Thanks for this very well done intro video! Our band has been looking for a low cost way to record demo tracks, and we've settled on logic pro for iPad, due to most of the members already owning an iPad. We're all new to this and these videos are an amazing introduction to get us up and going.

Got to say pondering and weighing up whether I actually make enough music to justify a subscription though., of which I initially didn't know it was. (It's just a hobby for me). I would have preferred a one off full whack price. Still tempted as I want a DAW that has more to offer than GB, and as they are closely related it seems like the natural and 'logical' progression. I will definitely let you know if I go for it. Still going through your tutorials and will make a decision after.

Great video, Pete 👏 I’ve hooked up my iPad Pro to my whole studio setup this night (just took out the usb from the Mac and put it into the iPad Pro) and it’s working like a charm. Sure, it’s a bit different from Logic Pro on Mac, but overall, what Apple achieved here is quite amazing!

If Arturia brings their software over I would be all in. Until that happens I'm in limbo right now because right before they announced logic for iPad I was in the market for a new MacBook specifically for music and video editing. I have been indecisive since because of the iPad.
For full flexibility in the next 2 years, a Mac will still be a he most flexible option. iPad will get there and is great for many folks, but when you start talking VSTs and advanced sample libraries, desktop still reigns supreme.
I Pete. I m startig to’ use Logic x iPad and I find your course very very useful. Just one question, is possible to move the sound library in an external disck and how? My iPad is short of memory and cannot do too much. Thank for your attention Rodolfo.
What I would find really useful, is a tutorial of mastering a uploaded garageband project, I make EDM psychedelic trance, would like to know how to get the most out of enhancing these tracks

Great video Pete, visually apart from the master mixer it looks very similar to GB. I’m hoping the sounds, Sam-les and loops offer more diversity and a variation than GB
You will LOVE the additional sounds. And yes, the interface is different but has enough familiar aspects that I think GarageBand users will adapt really well.
Depending on your needs and how deep you want to dive, the instruments and effects in Logic offer far more flexibility than those of GarageBand. As GarageBand and its included instruments and effects are actually a sub-set of Logic features, they are compatible to a point, alowing GarageBand projects to be imported. Once in Logic, you will have access to more sophisticated versions of the instruments and effects, with many more sound manipulation controls and options.
I'm a blind iPad user, and I find that Logic Pro works to some degree with VoiceOver. Near the beginning of this tutorial, you tap on something that lets you change the drummer once the track has already been created. Can you please describe what this is you click on so I can find it with VO? Because I'm having trouble changing a patch for a track once created. Would you, just maybe, be willing to start VoiceOver on your iPad and tell me if you can figure out how this is done? Not only would I include you in my next meditation but I'd also buy your merch and proudly run around wearing it in case this helps.

GarageBand is actually a version of Logic with a lot of features removed, hence the similarities between them.

Yup. It’s definitely different which I think is okay. It needed to be for the touch interface.

Unfortunately not. Sound packs need to be stored on the device.

Great video Pete, visually apart from the master mixer it looks very similar to GB. I’m hoping the sounds, Sam-les and loops offer more diversity and a variation than GB
You will LOVE the additional sounds. And yes, the interface is different but has enough familiar aspects that I think GarageBand users will adapt really well.
Depending on your needs and how deep you want to dive, the instruments and effects in Logic offer far more flexibility than those of GarageBand. As GarageBand and its included instruments and effects are actually a sub-set of Logic features, they are compatible to a point, alowing GarageBand projects to be imported. Once in Logic, you will have access to more sophisticated versions of the instruments and effects, with many more sound manipulation controls and options.

I'm a blind iPad user, and I find that Logic Pro works to some degree with VoiceOver. Near the beginning of this tutorial, you tap on something that lets you change the drummer once the track has already been created. Can you please describe what this is you click on so I can find it with VO? Because I'm having trouble changing a patch for a track once created. Would you, just maybe, be willing to start VoiceOver on your iPad and tell me if you can figure out how this is done? Not only would I include you in my next meditation but I'd also buy your merch and proudly run around wearing it in case this helps.
