As a person who does furniture restoration, I confess that most of these people on RUclips make my skin crawl with this chalk painting. You, on the other hand, understand the assignment. Well done with the entire process. We are all still ever learning, but thank you for your humbleness in recognizing your boo boos.
This is my all time favorite look. It is so beautiful and sophisticated. It's timeless and elegant, in my opinion. It's not just a piece of firniture, it's a work of art.
I love the way she lies on the floor when painting the bottom part and then stays there a while. It's what I would do too. And I like the way she talks about what she is doing while she does. I know other flippers do too but this lady is soo relaxing to watch, love it!
I have a mid century furniture set from my Grandmother and have been looking for a good way to have it keep some of the wood but add some color. This video has convinced me to do a similar look to what you did here. I can't wait to get started and get this furniture looking absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for posting and including your newbie mistakes as well because it is going to be such an easier and more beautiful set of furniture making sure to do everything correctly.
I’ve watched a lot of furniture rehab videos and this one, YOU, have explained questions I had in my head and some I didn’t know to ask. Keep up the great videos!
❤‼ Beautiful finished piece👍. [ON a related topic - From a wood lover and restorer, a HUGE amount of love and gratitude to ALL refinishers and flippers - including myself of decades ago: You make reversal of dated, trendy and tasteless travesties a less angst-filled ordeal. 🤝‼😌]
I love how you finish off the cupboard and drawers inside - it's my absolute bug bear when people randomly splash paint on the inside and just think its hidden. Great work!!
Yes, please tell us about primers. Also, thank you for demonstrating and educating us with the way you do things, your reasons for doing them, and what NOT to do!
...loove the pause-scene! Makes it so real and relateable...and very beautifully done. I admire your patience with so many worksteps!Great work, great video, I definetely learned something!
I absolutely love this piece but what I like most about your video is your attention to detail. I always say that its in the details that will set you apart from others and you've proven that to me once again! I can't get over that you bought this piece for only $100 too ....just wow! great job, fantastic look and you've earned another subscriber! lol
Definite Newbie here! Frightened to try my first piece. 1950's telephone table with two drawers. I love the look of this dresser and appreciate the tutorial. Thank you so much!
I have the exact matching chest to your piece and was trying to decide how to do a 2-tone black/stained piece. Thank you for all the words of wisdom..I love the look you created.
Furniture flipping problems: Applying wax all over everything because it smells amazing. I love the black and wood tone look. I wouldn't have thought to do the stripes on the drawers, but it definitely looks dapper! Awesome transformation Sabby!
I'm watching the begining of the video and I have to say that you found a fantastic piece. I'm so happy that you are making it beautiful. Yes, would love to know when to use which primers. OMGGGGGG! You're eye found a beautiful piece and you took it to such a level that it makes me want to cry with joy!! You are soooooo talented. I just love your work. Wish I had a huge home so that I could incorporate this beauty into my decor.
yes, please, primer tutorial! I have water-based and shellac-based. I prefer water-based when possible due to fumes but want to make sure I don't use it when I need shellac-based. Thank you!
I'm watching your video and I have a laminate piece. You took your sander and I thought.....I can do that. Oh hell no. Now I know what's under the laminate. Had to tape and paint but all is good. I think I should practice on something I don't care about. Lesson learned. Love the results to this great piece of furniture. The curves are so pretty.
I love how carried away you got with the lavender wax! But I subscribed for the comment about being stuck to the floor then saying, "Nope, not that old yet!"
I love it, I have the complete set, dresser, the chest is huge , two- night stands an I was wondering what color it do it in , now I know thanks, the price looks”AWESOME “:, I’m proud of you and I will be using the same products , especially the wax, Great Job
Hi there, just started doing some furniture makeovers for my new farmhouse and have so much to learn. Would really love it if you could send the primer video. This has been one of the questions I've been seeking to have answered and you're the only one that has mentioned it. So grateful for your help. Subscribed from Australia. Love your videos and work.
This is beautiful. I have an old dresser, I got from my neighbor, and I am refinishing it, for my son. I am trying to remove some veneer, or laminate, or whatever it is. I am doing things to this dresser, for practice…so I know what I have to do later. I am really enjoying the process, though.
I am needing to prime a laminate shelf and was very interested to see your sanding and priming methods. A very informative and helpful video. Best wishes Alison
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm just beginning to furniture flip and had no idea how to start. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and skills!
Stupendous! I love the two color look. I'm a newbie (probably a one-cie), so I appreciate the advice. I'm going to do this to my rustic, pine dresser and chest of drawers.
I watched this video and shocked that your booth is in Featured nest!, I met the same lady who turned me onto mineral fusion paint. Like your work might see you there sometime.
I just did the same dresser in a similar way. I added gold legs and had to paint the bottom drwaers black because of some chipping. And made the wood raw with a little driftwood stain. I love this style
@@SabsRehabs yep I can see that. I’ve been watching videos by different people who have turned into a business or a hobby. I’ve become interested. Just waiting for right time, mainly money to get into it
I found a dresser very much like this one but it also had the mirror. I also did it a combination of black and stain and it looked like a dresser in a tuxedo. I did sell it. New subscriber!!
To make it easy with cleaning u must hoover it first. Dry clean first. Use a brush, and a tooth brush in corners to fast clean, then the wet clean comes easy and fun. And use mineral spirit at the very end to wipe before sanding/painting. If u fancy that is 😉.
I love your work - you are so talented! You also have a great way of teaching the how-to’s of furniture painting! And now O am in love with your backyard - gorgeous!
So informative! Thank you for sharing all your tips and Newbie mistakes. Also really love the soft jazz you play in between your instructions. Beautifully restored piece!
When I first saw the title and a glimpse of your piece I thought 'No way, that looks like *a professional refurb'!* How you wove in your newbie tips while producing a high quality piece is an awesome juxtaposition : D The dresser/ credenza/ buffet (so many uses) is Gorgeous!!! It is *so unique and the two tone you chose has elevated the look* of this MCM unit and a good one to show as an example of the *quality of your work! 5 stars* for every aspect of this video...liked the calm voice-over too. Sab's Rehabs - sweeeet!!!
I absolutely agree on this comment, you brought this beautiful piece to a higher level... Also loving the fact that these gorgeous pieces of furniture are being saved from landfills...
Beautiful sophisticated and anyone would love to own this, an amazing focal point in your home. I'm gonna try to find something similar, fingers crossed, my husband would also love it. Thanks for the video and have a great day 🌹
Great video! Thanks for adding a small snippet of “real time” sanding was very helpful. It reminded me how I need to not push and rush the sander when prepping a piece. Wonderful tips!
Who would love to have this piece in their house also?! Loved doing this flip!
Me of course, also living in London uk 🇬🇧
New subscriber, loved the vid.
