I honestly enjoy playing as little mac in smash Bros, even if he has the worst recovery in the entire game. The is just something very satisfying about landing a million punches to the opponent
Miyamoto prolly doesn’t think they can do anything new with it. He’s generally the first naysayer to any sequel that is just a sequel with no “gimmick” to go with it.
sorry to say, but he is whie peanut is godly and I enjoy watching him it doesn't mean the character is good compared to the others, for example tweek is better than esam, yet Pikachu is better than diddy kong, he has an insane ground game and a DLC level comeback mechanic but the fact that is aerials are horrible and his recovery is abysmal at best really just ruins his gameplay
My anxiety has been through the roof today, and this video is the perfect thing to distract me. Thank you for making videos that always get me through the ruff days.
I will say this on stages that are just on the ground like terry’s, he’s a beast. Put little Mac in a game with little aerial combat he’d probably be be good. Imagine little Mac in street fighter with most of the qualities from smash, like super armor and ko punch. He would probably be decent.
I instantly loved Mac in Smash. At the time I didn't even know much about him besides the Wii Punch out game. Combining this with the fact I just love boxing in general and practice it as a good workout, he became my main the moment he became an option to play. From the get go, I of course disliked his recovery, but my love for boxing and the Punch Out game made me realize that was the point. He's a boxer, a fighter who has great speed, power, and dodging capability, powerful combo potential, a powerful comback mechanic, and takes advantage of his opponent's mistakes and punishes. Of course he doesn't have good aerial ability, cause if he did he would've gotten the same hate Bayonetta did, more than he already got. Within my friend group, everyone agrees Little Mac is not the best by a long shot, but when I play him, people are actually more careful cause I use every ability he has to my advantage. After I learned more of his history, it just made me love playing him even more, and now in the military, my colleagues got a new perspective after watching me dominate with Little Mac against opponents who played characters like Ness, K. Rool, Ganondorf, Mega Man, and even Zelda, and when the DLC characters came out: Pyra/Mythra, Sora, Min Min, and Sephiroth. Despite them being leagues above Little Mac in many ways, being able to strike fear and have people back off with who would normally have no issue with Little Mac is satisfying. In short, Little Mac is badass and people who hated him in Smash just completely missed his whole purpose and play style. It just came naturally to me, and he's still my favorite character, besides K. Rool now too
On the bright side he was an assist trophy and then upgraded to fighter in smash bros. Because he’s became a fighter he’s pretty my in immortalized now
RUclips. You're scaring me. I start talking about how much I love this boy and now nearly every single RUclipsr I watch is talking about him. At least you're not unnecessarily bashing his Smash abilities. _Which said people don't often know how to fully utilize him._
I didn't know I would ever cry so much over a bike Bell being rung. That is pretty freaking hard edit: I always looked up to Little Mac as a kid because I was in the boxing and fighting. And I guess I didn't really realize until right now how much of an impact Punch-Out had on me as a fighter and competitor.
Little Mac's smash playstyle perfectly represents that of his actual games, if you just try spamming attacks then you're gonna get racked real fast, you have to use speed and percision to dodge attacks while still staying in a close enough spot to punish, and use openings in the enemies playstyle to do good damage
The Famicom is actually older than Punch-Out!!. The Famicom came out in July 1983 whereas the arcade version of Punch-Out!! was released in December of that year.
I main Little Mac and will say I love him. I love his playstyle I believe he needs a new game. I am the only one who plays him in my friend group. I do get wins with him and I am happy about that at least.
15:00 Ok, I am a huge Little Mac fan in any Smash Bros. game. I feel he is very fun to play as and a challenging opponent to face even when controlled by the A.I., he is totally viable in Ultimate! But even I have to admit this was the most funniest and most accurate meme for his recovery issues.
Poor guy, he always gets the short end of the stick by a lot of people. Yet he is the prime example of an underdog that will keep fighter no matter what.

been a mac main since DAY 1, always loved the fact that his underdog thematic works through gameplay, he is by far the best comeback character (when on last stock) because everyone gets cocky and underestimates what you can really do, I've gotten to elite smash un ultimate with mac only, and in sm4sh (granted i was on 3ds) I could consistently win with the character, gotta play him like his game/a real boxer.
I love little Mac and I main him in smash because I know he’s a tough character to master and the thrill of winning against a opponent even though you are at a huge disadvantage make me smile
Man, this just upsets me lol. I remember back when I was younger I used to rent Punch Out for the Wii from Blockbuster back when that was a thing, so when I heard that he was getting into Smash 4, that had to be the most excited I got for a character inclusion since like, Sonic got in Brawl. I definitely like to play him in game so it's not disappointing on that front, but to see a character and franchise I love so much have so many people turn a blind eye to solely because he's bad in competitive Smash, it's just... unfortunate.
Honestly, I adore Little Mac. I tried with the competitive scene for a little bit with 4 and ultimate, but I remember playing as him once and feeling such a rush of playing a character with many flaws and coming out on top after so much hardship. Its quite a shame that so many people don't realize that Little Mac, like many of the fighters in Punch Out!!, is a gimmicky character. Try and approach him in his own game, like the casual community did, and you'll find that he's a powerhouse, which led to people saying that he's too good. Figure out and exploit his weaknesses, like the competitive community did, and you'll find that he's somewhat of a pushover, which led to people saying that he's too bad. Still, the idea of the underdog story is a time-told classic, and I adore every second I spend playing Mac. I think I'll be a Little Mac player until the day I die.
fun fact: most the fandom considers the characters from the Arcade game, original NES Punch-Out (and the 2009 reboot), and Super Punch-Out's protagonists as different characters. the arcade character is Peter Punch, the NES and Wii character is Little Mac, and the Super Punch-Out character is called Birdie Mac.
Little Mac is my favorite Nintendo character. I don’t even know why. The soundtrack to punch out feels like a big reason. Like a champ taking on titans.
I wanna see a fight between Peter Punch and Little Mac now. Something with a lot of cliques like, a part where Mac’s struggling and Peter starts this monologue about how he’ll never be as good as him, and so on and so forth before Mac makes some kinda comeback.
Little Mac may not get much love in Smash or even his own series at times but at least he's been given plenty here with this spectacular video showcasing his history. When Next Level Games was purchased, my immediate thought was hopes for a new Punch-Out game... though it'll be weird to play the game without the Balance Board; it's how I always played Punch-Out Wii.

It's sad that Mac was hated by the Smash fans! I like this character; despite his small size the teenager is brave and perseverant! I admire his courage :D Also, it's impressive to see a tiny guy like him beating thousands of muscled mans who are faster and stronger than him! Mac was not the only character who's hard to control| use in Smash. I got the one on my Wii and ALWAYS had a hard time with: Snake cause i can't aim with his missiles, Bowser cause he's slow and it's hard to jump with him, Olimar cause i don't understand how to properly uses the Pikmins, Ness and Luca cause i can't bounced back on the stage if i'm ejected. Every time i try to practice with thoses characters, it's difficult! It doesn't make me hate them :) I had fun with my sister even if using them is hard!
As someone who mainly uses Lucas, i agree with the mentality of characters who are meant to be played in an unique way to win, you don't need a character that feels the exact same as Mario or something, the fact that you loose with some of these characters merely means you ain't playing their playstyle, it doesn't mean the character itself is bad, it just means that they're supposed to be played in a different way
Little Mac will always be my number one Smash main and is one of my favorite characters. I love boxing as a sport and Little Mac being a boxer and going toe-to-toe with people who are gods, demons, demon slayers, and even god slayers, will always be my favorite thing while playing him.
As a Little Mac main in Smash and someone who's hugely fond of the Punch-Out!! franchise, it genuinely delights me to see people in the comments sharing their enjoyment of Little Mac in Smash. He may be bottom tier, but he's at the top in my heart
"I can't win Doc..." 'Join the Nintendo fun club today Mac!' The irony of Little Mac is his arc is no different than any real boxer. They often have tragic lives. Sometimes pre, during, and post career.
Fun Fact! 3:04 Pizza Pasta was referenced in Origami King by Luigi. He mentions that he wants to cook a Pizza Pasta after you meet him in Bowser's Castle.
Fun fact as a person who plays little mac use him like your pichu don't get hit cause your hp needs to stay high so he doesn't get launched . His air is literaly 1 move easy to dodge. You can do massive damage and if you can leverage a stock can work but you need need the floor a unstraight battleground. Just jump off now he needs to dash attack and poke at your enemy
13:16 I loved to play little mac from the very beginning and he is also my main to this day. Plus he is underrated. He can really pack a punch if you know how to use him properly.
I always loved Little Mac not only for his games, but also because I can recognize myself within him... We're both shorties and we went through a lot of the same things.
I like Little Mac as a whole, it’s so sad to know what he has to go through, it’s so much more painful than what many other Nintendo characters go through, it’s just pierces your heart so slowly it could make you cry
If they released a new Punch Out game, I'd be ecstatic for it! Little Mac was always a major idol for me, along side the other boxing underdog Ippo Makunouchi. Both have given me hope and drive to better myself even if those around me tell me I can't. I aspire to do amazing things just like Mac and rise to the challenges before me. Here's to you Little Mac. May your fists be filled with the heated passion that drives you to keep getting up again and again.
How could the Japanese not like Little Mac? Sure they may not appreciate a good underdog story, but the can at least appreciate him for his familiar stature.
I have to 100% disagree with the guy who says "Mac is boring and he encourages you to play boring" I can't play Mac because I'm bad. But watching People who know how to play him is always exciting to me. I don't like 7 minute games where 6 minutes is spent trying to safely land hits in neutral. Mac encourages you to "Get in there." To me that is way better to watch than a Ness, Link, or Villager who camps projectiles the whole time.
Honestly, I feel like since the Wii game is already the definitive version of the game, they should consider remastering it for Switch or the Switch successor similar to what they've done with older Zelda games. Maybe bring back the Special Circuit and stick the remaining arcade boxers in there, plus the Bruiser Bros. so that they can update Nick's record to include Glass Joe's freak accident win against him.
Little Mac is one of those characters I unabashedly loved as a kid. Dunno if it was because we're from the same state or we're both shorties, but anytime I see Nintendo bring him up I get excited.

I have a such soft spot for Little Mac and his series mostly because I'm short, but also because he doesn't stop training and pursues his goal to become a champion, despite his age and height, that's a determined sportsman! I find it inspiring even if boxing is not really in my interest.
Little Mac being bad in smash plays into his character. To get good playing Little Mac, you're going to have to overcome near impossible odds. But if you keep trying and learn from your failures, you can get there. Just like playing Punch Out, you study your opponent, find their weaknesses and patterns, then sock them for the KO.
i wonder if people can do that irl lmao.
@@notanoob5849They do.
I really hope he can *recover* from his dark past

Eh it's not really about getting good, it's about getting patient and playing super lame against him. The most viable counterplay against mac is banning FD and camping the platform.
@@NCozy Maybe that's the case with a bad Little Mac, but a good Little Mac knows how to use platforms. And actually his gameplan doesnt depend on FD
@@donker2842 that were most mac will go because it's harder to camp

@@smashbrosguyt915 Kirby only gets like on move from a fighter. That’s not enough to defeat even the fighter itself. (Unless the fighter is bad because Kirby is good. But not so good where 1 move and say bye bye.)
As a Little Mac main, I have to say that he's definitely a bit harder to use. But, if you practice and can use him right, he canplay REALLY well. (My Little Mac is in elite smash btw)
peanut makes Little Mac look like hes the best character in the game
I honestly enjoy playing as little mac in smash Bros, even if he has the worst recovery in the entire game. The is just something very satisfying about landing a million punches to the opponent
{KO!}
Wish they'd make another Punch Out gane already
It'd work pretty well with the Joy-Cons
I recommend Creepy Brawlers if you haven't played it. It's like the NES Punch Out game.
Might happen, since Nintendo bought Next Level Games
Miyamoto prolly doesn’t think they can do anything new with it. He’s generally the first naysayer to any sequel that is just a sequel with no “gimmick” to go with it.
@@Fanatic_Foremem Isn't that also why we won't get another F-Zero game?

The most depressing thing about little mac is that people still think he's bottom tier
I would love to see a Little Mac player win EVO, just to have a Rocky-esque ending, I would cheer so hard.
sorry to say, but he is whie peanut is godly and I enjoy watching him it doesn't mean the character is good compared to the others, for example tweek is better than esam, yet Pikachu is better than diddy kong, he has an insane ground game and a DLC level comeback mechanic but the fact that is aerials are horrible and his recovery is abysmal at best really just ruins his gameplay
Because he is bottom tier

Little Mac is still an underdog,
There still few that loves him
But he’s OUR underdog
My anxiety has been through the roof today, and this video is the perfect thing to distract me. Thank you for making videos that always get me through the ruff days.
Has a dog been chewing on your shoe again?
Because he’s became a fighter he’s pretty my in immortalized now
7:05 Mac looks like the protagonist of a shonen boxing manga and I’m all for it
Ippo is pretty much little mac
RUclips. You're scaring me. I start talking about how much I love this boy and now nearly every single RUclipsr I watch is talking about him. At least you're not unnecessarily bashing his Smash abilities. _Which said people don't often know how to fully utilize him._
I've got a friend who mains him, and he's got my eternal respect.
There is a very good Mac main rising in the smash scene. His name is Peanut
I didn't know I would ever cry so much over a bike Bell being rung. That is pretty freaking hard
edit: I always looked up to Little Mac as a kid because I was in the boxing and fighting.
4:14 Huh Little Mac and I have something in common. We're taken.

At least there's plenty of cute fanart of him and Samus as a couple. I guess she respects strength no matter the size. Reminds me of 18 and Krillan

Ok, I am a huge Little Mac fan in any Smash Bros.
Little Mac main since day 1. I will never stop playing him in Smash.

the fact that everybody hates fighting him makes it that much better when you win
Don't worry he'll get another good remake this decade... and maybe an aerial move.

Hopefully it's a spike

I haven’t seen one of your videos in years. Good to see your still doing what you always have.
been a mac main since DAY 1, always loved the fact that his underdog thematic works through gameplay, he is by far the best comeback character (when on last stock) because everyone gets cocky and underestimates what you can really do, I've gotten to elite smash un ultimate with mac only, and in sm4sh (granted i was on 3ds) I could consistently win with the character, gotta play him like his game/a real boxer.
I love little Mac and I main him in smash because I know he’s a tough character to master and the thrill of winning against a opponent even though you are at a huge disadvantage make me smile
Im glad Alpharad gave little mac one good thing in smash.
He is the spirits mode killer.
And he's so much fun to play casually

I can't believe my boy Scykoh disrespected Little Mac like that. Heart shattering.
I wanna see a fight between Peter Punch and Little Mac now. Something with a lot of cliques like, a part where Mac’s struggling and Peter starts this monologue about how he’ll never be as good as him, and so on and so forth before Mac makes some kinda comeback.
1:43 Dog yawn timestamp
Cute dog. Best dog.
I actually really enjoy using Little Mac in Smash. He's one of my favorite fighters to play as because he feels pretty balanced.
Little Mac will always and forever be my favorite smash character. The hardest battles fought are the most rewarding.
4:30 The fact that this was made before the father left with the milk memes existed is hilarious
He can be a whatever tier those pros assign him, I'm still playing him as my only character in smash, He's been there all my life with all his amazing games, I ain't turning my back on my boy Mac
Little Mac: NOO! YOU CAN’T GO INTO THE AIR!!!!!

@@godmer1020 nair is a great combo breaker but do to the fact that it yknow does like 2% not very good other wise and his fair isn't to good for combos cuz ur likely gonna string it into another aerial and his aerials are horrible in terms of damage
"I can't win Doc..."
'Join the Nintendo fun club today Mac!'
The irony of Little Mac is his arc is no different than any real boxer. They often have tragic lives. Sometimes pre, during, and post career.
This video really shed me a tear tho :(( I cant believe that they haven’t made a punch out game in like a decade since the Wii
Man, kinda breaks my heart hearing my favorite character being in a state like this
Fun Fact! 3:04 Pizza Pasta was referenced in Origami King by Luigi. He mentions that he wants to cook a Pizza Pasta after you meet him in Bowser's Castle.

Little Mac "doc I got a grapefruit growing through my eye"
Fun fact as a person who plays little mac use him like your pichu don't get hit cause your hp needs to stay high so he doesn't get launched . His air is literaly 1 move easy to dodge. You can do massive damage and if you can leverage a stock can work but you need need the floor a unstraight battleground. Just jump off now he needs to dash attack and poke at your enemy
13:16 I loved to play little mac from the very beginning and he is also my main to this day. Plus he is underrated. He can really pack a punch if you know how to use him properly.
I want a live action punch out movie!!! Starring Tom Holland
Looking at Holland's face, he maybe more Peter Punch than Little Mac
Jesus now I can't unsee tom holland as mac

As little Mac main, pain is all I know too
I always loved Little Mac not only for his games, but also because I can recognize myself within him...
If you haven’t played Punch Out Wii you should! It’s one of my favorite games of all time and it’s amazing
