Mad respect for you for not backing down on the original intention of your video. I never took it as you throwing “ hate or shade” at these channels. I saw it purely as facts and a realistic view on reselling. I’ve been doing this long enough to know the difference. I’ve also been watching this type of content on RUclips for years , so again, sometimes we all need a dose of reality.

He's totally right! Many content creators make it seem like you go to the Goodwill outlet on one day and get tons of vintage and high end brand name items that you can easily sell. That just is not really how it works for most people. I feel like most people have to sell more mid level stuff and just make less on each item because there just isn't anything high end in their area.

I was kinda surprised that Harry Tornado commented on that video, considering that you never hinted anything towards his channel. I have my own mixed feelings at times about that channel. On the one hand its quirky, light-hearted and fun, but on the other its like, " ok, do they really expect someone to buy that from them? How dumb do they think we are?" And, yep, someone buys it. It's almost like a cult following. I find it kind of insulting. I consider them more content creators than resellers, but I do appreciate that he's been honest about that.

Most of that type of youtuber gets a lot of odd item sales from fans that want to buy something weird and often times asks for it to be autographed for them. but they don't put that part in their videos. I have been selling on ebay for years and my experiences has been nothing like these guys portray it to be. You're not going to find Burberry at goodwill. They have a team of employees that pick through to find these items so they can go up on the goodwill website. My suspicion is they get these items from another source, pay up for them and then claim they come from thrifting for the views. but I am a bit cynical also.

Another great video. No need to apologize for shining the spotlight on the guys who buy 2021 print-on-tag Weezer shirts at yard sales and then sell those to their fans for $10 on Whatnot. Same thing with pointing out that 90% of the country can't go to flea markets 12 months/year and buy jerseys and 3D Harley shirts for $1/item. There's nothing wrong with what those guys are doing--but it's not the whole story. A lot of them are just clickbait mills, too.

Thank you thank you thank you for speaking the truth!!! Been selling on eBay for years and definitely have not had the experience that the "eBay look at what I sell" people have,it's great that they have those sales but just want more honesty and back story, tired of "I just bought 50 items and sold all in a week" type posts,I've literally bought those items that they said "fly off the shelf" only to have it sit for literally months to a year,my rating is a 100% and I offer free shipping and ship same day! So what exactly am I doing wrong when I buy the things that those sellers on those channels brag about? Ok done ranting! Love your channel and finally someone straight up honest!! You have my vote sir.
Reselling is not a walk in the park at all for most people and youtubers need to quit making it a facade like were all just gonna be rolling in the dough from it. The youtubers that have tons of subscribers make a ton of money from their followers as buyers and views/ads. That combo is where the bank roll is.
Sure you can make a living from it if you work really hard at it everyday but it takes a work ethic of the gods as well as expert level skill trade to make it a real full time gig if you aren't a youtuber funneling buyers in that way.

Technsports is a brilliant businessman deserves all he has earned, but where he lives vs 98% of viewers home shopping areas are two different things. I live in Ohio and due to the weather the flea markets are not as developed. There are people there just selling out of the back of their cars, but they want retail for their items and they have two vintage shirts. My sales are going to be over 100k this year in my second year of reselling it is nothing but hard work and a grind (which I love). I will never work for another person ever again. That being said, I'm in North Carolina and every time I go to the thrift I do find really good things. Same with my retail arbitrage experiences. I do think I'm lucky with where I live and people often don't believe me when I say what I found and I'm not even a youtuber. I think some people also don't like seeing others have success when they are not, and so they make up excuses as to why they're struggling. Its a complex topic!

@@ZRFinanceI think it speaks more to the cult of personality than anything. The Reseller Podcast for example he used to do with Daily Refinement built him up and almost mythologized him in the reselling community. Go back and watch one of the earliest episodes, for example, and you’ll hear claims like how he used to single-handedly list 150 items a day, every day, and also source them all. Physically impossible claims, and highly exaggerated stuff like “30 second photos” - yeah, surely nothing can go wrong from only spending half a minute with an item. Surely the photos won’t come out blurred, or you won’t miss a flaw, etc.
TLDR it’s basically because of the group and how much they’ve been conditioned to view the dude as THE FOREMOST AUTHORITY on reselling. If there was a Mount Rushmore of reselling, many would just insert Tech’s face multiple times. Kinda like his latest thumbnail lol.

Everything he had said is legit. It doesn’t mean the resellers he discusses aren’t really selling. It’s just calling out the truth. Tech has multiple businesses and he has already made a lot with reselling, so he can afford to treat reselling as a hobby now, traveling long distances that don’t make logistical or economic sense for most. He also lives in an area that isn’t like most of the USA. Why did he quit if he’s on top instead of scaling bigger and stepping away from the day to day? Why doesn’t he talk about his other businesses anymore? I have multiple businesses I don’t work in because my employees handle it all now that I have grown the business enough. I freely admit that. JRide has said in the past that he plans to make a lot from content creation because he has a background in it. That’s his real goal. And Hustle at
Home has laid out all her numbers and she makes most of her money from advertising and RUclips, not reselling. The proof is literally in all the content these people have uploaded to YT.

Tech is a reseller cult leader - His followers drink the Kool Aid. He commands a certain loyalty - a loyalty he did not show to Chris Lin. I used to be one of them - I’m glad I got out from under that situation. Keep up the good work - your videos are a breath of fresh air.

Hi! I’ve watched a couple of your videos. To be honest your most recent one about finding a lot of stuff at the goowills you hit up was a good video but the fact you kept repeating yourself in saying that this doesn’t happen to you regularly just made you look guilty in a sense because that’s not the original intention of your video. You weren’t misleading anyone. The resellers I’ve watched post videos of their great day finds and low days of not finding anything. It’s normal. My question is what’s the purpose of your videos? Most of the resellers who make RUclips videos focus of their own purpose of making their videos. They don’t talk about anyone else or compare. They just do what they do and share it with people. I find it hard to watch your videos because the focus of them isn’t solid. I would love to watch more of your videos in the future once you figure out the purpose and direction you want to go in for making your videos. Focusing on yourself and your day to day and not having to mention anyone else. To me that is more respectable. Thank you for putting your content out there.

My past few videos were made to help new ebay resellers. I wanted them to know that they are not going to get huge hauls everyday like it seems to be the case on reseller youtube. The time i end up recording myself i get my best haul to date. I don’t want people to think i can get hauls like that all the time.

His purpose on making his videos isn’t about bragging or anything extraordinary. I’m not apart of his group but I’m one of the few who has actually watched more than one or two of his videos to understand his purpose in making his videos. It’s to help people. He never advertises his group that people pay for. He only speaks on it when people ask him about it in his Live Q and A’s. He takes the time to answer every single question and replies to every person’s comment. For the amount of hate and doubt he gets he sure does put a lot of effort into fooling people. He mentions time and time again the reason people aren’t finding a lot of things are because they lack the knowledge or don’t have enough knowledge and pass on things that could really sell and pick up things that don’t sell for much or sell at all. I don’t pay for his group, but I will tell you this. I’ve learned so much from his videos and work ethic that I’m seeing results in my own personal reselling sales. People can talk all they want but if the majority has been benefiting from his videos and advice that alone should speak for itself. This reselling shit is hard. We all know that.

@@viviileee Responses like this just add to the cultish look. I'm not sure what videos you are watching but every video that's not a Q&A (and some that are) has 2-3 minutes of him telling us he was the number one seller as well as details about the group. I don't fault him for it at all, he should be flexing and advertising. But to say he doesn't simply is not true. I like the guy and he's helped me quite a bit, but he's not perfect.
