@@morosoph That's why I use deosil and widdershins, so long as you remember to screw something IN like you are summoning and screw something OUT like you're banishing you're good, and what kid doesn't know basic goety?
They are, but righty and lefty are also very valid terms. The kid is wrong, but he doesn't know any better. On an X-Y plane, the origin being the center of the circle, if we were to plot the circumference of a circle.. we would define the points using the radius of the circle. So doesn't matter which orientation you draw the axes in, you will always be describing first the radius on positive x-axis with zero angle. And as the angle increases from 0 to 360 (in degree, both being the same reference angle), you will have to move your line plot to the left of the original reference line. All that is to say that righty and lefty is not from our perspective, neither using the "top" or "bottom" as the reference like some people have commented. The righty and lefty is described in relation to the zero degree reference line that describes the radius. Left movement describes a positive change starting from zero, right movement defines a negative change in angle starting from 360.

I love the family interaction, they are great, the three chaos gremlins, the crazy uncles and the dad trying to watch out and not totally ruin the build. I hope that your kids will continue having fun at LTT.
Great video, great build. The girls are so sweet and did a great job decorating all of the components, and Linus’s son has an awesome sense of humour. One of my favourite LTT videos in a long time
40 series is crazy efficient though. I mean it creates a lot of heat but very little of it is wasted and that’s before considering the efficiency of its Deep Learning feature set. 14900k and 7900 XTX would be the true outputer of wasted heat!
I have to agree with his kid regarding "either way can be right", it depends on your perspective! Should be based on clockwise/anticlockwise, rather than left/right, it took me ages to remember which way was which 😅
Oh gosh, just put your right hand straight in front of you (front is where your nose is), stick the thumb out then curl the other fingers. Your thumb is the direction of the screw, the fingers show the direction where you turn to tighten up the screw.
I personally subscribe to the clockwise doctrine! Just because my brain couldn't seem to grasp which direction I was turning when I was on the other side of a fastener...😂
12:18 - he's absolutely correct. English is not my first language and this "righty-tighty" phrase never made any sense to me at all. It's just ambiguous. Clockwise or anti-clockwise is how we refer to rotational directions in my language, that is much harder to misunderstand. :)
It's a lot easier once you compare it to a steering wheel of a car. Or if you don't have experience with cars. Which way does a ball roll when rolling that direction? You just need to think of the top of the circle and which way you are trying to tighten something. (Away or towards you.) After years of wrenching on things, I still need to double check when my hand goes behind something in a weird or novel way. The importance isn't the "clockwise" versus "right" it's that your frame of reference is understood. If we are on opposite sides of a fence "anti/clockwise" is opposite for you and me. Turning something to the "right" isn't any more ambiguous AFTER you learn it once. The only downside I see with "clockwise" is that it's not a commonly used word for the average non-do-it-yourself person. So it might take longer, but at least they will get it correct eventually. Tightening being one way, and almost always clockwise, might not be common knowledge so you assume they know that clockwise is what you want if you say to "tighten" something. "Righty-tighty" is something even a child can remember. (But then they need to remember which "right" is correct haha)
It is in the perspective of the screw. Imagine standing on it and turning to the right side. Btw you can buy left turning clocks. Clocks only turn „clockwise“ because the shadow of a sun dial turns this direction on the northern hemisphere. So a traditional Australian watch should turn the other way. To irritate everyone: you have to turn your screwdriver to the left, when you want your screws to turn right. Because the perspective changes between the screwhead and the drivers tip.
That was also confusing for me as a kid. Turns out, it's from the right-hand rule. Something I learned in college. Basically, take your right hand and do a thumbs-up. Your thumb is the screw and the way your fingers curl is the way you turn to tighten it. (not the best explanation, look up the right hand rule...though there are variants).
Righty tighty lefty loosey.. That's what the phrase is in the end.. I guess if you've never heard it, it probably makes a little less sense.. it's just a thing that you keep in your head to remind yourself if you're worried you're going the wrong way or whatnot.. useful to me for sure, but I get right and left mixed up a lot.. Funny enough, my dad could never get right and left but when he joined the Coast guard, he could get port and starboard.. If you were ever in the boy scouts in America, there was a lot of those things going around for different knots different things basically everything had a little catchphrase, and it sounds stupid but it's not it really isn't lol.. unless you learn the catchphrase wrong or misunderstand it.. That's why I could never tie a square knot, the context of right over left and left over right, I didn't realize that right and left were switching places... So I can never figure out why I was getting it wrong.. until like objectively I pulled the phrase apart in my head as well as a knot, it was so ingrained it was actually hard to just follow the logic... Still have trouble even though I know better lol.

2:00 the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
*drop
Everything else does lol
but it surely falls!
Fall -get it?
@@AnshulGuptaAG you know what else doesn't drop?
12:18 and that’s why clockwise and counterclockwise is the superior term
Except with today's kids, you would need to spend the next 30 minutes explaining how an analog clock works, and putting up with the "wow, you're old" sass.
😅
@@morosoph That's why I use deosil and widdershins, so long as you remember to screw something IN like you are summoning and screw something OUT like you're banishing you're good, and what kid doesn't know basic goety?
From the screw's POV, clockwise is wrong.
@morosoph Basically every school classroom has an analog clock on the wall lol
Luke: “Birds produce a lot of dandruff”
Linus: “cool”
I love the family interaction, they are great, the three chaos gremlins, the crazy uncles and the dad trying to watch out and not totally ruin the build. I hope that your kids will continue having fun at LTT.
Great video, great build. The girls are so sweet and did a great job decorating all of the components, and Linus’s son has an awesome sense of humour. One of my favourite LTT videos in a long time
this felt wholesome. To see you work with the kids was great.
Omg so many funny lines in this “I heard this is kinda in style though that triangle patch” lol
Can't wait for Lukes next pokemon based system to be fire. Would just need to run a 4090 and a thread ripper.
A 4090 and a 14900K 😂
40 series is crazy efficient though. I mean it creates a lot of heat but very little of it is wasted and that’s before considering the efficiency of its Deep Learning feature set. 14900k and 7900 XTX would be the true outputer of wasted heat!
Yes without a cooler installed for that fire theme :D
Remember their collab with hacksmiths?
24:55, surprised we didn't get a "like I approve of this message... from our sponser"
I have to agree with his kid regarding "either way can be right", it depends on your perspective! Should be based on clockwise/anticlockwise, rather than left/right, it took me ages to remember which way was which 😅
Clockwise from the front or from behind?
@@d313m5 heh, good point!
(Away or towards you.)
After years of wrenching on things, I still need to double check when my hand goes behind something in a weird or novel way.
Given that most people under the age of 30 can't tell time using an analog clock, they don't know which direction the clock hands move.
10:07 "cool."
He does NOT care 😂😂
21:40 Is your blood in my computer?
yes
NICE!
and definitely tears
Yeah he can make a clone of Linus
This is, without a doubt, the most entertaining video you guys have released in a long time. Well done.
Its genuinely a really nice build- with exception to the real moss which..could end up causing some issues but I do love it.
12:02 Children always sooooo honest XD
16:42
Luke: how does this work ?
Linus: its moss
Luke: is that okay that okay though is it gonna rot ?
Linus: well we fluffed it
Luke: is it gonna rot ?
Linus: now its fluffed
funniest exchange ever i swear lmfaoo
17:51 😂 Apple doesn't fall far from the tree
2:01 Definitely Linus' kid.
Luke: So he got the rad and fans installed by himself?
Linus: *starting into the distance* nah.
This needs 2nd part to see how much time it holds.
I love the look on his son's face whenever Linus is reading sponsor script to the camera
3:10 he did the linus smile
Wow can't believe he's like actually a dad now. I've been watching this channel for more than a decade, and this has got to be my favourite build ever.
5:15 ohhhh Linus 😂 that level of sassiness is like a 3 your kids are basically angels
I love how the kids say everytime when asked to do something, they say "please" . This is so amazing , perfect grown-up kids. Congrats to both of you, Linus & Ivone ! Btw, the PC looks amazing! Good job kids!
5:15 will in l the top moments in a few years
I love how at 12:06 he said "the back is so shit" hahahaha
knew i heard that too 🤣
He said it's sharp but it would fit anyway
