie is such a guilty pleasure for me cause I understand the big flaws in this movie but I watch this car's movie the most as a kid. Good thing Cars 3 goes back and focuses on racing
Bro I’m not gonna lie cars two is my personal favorite movie of all time it’s probably my second favorite but Incredibles 2 is my favorite movie of all time
Between the first and second films of Cars, Cars 2 is my all time favorite, especially because it gave major development for Mater because from what i remember even though he became McQueen's best friend he was still mostly just a secondary character...i mean i know i said once that Mater was the most likable character in the Cars franchise, but i'm pretty sure it was Cars 2 that made people appreciate him more...at least if i remember correctly. And i also loved how Cars 2 focused on the spy and James Bond vibes it had.
Cars 2 did the same thing for me too. I liked Mater and thought he was funny, but I also thought he was an idiot who couldn't take anything seriously. But when I watched Cars 2, I ended up respecting him a whole lot more, especially near the end since I never thought Mater would be so brave and selfless yet still in character. I respected him a whole lot more after that.
What Lightning said about Franchesco's frame is true, F-1s like him, weren't built for the road more for the track. But his suave personality made him cute.😄😆😆😆
I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! This would probably be my favourite cars movie but cars one is a REALLY close second so it was a hard decision. But this is my favourite because it add just a bit more seriousness to Mater but he still stays the same after all of it so it's not too much of a plot change and he just gains that little bit more respect. And the constant traveling around the world is just amazing! And it did shock a lot of people to see so many cars die, so your reaction is just great!
i actually loved Cars 2 cuz of the spy mission. mater was my favourite character, especially the part where he says "make me a monster truck... I want to siphon your gas..." i cracked up SO much!
@@nickflix8657 fun fact nick, them movie got slot of facts wrong about racing#1 is that when Francesco say his tops speed is over200km/h he's wrong. I didn’t mind them not focusing on McQueen to much in this. He already went through a character arc in the first movie. Sometimes it’s good to focus on another character. It is called “CARS” not “McQueen”
I guess I was kind of shocked that was what Cars 2 was as well, but I think that's partly why I liked it, it was so out there and unexpected that it was something I'd thought we'd never see happen to these characters, and to me, that made it kind of cool that it did.

Oh, NICK! I keep thinking of the perfect animated movie to suggest to you, but then I forget about it when I see your videos. FINALLY, I have it remembered: "Titan A.E." I'd love to see your reaction to that one!!
I really disliked the first movie when I originally saw it so I avoided the sequels for years (especially with negative reviews). When I finally sat down to watch them with my kids, I found Cars 2 to be easily the most enjoyable of the bunch, and I still don't understand why anyone would think THIS is Pixar's worst when there are so many I felt worked far less. This one is close to the middle of my Pixar list, which is high praise for this series.

The reason why Doc Hudson doesn't appear in the movie is because the voice actor, Paul Newman, died in 2008. Also, the character Fillmore has a different voice actor because like Doc Hudson, Fillmore's original voice actor, George Carlin, also died in 2008.
I never liked the third one. I felt it was like toy story 4 where they missed the lessons from the ones before The first one we learned that a race car should get to choose when he’s done and have a last race McQueen never got to choose and was just pushed to the side and never even got a last race. Which is even more upsetting seeing that there were deleted scenes where that’s what the original plan was. It ends with him starting his last race
The car couple that kissed on the bridge, is something that a lot of couples do, even director John Lasseter and his wife Nancy, hence why he included it in the movie.

After the first movie there was a series of shorts called 'Mater's Tall Tales', where Mater tells McQueen a story of how he once time travelled or met an alien spaceship or became a professional racer, then McQueen says something like 'you expect me to believe that happened' or 'what happened next' and Mater replies 'Well you should know' or 'shoot don't you remember nothin'?' or 'well you should believe it' because 'you was there too' - and then we find out McQueen was in every story, and then we get some sort of proof that Mater's tall tale did happen. Firstly I just want to say that I appreciate your honesty and I'm sorry that you didn't feel about the movie the way I did. But I'm also happy that you did recognise the good elements and gave it a decent rating. Personally, I think this movie gets way too much hate and a lot of it is unwarranted. I understand people being mixed on the Mater-centring. Personally, I liked Mater's character in this movie and respected him a lot more after this, but I also agree the film did focus on him a bit too much when we could have had some spy lore. I also like how they weren't afraid to show the dark side of that world, with the discrimination against certain vehicle types and the fact that actual evil cars who torture and kill exist. I think it's cool that they decided to try something different and expand the Cars world and the sad thing is, we probably won't get anything like this ever again. I think a miniseries based on this movie would be pretty awesome!
I wanna say I love very much your reactions and even if I disagree (not liking mater etc) I never feel upset. I genuinely feel calm watching your videos. Also..... If you wanna see the world building from the planes perspective I would suggest watching the planes movie.
I loved how they had F1 Champions voicing some of the cars. In english they had Lewis Hamilton, in spanish they had Fernando Alonso and in german they had Sebastian Vettel, which was great
If you like racing movies, I highly recommend the Herbie series: The Love Bug 1968 Herbie Rides Again 1974 Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo 1977 Herbie Goes Bananas 1980 The Love Bug 1997 Herbie Fully Loaded 2005
The 1st one & 3rd one are better imo the 3rd one really connects with the first film I definitely can’t wait to see your reaction and opinion on the 3rd one
To better understand the spy car and his gadgets, you'd have to see the earlier James bond movies. Like The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), which has the sub car. The earlier James bond movies had a lot of gadgets. Goldfinger is another one that had gadgets on the car
I rented the video game for this. It was a race game like Mario Kart where you drive a track and pick up spy gadgets to equip to your car and kill the opponent cars
Cars 2 is one of my favorite Pixar movies, but I respect your opinion, of course. You should definitely watch Cars 3. Also, there's a lesser-known Pixar movie called "Planes", based on the planes we've seen in the Cars movies. it may not be as good as Cars is, but it's not a horrible movie. Imo, it's still worth watching and I recommend giving it a try.
Yeah Idk if the hate was warranted. I would have preferred to see more of the first race, but all in all (pun not intended) it was fun. Maybe in more a sense of related clips as opposed to being a totally cohesive single story. Bits stood out to me, like bromances, the fake train scare in the tunnel, the creepy professor, Francesco meeting Sally, the McQueen team fighting together... I naturally have distracted thinking that goes many places, so that might make it easier for me.
Excluding critic reviews, for the most hated Pixar Movie, Cars 2 is very popular. If u google the movie, 84% of people loved the movie, so that's only 16% of hate. That's not a lot. Not to mention, I google all the Star reviews for Cars 2, and approximately, 70-80% of people gave it five stars, i gave the movie a GPA average based on the stars and it averages out to 4.1 stars. It get more love than people think it gets

To be honest I do like cars 2 it was very action packed and very developing. I did like the spy plot I just think that would’ve done better as its own movie and that the film should’ve been more focused on the Grand Prix and maybe having more just being a test of friendship between McQueen and Mater. Like maybe him actually ditching because he finally got a date could’ve been a good story about not being there not being dependent on. Then McQueen tries to get Mater back before the final race in London. 🏎⚡️
I don't care what people say that cars 2 is bad I don't care about anything the problems of cars 2 has Cause it feels like it doesn't seen important to me

i feel like this was definitely the best movies in the cats franchise if you mainly just want the racing then you’d love the third movie :)
Of course they have mouths and eyes, especially since it’s a Pixar cartoon. I love Pixar cartoons.
The Cars 2 episode of the Kill James Bond podcast is absolutely hilarious. (But may not be appropriate for all ages).
If you like racing movies, I highly recommend the Herbie series:
The Love Bug
1968
Herbie Rides Again
1974
Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo
1977
Herbie Goes Bananas
1980
The Love Bug
1997
Herbie Fully Loaded
2005
The 1st one & 3rd one are better imo the 3rd one really connects with the first film I definitely can’t wait to see your reaction and opinion on the 3rd one
Hey nick! Can you react to planes and planes 2? It’s basically like cars but…
Planes.
To better understand the spy car and his gadgets, you'd have to see the earlier James bond movies. Like The Spy Who Loved Me
(1977), which has the sub car. The earlier James bond movies had a lot of gadgets. Goldfinger is another one that had gadgets on the car
I absolutely love this movie and will always love it. Cars 2 is amazing!
I remember his movie when i as a kid
The voice of the FV NorthWestern is the guy that owns the real one.
Still amazes me that Cars 2 has a death count.
I can sum up the 3rd one in 3 words with no spoilers:
You. Will. Cry.
Yeah matter is very much the main character in this one
i can’t wait nick will watch cars 3 but is for a week:)
I'm gonna go back and like the updated Cars 1 review, since RUclips wants to play games 😉
Eddie Izzard
is
Miles Axlrod
if you like racing, I think you'll really enjoy Speed Racer! It's a fun and cheesy movie with excellent racing scenes
I like this one better than the 3rd but less than the first.
The right answer 🙌🏻
cars 2 is my Favourite movie
I rented the video game for this. It was a race game like Mario Kart where you drive a track and pick up spy gadgets to equip to your car and kill the opponent cars
This is (not joking) mine and all of my friends favourite Pixar movie
29:06 47:16 The sarge v Fillmore banter is just so cute. It's so hard to not ship...
Any plans on reacting to the 'Planes' spinoff movie?
Doc wasn't in this movie because his voice actor (Paul Newman) passed away before it was made.
straight from James bond to Finn mcmissle
great reaction
45:51 you said last minute. It was actually the last second
Popular it can be. But critically it is a terribly written movie.

I don't care what people say that cars 2 is bad
I don't care about anything the problems of cars 2 has
Cause it feels like it doesn't seen important to me
Shut up.

Actually, you DO see the Gastow's sign when you get to Paris in the movie itself, you just missed it, Nick (don't know how you can miss it, I noticed it the first time and it's not that well-hidden, but then again, you do miss details that are obvious to most people).
Not everybody catches everything on a FIRST viewing. It's not that serious. 🙄
Decent movie, just didn’t feel like a Cars movie like 1 and 3 did. There’s not a lot of focus on racing. The movie is different but that’s not entirely bad. The spy plot was interesting.
You are the best
That jaw dropping
They needed to sell more Mater toys
