About Alchemy, in case it helps anyone, I did a test of bringing an alchemy preset from the desktop version of logic to the ipad, and it worked. The ipad version of alchemy doesn't come with all the desktop logic presets (3600), so you can open a desktop logic project with presets you don't have on ipad and then open project in ipad logic, then save them in "my presets", I did that and it worked for me.
I guess it’s a good mention to people who are new to iPad Audio to keep the battery above 50% - this mentioned in the Moog manuals. Some older iPads might be advised to freeze tracks
Thanks. Synths and so on work pretty well. But, disappointed that it wont let you drag and drop tracks recorded inside Logic Pro, over to an AUV3 sampler (Like Segments/Koala/Drambo/etc). Thats pretty much what I was hoping for with this.
Excellent demonstration Patrick, I like the app more and more. My hope for the future is that native instruments put their synthes on ios, since I have the komplete package and on desktop logic pro I use it a lot.

Great content my friend... I want to get into iPad instruments but i feel that is not so responsive (tryed many many synths and samplers). It seems like even with fastest configuration on the software it always feel milliseconds late... do you feel this way too?? Do you think if I buy an audio interface my Ipad sound will get more responsive to my touch? Trying to finger drumming but the latency seems a little bit bigger than with MIDI-Desktop.
can u trigger live loop cells with a external midi controller? they show Novation’s launchkey mini in their website, I would if at least that one would work for the moment

Any information about Korg and AUv3 ? i mean Logic could be a reason to update their apps finally. last time, years ago, Korg also was the very last to adopt IAA, when everybody else already had made their apps compatible...... i don't remember the occasion, but i think it was when Garageband got IAA capabilities.
So I’ve been trying to mess around with it and when I start a new project and select MIDI it will not record the very first note I play, I’ve tried multiple instruments but when I record something and play it back it does not record the first note played. Am I missing something?
You’re likely starting to play just before the recording starts, meaning the midi note will begin begins the track starts and won’t trigger. If you open the editor, you will be able to move the starting point of the first region to the beginning of the first bar.
Hey Patrick. I know you can set up a new track with a new instrument, then move the midi data, but is there a way to replace it more directly? e.g. Swap SynthMaster 2 for ButterSynth without using a new track.

You can’t connect any third party plugins that are not AUv3 compatible unfortunately. Apple have given developers many years notice to update their apps.

In other hand, GB Drummer uses kit with two crashes. Is there any way to use in-built drummer for midi or could you please suggest external instrument for my purposes? I tried X Drummer and Drum Session, but can't figure out how to use midi file with them. Unable to import midi into X Drummer or DrumSession track in GB, as well as unable to import midi directly in those apps and send sampled (from midi) drums into GB or something. I'm totally stuck and can't understand what I'm doing wrong. Or this is just software limitations.
Bias FX doesn’t support AUv3, it’s inter app audio only. Apple got rid of inter app audio compatibility in Logic Pro (and have been clear about deprecating IAA for a while). Positive Grid need to update their apps to be AUv3 compatible.
Hmmm… followed the instructions for loading Animoog Z, setting the Polyphonic and Y mapping, and Animoog Midi in and out channels are set to MPE but Animoog Z is not responding to movement on the Logic play surface, the Animoog Surface or a connected MPE controller. I have been successful in getting it to work stand alone without a problem. Any ideas?

the logic pro keyboard simulates velocity somehow… through capacitance somehow maybe. So it’d be often the best option to use

Yes - if you tap and hold on the plug in tile you can select ‘replace’ from the menu that pops up.

How do I ad in audio plugins like biasfx? it’s easy on garage band - is there an option for this?

OK, I was a bit wrong. Sliding up the keys does seem to have some effect. But, it’s not pitch bend as expected. Instead, it seems to effect velocity.
I have iProphet for iPad and don’t see it in the AU listing in Logic Pro for iPad.
