i'm glad you cleared up the confusion about whether you are a white or black american. I had been wondering about it for awhile but was too shy to ask 😂
That whole encounter in the restaurant filled me with such happy vibes. In Canada we're also friendly but when it comes to strangers we are very reserved and keep to ourselves - so you don't really have encounters like this in public with people you don't know. This is so amazing and makes me smile - I would kill for an encounter like this :)
Same in the UK. As kids we're programmed to not speak to strangers then as adults we're supposed to be outgoing and talk to strangers as much as possible.
Chris, your language acquisition skill is phenomenal. Your Vietnamese sounds like a native speaker. Same with Chinese. Very impressive since you learned in just a few months to a year.
Vietnamese has many regions, similar to Chinese dialects. The two kids are from the South. I’m from the middle; therefore, if he can understand my natural voice, he’s the master. The first time I ordered something from Sai Gon, people looked at me like I was speaking Chinese.😂😂😂
Is it weird that I cried? Haha. It’s just so nice to see when different people meet, have fun, enjoy each other’s company, have a drink, and a laugh. Thanks for sharing Chris. Shout out to Max too! I guess just eye candy is this video. Haha.
@aarons5689: Then you'd like vloggers visiting China. Watch: Two Mad Explorers, Alan & Shannon, Shev and Dev Blondie in China, Little Chinese Everywhere, The China Traveller, Sabbatical, Rafa Goes Around, Tales From Abroad,, There are many, many more.
This video surely did make me smile. It was packed with heartwarming interactions. The smiles; the laughter; the applauses; the free drinks; the 사랑해's; the flirting; the surprised/dumbfounded looks; the picture taking; the crash course in Korean; the compliments; I had so much fun watching this. That said, you ended the video on a sad note. It's ok, thouh. I had planned to rewatch the whole video, so it'll cheer me back up.
yup. i wish people would understand that. i live in sweden.. my country is being taken over... very sad because of that. so it's hard to be friends with such people who only mean to use you and take over your home (land)
Yeah, I wish people be friend with each other but they can make it work in their country, not leaving their country just to try to make money or take advance of other countries, but they can move to other country if they like the culture
Cảm ơn bạn rất nhiều, Chris! Bạn giúp mình cảm thấy có động lực hơn rất nhiều để học thêm nhiều thứ tiếng mới, để kết nối các quốc gia với nhau. God bless u😊
This, and most of your videos are just so wonderfully wholesome. You showing so many beautiful interactions with strangers of different cultures restores my hope for humanity a little bit every time. I truly cherish this in these troubled times of war, repression, polarisation and distrust. We have to remember that most people all around the world are good at heart. We are all in this together, and we must not let ourselves slip into an "us and them" mentality. Peace and love from Norway! 🕊❤
Pretty sure this is the first time I've seen you, But I love videos like xiaoman and ryan hale, so you fit right in that happy family lol. Great video, consider me your newest subscriber lol
Namaste From India! Max, you look very young for 31 brother! Chris, you have a wonderful language skills, I adore and get inspired by it. It used to be one of my favorite learning when young and have forgotten in the busy hectic routine. Thanks for the reminder! Keep growing young God bless you both!
Really love your vids! I love seeing how friendly people are and how you connect with them is so incredible! You look like you are living a very fulfilling life
I really Love this video of both of you just meeting everyone & making friends, having great conversations, enjoying great food and exploring! Keep up the great work!❤❤❤
You blow my mind, Chris, with all the languages you know. How do you learn so many, do you use videos, books, what's the secret? I loved this video. It😊 was very cool.
He likely discovered one of the ultimate ultimate secrets ways to learning languages the fastest for some Americans thats often not shared with most outsiders. There's like 5 different techniques that some guy told me helped them the most and at least 2 of the five requires the assistance of a native speaker thats either violent or beautiful. So far, I've only tried 2 out of the 5 that I've heard about, and I'm not really sure if its worked very much because I'm not very bright 😂
An exceptional linguistic talent with Russian roots expanding influence across the Asian continent. Definitely the best Hanoian accent from a westerner I have come across on YT to date and a joy to watch his public interactions. His fluency in speaking and reading/writing deserves praise, and his chinese and vietnamese is so impressive even the stranger offered to introduce his daughter.😊 There is another influencer of Russian heritage (checkout his viktor talking channel) living in Korea that is equally as impressive in chinese with native northeast accent and Korean so this trend may become the norm some day like Asians in the west.😮
I truly envy both of your language learning skills. I tried to learn Thai while staying in Thailand for 1 year. It was a massive fail. I was truly hoping to get the point that I could have genuine interactions like these with the locals. Maybe I'll give it another go. I'd love to see you jump onto the bandwagon of RUclipsrs traveling to China! With your language abilities, the interactions would be so much more interesting and genuine than the majority of RUclipsrs than can't speak Mandarin.
Surprised are fun 😂, hope you will get over 3m subscribers! Don’t know why a multi bilingual, fun, and nice gentleman like you don’t have over 3m ! Anyway Good luck guys, hope to run into y’all in Saigon or Hanoi sometime
Chris the reason why theyre asking if you're Russian is because of Victor (YT channel: VictorTalking) who also speaks chinese with a fluent Northern Chinese dialect/accent. He lives in Korea too. You and Victor are my favourite chinese speaking guys. Bless you brother
Wow your Chinese is great. I wish I can speak my own languages mixed with Vietnamese, Champa and grew up learning Arabic but forgotten everything, I only speak English and speak a few words of Chinese due to watching "Chinese drama" and leaning Korean by listening to the "Korean Drama", Please more videos like this its like an adventure with different people and languages!1 I love to watch their reaction of you speaking their native tongue.
..and,still on-going,because he knows it aren't mission completed, yet.Wants in parity with his Chinese and Vietnamese. What a linguist he's. Love it.Greetings from a Dane:) PS: I hope he learns the cool language of Nippon one day, too:)
This is my biggest dream to be able to speak chinese fluently and be in china to study..i am currently hsk 2 and I'll hopefully make my dream come true when i grow up if i work hard enough
I don't know why, but my Japanese Duolingo courses go by with much less thinking and a lot more understanding and memory when I'm watching another person so skilled with languages. So these videos, especially because you're so nice to people too, are both really entertaining and helpful for me to want to do more Duolingo (I even mute my phone to listen to the video, because my brain is on 99% on reading the Hiragana!.. then Katakana pops up and I crumble a bit) It's a dream of mine to learn languages such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Italian, and although Vietnamese is not a language I have much interest for, if I'm already learning 4 languages down the years, I could try pick it up too, it's such an unique language, harsh on my ears, but only in an unusual way, not a bad way :) I wish I could take courses so I could feel I'm "really" learning, and know how to study at home, like getting homework from my teacher. Tasks like that motivate me to get it done. But sadly it's not easy to find places like that here that are not too expensive for me here in Norway, especially close by :(
Bro though you were a spy at the chicken stand, he felt your stomach for recording device perhaps, maybe he was serious about being a member of the party
You are amazing. To learn and speak a language different from your own is such an advantage. People immediately warm up to you. Darn I only speak English, Hindi and Punjabi and was in such high demand for any job opportunity I pursued. Of course this was nearly two decades ago when every US airline and company were making inroads into India😄
What are you chris, I was already impressed by you when I saw your videos of speaking Urdu so well in Pakistan but you're literally next level. And I agree with the Chinese guy, even your Urdu words were standard text book type words.
i'm glad you cleared up the confusion about whether you are a white or black american. I had been wondering about it for awhile but was too shy to ask 😂
@allencoffland1685: More Americans who are "white" need to be asked that question. The real answer may surprise them. ; )
