Since I was a little kid, I've said if I could have one wish, it'd be the ability to understand, speak, read, and write any language I come across fluently. I could use it to make a good living as a translator, talk to anyone, learn and teach, decode dead languages, travel the world, and reveal ancient history we've lost to time. That would be heavenly for me despite my being an anti-social, anxiety suffering goof. I love languages, but my memory is poor and I get frustrated easily due to mental health issues. I keep trying to dive back into Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, and ASL but my mental clarity and will to be patient seems to have bottomed out.

If you're interested, a good app for learning it is Intersign ASL. Both free and paid get all the lessons and paid gives access to little extras like games. They use clips of ASL teachers signing the words and sentences, acts a bit like most language apps but suited for ASL. It's nice.

Your brain stores everything you've ever experienced. The problem comes up in that its not so simple to connect what you know to what you can do. Sometimes, a serious brain injury can remove that limiter.

Why have we still not got a video of him IN China speaking with the locals 😫 he can afford and he’s been to other countries like India and some in Africa but still never China. China just makes the most sense.

Could you subtitle the English as well, Xiaoma? I'm sure it would be helpful for Ch->En learners, but it's also helpful for people with any specific needs.

The hardest language to master is actually not Mandarin, but German. Even 99 % of Germans haven't mastered it.

You should learn Brazilian Portuguese and then just go around talking to Brazilians. They're everywhere, and it would definitely be well-received bc they're super friendly!
