Also, people buying it will pay more.
I had a Epiphone Les Paul. Some dude offered to pay extra because he thought I'd sell it before he got it, and that it was a genuine gibson brand, not a epiphone mock-up or whatever you'd say. Same look, different price.

Brilliant is not the sponsor today.
yea a website using very generalised data said about $2000 a vid from adsence, on top of that throw 2 sponsor slots in the video i recon he isnt shilling more than $2000 for one of these even without intel covering the bill. and what way to increse corporate loyalty that to make the place they spend most of their time in better at your expence. take incresed store sales from the video, good will bonus of helping his staff etc. its probably profitable for him to make these and that $2000 could be covered by that, on top of being a better per dollar incentive than actually increasing their wage.

Here I am, 1 year later re-watching Alex's Intel Extreme Tech Upgrade, and Linus said he doesn't know Secret Lab. Man, a lot happens in one year.
Just shows how's they dominated during the pandemic.
Former RF Engineer here: Yeah antenna's have a polarity. Unless you're otherwise told, keep your antenna's in the orientation described in the documentation or worst case, in the product pictures. There's two orientations that are acceptable, and your transmitters and receivers should be in the same polarity, which for wifi gear is almost always vertical unless you know know what you're doing.
Is it correct that the idea is that the antennas signal "spreads" concentrically?
Would WiFi antennas have effect on my vaccine?

VHB Tape removal pro tip: When removing them, try to pull at a corner as if trying to stretch them over the surface they're affixed to (like pulling at 3M Command adhesive strips). The stretching releases the bond between the tape and the surface, and promotes them coming off in one piece. Trying to lift or pry them off only makes them tear. This method applies to other stretchy foam tapes as well.

Did RGB RAM draw more power than other LED RAM? I had RAM with LEDs in like 2010
Yeah. Older LED RAM sticks had just a single LED per field, while RGB has three per field
Yeah probably, seeing an RGB LED is three LEDs, and two or three of them are lit to mix colors, plus there might be more clusters of RGB LEDS so that you can do more intricate patterns, plus the microcontroller that drives them.
The other commitment are correct, but there is also the fact that the RGB effect needs better defusing for it to look good, so each of the LEDs have to be brighter on there own as well as the added circuitry and just straight increase in numbers of LEDs.
@Aryan Padhy I think it would be an increase in current over voltage. Likely 3x that of a standard LED
@Aryan Padhy Voltage for LEDs depends on color heavily; instead you target some current value (most commonly, ~20mA) and put a resistor to step down the provider voltage by a desired amount (can use 3.3V or 5V rails; forward voltage required for LEDs to operate in "typical" conditions ranges from about 2V for red LEDs to about 4V for violet and white LEDs).
Also somewhat unfortunately, LEDs start drawing more current as they heat up so that has to be stabilized as well.

_Promptly looks over at computer that has 9 drives plugged into it...._
There was a moment when I had a Windows XP PC with like 5 drives plugged, 3 of which were IDE - 2x80gb and one 20 gb one, there also was an 80 gb WD SATA drive and a 500gb Samsung HD502HJ that is still used on the PC I am writing this comment from. I had a very low tier gaming PC and started upgrading parts slowly over the years, that was about 6 years ago. The very first thing I bought for it was the case, a Corsair Vengeance C70. My friends laughed at me for upgrading the case first because I had a low tier micro ATX board with an i5 3330 in it. 6 years later I am very happy I got that case for ~$60 USD back then. It's discontinued and the one I have is in pristine condition. It has 6 drives in it. That and my 710+, best purchases ever.

I feel that pain. Been considering NAS for ages now but it's kinda pricey so... Just one more drive can't hurt right...
Every.damn.time.
Same, thought I am just on 5 drives on Lancool II Mesh case and 2 on the motherboard (NVMe).
I honestly find it hard to buy a NAS when you can just buy the drives and chuck it into the case.
Then again I have been considering to buy one.... for the past 6 years or so... 🤷
@@GothicDragonX Before you make the investment to get a server/nas it's just so easy and cheap to add another drive to your computer instead.
It is worth it in the end, but then you'll still find yourself wanting lots and lots of local drives for speeeed :D

"if you need more than 1 or 2 hard drives these days, it's time to get a NAS because you're a data hoarder"
...and I took that personally
My understanding of router antennas are that they should all be at different angles. This gives you more chance that the radio wave lines up with the connecting device's antenna .
Edge case to the extreme. In most cases, vertical positioning will be optimal. There's a chance horizontal orientation will slightly enhance propagation to receivers above or below the transmitter.
@@dpwellman Not really, you can test it yourself. You have them all pointed up, go far enough to get 2 out of 3 wifi bars, then point the antenna in the direction you were just in, go back to the same spot, you'll have 3 bars now.
It's best to have at least one pointed towards each hotspot of your house such as living room, bedrooms, etc.
@@dpwellman Oh. Why it would be beneficial to send 4 or 6 signals out in the same orientation? I assume they are all duplicates of the same signal (unlike old yagi antennas need to be spaced according to the wavelength). Honestly I would almost think that would cause more issues with interference patterns or something, so maybe I have no idea how they work at all :P
@@pcmasterracetechgod5660 No, really. For most installations, you have the effort backwards. if anything, signal enhancement is more likely achieved orintating receiver to transmitter.
I've several experiments with 2.4GHz at ranges between 800 and 3200 meters. And have a Yagi installation at 7 miles
Although once into the 1 Watt range, it hardly matters.
@@IrocZIV Polarization. Again, we're speaking in the most general case. A 90° orientation for all antennas will satisfy optimal propagation in most cases. And, it follows, generally, the place to mess with angles is at the receiving end.
If your router supports it, the best way to increase "range" is to use more efficient antennas.

@@0xEden. you can get a condenser mic but the extra steps of having a good interface and a noise gate makes it a bit annoying compared to a dynamic. I'm rocking a at2020 and a focusrite with a noise gate. For about 4 years now.
Alex gets major rep points for being a fellow *CHAD* Logitech G27 user 👌👌
whoever had the awkward laugh when Sarah said "Alex likes to nail things directly into the wall" had me dying
As probably the only person that noticed the MCM poster at the back, thank you for being a man of taste 👌🏿😉
0:21 "it brokey". Intens twomad flashbacks
26:45 Sarah is taller than Linus!
22:52 the dire scene every employee wants his employer to see in
i love how alex doesn't hide anything form him and he has a reason for everything
"It's time to get a NAS because you're a data hoarder" *looks over at my PC with 6 drives of varying types adding up to 16TB* hahaha yeah he has a problem
pretty sure it will be cheaper to get 2 8tb or 1 16tb than 6 different hard drives
@@qupeter1224 probably, but this was acquired over years, not at once.
@@qupeter1224 but when that drive dies all your data is gone compared with 25% if it's 4 drives that make up the 16tb.
Alex is one of my favourite people at LTT! He’s cool lol
He is the best to me, ... Waay better than Anthony or Luke.
I wonder if its Alex or his wife that is reading a book on my favourite Stanford professor.
Amazing. The LED's in the Shelf make the Microsoft Logo
Alex having to wear a mask in his own house and Linus doesn't sometimes
I love how he’s not a try hard advertiser for his own products
6:19. The brutal honesty of Alex is just so funny. 😄 Keep doing what you're doing buddy!
That exotic cooling solution montage was absolutely amazing
18:23 yeah no one wants mobs spawning in their office
lmfao got me dead 💀😂
Alex having a signed MCM poster is actually really cool
Alex is 100% on point about the audio gear. Low end music gear is 1000x better than "gamer" audio gear.
My friend and his girlfriend are really tall and they told me the Secret Lab chairs are probably the only comfortable chairs you can buy if you are super tall.
they are also so expensive
What is super tall tho?
Just wanna give congrats to whoever made the intro it’s absolutely amazing
26:26 "You have two trained Eunichs here to help you move around all your stuff."
*double take* Did I just hear that right??? 😂
Sounded a little aggressive. Wonder if there's more behind it
22:44 lmao
honestly this is the most normal tech upgrade i would probably go along the same lines as something like this (obvs with more modern components). also ive noticed that my elitebook g3 pairs to airpods gen 3 like 1 second after i open the case but takes between 5 and 10 seconds to pair to anything else. annoying as i like to connect headphones and earbud style earphones over airpods
love the video keep it up lads
11:27 tfw you learn something weird about your boss
Corsair Air 540!!!! I love mine. I have upgrades so many parts inside of it, but I am keeping the case for as long as possible.
3:08 Canada: wait we did what?
I've been waiting for alex. He's one of the few smart ones.
4:58 this is actually great advice. I have a pair of budget studio headphones and the sound quality is leagues ahead of any 'gaming' headphones for the same price.
