    I'm going to tell you one thing that you may not already know: Your transparent premade stamps are made from photopolymer, which is a waterbased material but ALL Stazons inks are solvent/oil based substance (that's why they're able to adhere to non porous materials like plastic) And that's also why you get that poor results. Because the stamp itself dont absorb the ink at all, and you're kind of smudging it onto those plastic film. Now try using one of those rubber based premade stamps (solid dark gray/orange color) And see how crisps the images are with that same ink!!

    Hi Abi, I have been working with shrink plastic before they even made shrink plastic. We use to use the plastic lids from the paper soda cups at the fast food places to make our shrink items. So if there is someone who doesn't have the shrink plastic they can use plastic lids. To color your items you can use colored pencils, permanent markers, and acrylic paint. However, when using pencils you should rough up the plastic with fine grit sandpaper first. Then with the acrylic paint you need to use a really thin coat of paint because when it shrinks it gets darker and thicker and it will create a texture if the paint is too this. I find that the best thing to color with is permanent markers because you don't have any of these problems. Just remember what ever you do before you bake it with thicken and get darker after baking. So even the size hole you make is important, because if you don't make the hole big enough you won't have a hole after baking. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Hope this helps! Take care, Dee😊

    Hi! just wanted to let you know that you can actually use the Staz on stamp cleaner to remove the Staz on ink from the shrink plastic if you didn't manage to get a good impression the first few times. That way you don't waste the plastic :-)

      You can also use acetone/nail polish remover to remove the ink. You can also use permanent markers to trace a design that you want to make.

    They look amazing! :) In Germany you can get a milky kind of shrink plastic too, that you can color on with color pencils, because it's a bit textured (rough). The colors intensify when it shrinks and it looks amazing. I loved to do that as teenager.

  • @SuzieBender

    Hello I wanted to give you a tip.. The reason you did not get a great impression with your stamp is because with clear stamps you have to buff them with a nail buffer- file.. Because they have a film on them that you have to remove in order for them to work properly. You will see a huge difference in the quality of your image. Have fun and thank you for sharing! Suzette :)

    I haven't done this in a long time, but I used to go over the plastic with a fine grade sand paper to scuff it up before stamping (keeps the stamp from moving and smudging the ink), then after the ink dries color it in with colored pencil before baking (I baked it in my regular oven rather than a toaster oven). If you color with pencils, you have to make it dark so it shows up well when shrunk.

    And just something I noticed form using shrink plastic is when you use wax paper that's what makes it curl up. 😀 so if you use a small, metal pan it shouldn't curl. 🎀

    I'm going to try cutting some shapes out with my mini die cut machine. I got it off Temu, and it works great, but never tried it on shrink plastic. Fingers crossed! I'll have to find my biggest diecuts, but seeing the mini's opening is only about 3 inches, I'm hoping what I choose will be big enough! :) I've gotten tons of diecuts, so should be able to find something. Thank you for the video, and I've subscribed! Love your happy attitude!

    You can buy the one that is textured on one side to use colored pencils to color on that textured side. As for me, I like the image outline on the clear smooth side and when ink is dried... color on the back
    Oh and cut out before coloring
    This is one plastic craft I love to use my brother scan n cut 2 for
    It does amazing at drawing with a fine tip sharpie and then the machine cutting it out with all smooth edges and cut the hole where I want it. Scan in any kids line drawing and have the machine draw it in any size with shrinking taken into consideration... hole puck and make earrings or charms fro grandma along with the kids signature

      @DeeEll86442 9 лет назад

      You don't have to be able to draw, Abi. You can trace any picture you want to copy with a permanent marker. Heck, you can even mix creations by tracing a part of one picture, then tracing a part of a different picture. I have even made 3D animals by tracing the whole animal and then tracing two legs and then shrinking them all and glueing them together after baking. It's super cute because they stand up on their own. I'd love to see you try that one. Take care, Dee

    • @LoriensCraftBox
      @LoriensCraftBox  7 лет назад +3

      Not impossible, but you would need acrylic cutters or something like that. If it's just a little bit you might be able to sand it down, but I think it would be quicker to just remake the piece depending on how detailed it is. Also, if you tape your shrink plastic down to a piece of paper or draw on a large sheet of shrink plastic you probably won't forget.
