My Turkish friend Efkan invited me out to Turkey to hang out and get some, err, self-care, but he also wanted to test my Turkish out on the locals. Would I crash and burn, or actually impress them? Make sure to go to yourteacher.ai/ if you want to get unlimited speaking practice without the awkwardness of human interaction in one of 25 different languages including Turkish! Hi
You are awesome!
Hey Xiaoma! Last week I was wondering when you would make videos in Turkey and now, I am so happy that you visited here man !!!
Also I am sure that your Turkish content will get a LOT of views if you spend more time in the streets & try out some food.
We as Turkish people are really enthusiastic when it comes to seeing foreigners explore the country, which is just like having your friend watch your favorite movie and seeing their reaction! 😁I'd love to show you around in Istanbul!!
Hey you should try goin to the hoods down south andnspesk the lingo there
I just downloaded to practice French and I'm very impressed!
Shoutout to the brother who bought Xioma the juice. Bro is such a nice person. All the goodness in the world to him.
If a random brother or sister wanted a drink and didn’t have enough, I wouldn’t hesitate to help ❤
Bro is like the Turkish Reynor that's a trip lmao.
There’s a lot of hospitable ppl in Turkey but there’s also a lot of finessers. u can tell who’s genuine and who’s not
that dude seemed star struck. put a smile on my face watching it
Aha bless him, dude was proper hyperventilating for a sec 😂
Turkey is a wildly underrated country. Easily in my top 5 countries i have ever been. Beautiful
ME TOO, Hi from Canada..
I worked a lot with Turks. They were always so friendly and vibrant with me. Real dad energy. Never had that growing up but very fond of Turkish people because of it, twenty years later. Lol
They will take the clothes of your back given the chance
All cultures have pro's and con's. That same warm and outgoing attitude can also be very exhausting when you just wanna mind your own business and go about your day. It's like you're expected to engage with every single person you pass on the street. On those days, i would rather be in a country like sweden, or germany, where everyone is in their own little bubble XD

And that’s why I learned Turkish, because everyone is brilliant and very hospitable. Since learning Turkish and being able to connect further, I’m always itching to go back and experience more of this beautiful and welcoming nation, and the freebies once they realise you’re developing a love for their culture.
we gotta be friends
Vayyy kardeş, it's fun but like puzzle at the same time, sometimes u cannot find the word to finish the last word
Because the love passes through the stomach :)) Thats why Turkish woman constantly feed their husbands:D
I do feel the same but the language is very hard :( I really struggle...
I went in September and was doing Duolingo there non stop and actually learned about 80 words I was more shocked than anyone.
But I’ve stopped practicing and it’s nearly all gone now…….must try harder 😆
Turkish is an amazing language. My father is the US Ambassador to Türkiye. Such incredible people. Istanbul and Ankara are never what most expect.
Are you Jeff Flake’s son. 😅🤙🏻 Thanks for your kind words buddy
I think it is him 🙄😅👍, you are well informed 💯
As Turks, we would like to say the same thing about U.S. but your government is run by the Jewish and Armenian lobby. Not only don't give us the F-35s, but also impose sanctions. Fortunately, we owe you a lot as Turkey. If it were not for your sanctions, we would never have been able to fly our 5th generation fighter jet KAAN, which successfully completed its test flight last month. Thank you for the motivation.
Are there any French influences in the language? I think I hear French sometimes.
@@jujutrini8412 the best two explanations are boring enough. French arrives to nearly all languages where global diplomacy has been focused upon over the last dozen centuries. Also, French is an incredibly common second language in just about all of Europe.
The guy at the corn stall, knows dangerous people that help those that are foreign. He was being very kind offering you if you have issues with anyone that he would help you. Very kind to see that kind of love and respect abroad.
Just speculating here, if the corn guy knows dangerous people, he might tie you with bad people. People in gangs always want something in return
He seemed so nice and concerned that Xiaoma would be taken advantage of. They took group photos, that guy wasn't in a gang.
I loved the guys at the end and the Turkish brother that noticed you first!
If I ever saw xiaoma in person. I’d ask to hug him lol. 😂
Many happy tears and INSPIRATION has happened because of this man.
#LongLiveLaoshuuuuuu!!!
Yea after he saw Xiaoma has more than 6 Mio subs then he's offering that to him. Know a lot of people who did that too because they might think they get a chance to pick the right one to grow bigger income. It's like girls hearing that one guy in the room has the best income that act differently...
Utter nonsense
As children in the 1980's my mum would not let us utter a single word of english in our turkish household. We used to envy how our cousins and our friends could freely speak English at home to their parents. Decades later they are unable to string two words of turkish together because they never learned and now they envy my mum for not allowing us speak english at home. Mum knew that we would learn at school and the importance of knowing your mother tongue.

As a Turkish person I think this is one of the cultural differences we have with the west. In Turkiye, if you try to speak Turkish no matter how poor your Turkish is, people will find it sympathetic and will try to help you. But for instance in France, if your french is poor, people dont like to hear it and they are like they want you to stop trying and continue in english.

The Chestnut is one of the few universal foods. DNA evidence suggests they possibly originated somewhere in Asia (we don't really know where precisely) about 56 million years ago, and have spread to pretty much every continent except for Oceania long before humans. So pretty much people have been roasting and eating chestnuts way before we have archaeological records for. There are small variations between American, European, and Chinese varieties, but they mostly all taste very similar. Plus you can get them in most grocery stores (both raw in shell, and precooked in cans & snack pouches)
the chestnuts in Turkiye are known as Italian chestnuts in the U.S. Kind of smaller in size and tastier compared to the Asian / Chinese ones, which are bigger and has literally a bland taste.
