- In today's video we're going to be looking for some delicious wonton, let's just say that the path of finding it hasn't been easy lol but in the end we succeeded! What's worth mentioning though is the fact that we've got some interesting reactions from the local workers throughout, soon as they realize that I'm speaking mandarin Chinese, hope you guys enjoy and thanks for watching!

This is the most accurate Chinese I've heard from anyone in a long time. The vast majority of Chinese people, even those from Beijing, don't bother to speak this accurately and politely. This by far surpasses anyone who has done these I surprise people with the fact that I speak Chinese videos.
The change in attitude and persona when one switches between English and Chinese gives me whiplash.

The maker of this video has far more demonstrated mastery, whether it be from his ability to use colloquial expressions or from his ability to be polite; he speaks better than natives. It's not comparable.

@@marcgreen-tu6bs Good question. Because it is more like an offering with both hands, and a formality. Another example is leaving payment on the table or handing it over if possible, which is more polite. I do it as a sign of gratitude to my Sifu.

So cool. We just have to remember "Jamaican" is not another way of saying "black", as Jamaicans can come in many races and ethnicities, although they are minorities.
@@maryamkim1281that is very true, as a Jamaican myself tho, seeing as we are predominantly black and majority of our roots are African, it is not seen as offensive that the default grouping at our mention is black.
To be honest, those of other ethnicities love to claim their Jamaican heritage but frown upon being identified as “black” even tho being Jamaican is essentially being creole, therefore you cannot claim to be anything but mixed with it. Jamaica has a very colourist society, and identifying with anything other than black is seen as beneficial in terms of social standing.
Not only does he speak the language, he portrays the body language and courtesies of the culture.

This is so awesome. I envy people who can speak 2 languages. I tried learning a different language once, but when it came to conjugating verbs, my brain turned to spaghetti and I gave up. Much respect to those who stuck with it.

If they could see your features beyond your brown skin, that would help. People are taught hate, fear, and stereotypes. Even your teeth are typical Chinese. You are a handsome young man. I know your mother is very proud of you.
But still, why does it have to be something "typical" Chinese about him? Are all chinese from the Qin dynasty? how many are there that came or were forced to go be born under Chinese rule(even Koreans, Japanese,Tibetans,Hong Kongers, Russian minorities in the North) or even worse as slaves and are now born and bred Chinese? Like seriously it's THE US at the end of the day, how can there still be hate and stereotypes?

It's like a warm hug when you speak to people in their native language, just look at how quickly each person switched to mandarin once they realized he was able to understand. This makes me want to take my language learning more seriously, but it is a blessing when you grow up around it, so it comes more naturally.
