there's a romhack of some sorts that does exactly that.
16:02 This is the most devastating betrayal in a video game ever. The uncertain smidge of hope once Tails is out of sight, crushed within seconds by the offscreen ring chimes, warranting a cut off scream. Comedy at its finest.
I wish JWittz was more familiar with Sonic Advance 3's controls. If you hold L, you can carry your teammate, which would prevent them for collecting rings outside of your control. Then you can release L for a team action, which would let Tails fly him around for a while. I would've loved to see how far he could get if he knew the controls.

Well it won’t be long I tell you that.
You could’ve made it a little farther in Shadow if you switched your mission on the pause menu. Sonic and Black Doom will follow you if you’re doing the hero mission and dark mission respectfully. But if you selected the neutral mission, you’d be alone and no one would grab rings.
But this is very entertaining, glad to have you back! 😊
You don’t even need to go in the pause menu. You can just use the D-pad. I think it’s left goes evil path, right goes hero path, and up is neutral. It’s been forever since I’ve played, though.

Not only were both OSTs primarily composed by the same guy (Hideki Naganuma), but the song that plays in that stage of Sonic Rush, Right There Ride On, actually shares a rhythm guitar sample with a Jet Set Radio song, Rock It On. Naganuma himself has said that this was intentional.

This just feels straight up impossible. Unlike Mario, Sonic moved at the highest speeds imaginable and even hardcore memorization can't protect you from rings. This will be interesting...

Not to mention sections that are basically automatic. The Adventure games are probably possible with Hard Core Speed Run strats, but still very difficult
That jump in frame rate from Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (2014) to Sonic CD (1993) was pretty remarkable.

And yeah, there's DEFINITELY an early-2010s feel to the game, and that's like. My favorite era of anything, ever. All the cartoons from that era were great, too (Young Justice season 1 and Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated are still some of my favorite shows ever made)
There were honestly a lot of jumps made where I was surprised you didn't get any rings. The cut off screams made this a really fun one as well!

That was pretty fun to watch challenge even if it might actually be impossible since in many of the Sonic games you can't get past some areas without collecting some rings. It is great to see you making videos again!
Super fun seeing all these Sonic games. I'd love to see a re-edit where the games are in order of release date, so we can see the chronological progression of the graphics and little alterations of mechanics.
Just wanna say, glad to see you go through the 8 bit sonic games. I have yet to see anyone do them in their Sonic challenges and it's good to see the GG and SMS games represented.

I feel like Sonic 06 shouldn't have counted since those are Rings that you don't ACTUALLY collect. They're Rings that are just given to you.

I recommend giving Project 06 by ChaosX a shot after getting a little more of a taste of the original 06. It's really inspirational to see a bad game actually become somewhat fun and playable.

Man, It’s been so long since I’ve seen a TheJWittz video, I used to watch all of your top 10 Pokémon videos and your Pokémon Rumble U vids, glad to see your channel is still up and thriving
I know it was probably for the technicality of the challenge but the special red rings don't add to your count like the red coins in mario.
As a sonic mega fan back in my childhood, I played most of the games featured in this video both good and bad including some not featured in the vid. Watching this makes me want to go back to playing those games again
Having watched the entire video, I still have no idea which one lasted the longest as I wasn't writing the times down.

Sonic Colours was almost 5 min. Others came close, but that’s the winner I believe.
The coin video might be my personal favorite of yours, and this sequel did not disappoint.

Geez it's like doing anything that's against the concept of collecting is so difficult both Mario and Sonic don't give you enough room to not touch any coin or Ring, this was fun going through all the games and hearing you talk Jwittz

Oh man that was a fun one again! Loved seeing mechanics used in unexpected ways.
As soon as I saw you enter that last hole I panicked. I have that game memorised, and yeah rings XDX
city escape is one of the few levels in sa2 that you cant complete without getting a ring due to the boost pads at the end right before the truck chase. no matter where you go it will correct you to the center and you will pick up 5 rings. i did actually end up clipping through by accident but there's no way i could tell you how to even replicate that and im pretty sure it was just a fluke or a trick on my eyes

I didn't expect this video to be so entertaining.
One minor criticism tho: It would be cool to see the cover of the sonic game you are playing somewhere.
Only thing id add to this format is either the name of the game at the bottom or a picture of the box but other then that great work

What’s so painful is in Advance 3 he could’ve used Tails’ tag action to fly over

It gets me every time when you can see the ring coming and then just a hard cut to something else. I don't know why I find that as funny as I do.
I just love how he's so ecstatic to be playing sonic '06 because he at least gets to play a whole section, but then that feeling immediately turns to dread as he realizes he's playing sonic '06, the worst feeling game in the franchise. That's some cruel irony
