    If you want considerable vehicle performance in subtle packaging, you might consider an Audi. Here's an example...it's the all new 2020 S6. And even though it just looks like a handsome German sedan, beneath this sheet metal is over 400hp. Let's take a closer look.

    Don't be to quick to say the 6 has more power. The last model was rated at 450 and many have dyno'd it at 480 stock. It's got a few nice upgrades but given all the displays and the small engine, I'll stick with the last model. I turn off and retract my center display all the time, makes such a clean look. Does the new one have FLIR like the last? It's great to find cops hiding in the dark on the side of the road. lol
    4.4, too slow Hope that's just Audi's posted time and not the actual time. Factory C7 was 3.7/12.2 a quick tune is 3.5/11.8

      An issue I'm waiting to see is the stop/start on turbos. Turbos need to be idled for 10-15 seconds to slow down. You can't shut the oil off on a turbo like that and expect any kind of a normal life.

    • @Todd.T
      @Todd.T 3 года назад +2

      It pretty much is the same as the V8. The outgoing V8 had turbo issues unless you stayed on disassembling the units to clean the oil filters. Even still then the turbos would fail. The car weighs a bit less and makes the same torque and a bit less power which would make it on par with a C7.5, the last V8. Obviously the V8 sounds better.
      I'd have to drive it before I really finally gave it my blessing though. I have a 3.0T Stage2 and can destroy a gen 1 S6. More torque, more hp, lighter car, instant power from supercharger.

    • @datsuntoyy
      @datsuntoyy 3 года назад

      @@Todd.T The stage 2 with pully 3.0 on 93 octane have almost the exact same HP and torque rating as a stock S6 c7.5 (APR). The cars weigh essentially the same. No way you will "destroy" a gen 1 S6 with a competent driver. That being said with all the work that goes into a stage 2 3.0, it's nothing compared to a stage 1 4.0l. A stage 1 4.0 will destroy a stage 2 3.0 (+50hp and 150lbft torque).
      The turbo issues were generally fixed after the first few years, '15 on. I have 110k on my '13 and original untouched turbos. But to be fair, at 45,000 waranty replaced the vent breather so they MAY have done the TSB at that point and removed the screens. Nothing was mentioned in my service report as to this being done however. I just know how to drive a turbo.

      The list gets bigger and bigger. Some have changed and don't run 93 anymore. A 4-5 car difference in a race means the other guy had no chance. An S6 alone, when new, is significantly more expensive than an A6/A7 so I'd say running 3k worth of mods on an A6/A7 is fair. For a car with an engine that is 33% larger with two power adders instead of only one and those power adders have higher potential. For a car with a dual clutch transmission vs a car with a torque converter transmission. I'd say its fair that I change some pulleys and some software.

    • @Todd.T

      @@datsuntoyy 2 pulleys and software isn't heavily modified. The guys that port their blowers, use a better fueling system, e85, large throttle bodies and with exhaust run 10s. The fastest being 10.3, i think.
      Every increase of10hp is generally a car length, every loss of 100 pounds is a car length. The problem is, using charts is that it doesn't tell you when and how the hp-tq is delivered.
      A lot of these guys lowered their time 3 tenths with a transmission tune. Now they can launch at 3000+rpm and scream up to a 7400 RPM redline instead of 6200 and bang into the next gear hard. You can't do that with a stock ZF8 transmission.
      You saw the cars are definitely that fast, and with fuel, approach 11s.
      It really does takes a stage one S6 to tackle a 93 octane DP 3.0 with a trans tune. Drivability wise, I don't have room to open up a big turbo car, but if you want punchy light to light performance, a 3.0T with a trans tune is pretty much the winner.
      Leaving Las Vegas on my way to Primm? Nobody in the way and higher speeds would favor the S6.
      Most guys that went S6 say they should have gone RS7. I still would prefer the S6 because, I like the car better and would run Stage 2 but have a set of SRM turbos ready.
      Despite anybody's luck with S6 turbos, there are just too many people with them that have failed and some of them owned the car since new, did all the precautions with the oil screens an still had failures.
      The S6 causes the most anxiety of all of the C7 variants. In the used market, A6 to S6 there can be a 10K difference for the older car with 2 turbos that might go People that drive theirs daily just don't want to take that chance.
      I'd love a Sepang blue S6, but I just don't need any turbo anxiety or issues. I'd definitely run a tune because the 3.0 cars are no joke and I wouldn't want to run into a tuned one and make a RUclips video.
      ruclips.net/video/g8uu-p4IenI/видео.html
      Apparently the turbo S4 doesn't have the pull of the blower S4 on the highway, which defies logic, but here is a turbo S4. In the quarter the lighter 3.0 S4 doesn't seem to have an advantage over the A6.
      You can see how matching HP and TQ numbers doesn't tell the whole story.
