I normally don't leave comments, But WOW, This Video gave me all the info I needed. I'm extremely pleased with the info, I love that it was short and precise, direct to the point, and the info on the caption about the materials was highly complementary, I was impressed. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks a LOT! please keep doing it! You rule!

What do you do for the inside of furniture like dressers and drawers? Do you use anything to condition or seal them, or just give them a good cleaning?

You recommend the BIN Shellac primer but I was wondering if the Bullseye 123 primer from Zinzser will also work okay?

It works, but not as well as BIN shellac primer does.

How do you sand with your Surfprep without getting pigtail swirls? I’ve tried everything- frequently changing pads, using light to no pressure, going slowly in the direction of the grain etc. I still get them. Every. Single. Time.

You might need to get a new pad saver pad, or a new red pad. If your old pad is worn out or has stuff stuck in it, then the swirls will still come, no matter what you do.
Once you have clean pads and clean sandpaper, and do the other things you mentioned, you shouldn’t get the swirls.

@@ARayofSunlight that’s what surf prep suggested too so I ordered both and they just came in. Thanks for replying. 😍

You missed steps like wiping down with a clean rag after cleaning with soap. Otherwise that soap stays there and can cause issues when going to paint. You also forgot to mention that people should wipe down their projects after sanding. It seems obvious, but people who are new to this may not think to do this. Also, you should lightly sand after the primer and each coat of paint in order to get the smoothest finish.

Thank you! Should there be any top coating after the painting?

@@koko137591 Yes. I recommend a top coat. If you're using a water-based paint, use a water-based top coat. Always use the same base type of paint and top coat. Miss-matching can lead to problems.
