Thanks for the comment, glad you are enjoying the videos. In my area I get a lot of work from body shops who need things fixed. Most techs these days are just parts changers around here. Follow along and watch the hood come back into shape and the entire body come together.
Just subscribed. A buddy sent me a link to your channel and said, "I don't think you'll watch them all at once..." I didn't, but I spent Wednesday evening, and all my spare time yesterday, and watched every video in order, then this one today. LOVE IT! It's always nice to see a master craftsman ply his trade. Great shop full of machines you have too! Keep up the great work, Brian!
thanks for the comment and glad you are enjoying the videos. I do appreciate when folks watch my videos and comment. Stay tuned there is much more to come.
I find the problem with large flat panels is the slightest dent in them gives you a "ping pong" effect, by shrinking it properly like you have that gives it the tension to stay flat, but when it was in the form of a military vehicle, (as the MB), it did not matter much, people do tend to jump about on the "hood" of a Jeep as they see others doing this on the TV, it is one hell of a job stopping little kids doing this at a show, the mothers saying, "it is only a Jeep".
I know exactly what you mean. The term "its only a jeep" is worldwide and people don't often look at them as a valuable piece of history. Follow along as the hood comes back into shape. much more coming so stay tuned.
Thank you for making these videos! As an auto body guy I need to show these to my techs when they say something 'can't be' fixed!

Are all those little spots pitting?
The little spots are remnants of primer, paint, dirt, etc... before painting it will be sanded smooth and clean.
