It was a annual trip to the Sny off of the Illinois River in southern Illinois. We fished the same way along the brush banks. It was always a treat to have a Crappie feed. Love the videos...
Man I love fishing with older people it's getting harder for me cause im 47 lol but man u can learn so much keep your mouth shut and your eyes and ears open what I do..man I've been crappie fishing all my life they change like the wind blows that's another reason. I love chasing them its always a challenge trying to figure them out 👍
I pulled a crappie off a nest one day that was big as a 12 inch pancake. I though he was a bass looking down at him but when i pulled him out he was tall as hell. Had to 4 pounds which is huge for an Ohio lake white crappie. i pulled that fish out three times before I actually caught him. i was on a steep bank with no net and pretty much yanking him straight to the bank. I couldn't keep a hold of the slimy thing. any way I was so impressed that mercy set in and i let him go.
@@daiserbeams_adventures7486 hell yeah. I am debating on a bow fish video. I don't know if it would do that well on here. I love to bow fish but I try to make videos that would get the most views
@@OutsidetheLevees do a combo video? I would watch it all, the editing and content has been honest and humble man. It feels real and refreshing to not be watching someone sponsored by every company and being stingy with information to newcomers!
I seared it then cooked it down slow for a while in a cream sauce. We ate it over pasta. Check out "court bouillon" recipes. That's a good way to use them.
what mr murphy doesnt realize is most fish dont spawn shallow, alot of little males go build nesta along the banks, hoping to get in on the action, but the mature females and males spawn deeper. I took me 15 years to learn this.. also, water temp doesnt matter, its the right water color, that is nutrient rich, not too clear,. not to muddy.
He releases them based on size. I guess the theory is that the smaller ones spawn as well and have more life cycles left. I do know that if just one fish is successful in spawning, based on the amount of fry, it could repopulate that whole canal.
@@OutsidetheLevees exactly..they are a fast growing, fast reproducing fish..the average life span is 2- 3 years..one female usually has an average of 140,000 eggs in her at one time..

Thank you brother. I will get back on the crappie videos soon.
Those Gaspergous we call Sheephead here in Ohio. Not many people keep those when caught, we toss them right back in the water.
I seared it then cooked it down slow for a while in a cream sauce. We ate it over pasta. Check out "court bouillon" recipes. That's a good way to use them.
Thanks for the tips.

Where was this filmed, Henderson??
Somewhere around there Im not sure
Maybe they already nested before the water came up? Makes sense to me.
Most had eggs. Someone on this thread was explaining that they actually do spawn in deeper water.
Great video! Where is this?
Atchafalaya basin
ouuu podna if you aint fried no fresh choupique you gotta try that. fresh though, they aint no good frozen. The meat gets mushy.
Might have to do a video on them
When the meat get mushy that’s when you make choupique balls

What kind of reel were you using? I'd love to try it.
Thank you
Stay Safe!
Hey bud, thanks for watching. Please subscribe if you can. So there a few sizes of the reels but here they are: www.slatersjigs.com/crappie-reels/
Is "gaspergoo" the same as "buffalo"
No. A goo is a freshwater drum. A buffalo is a type of carp.
Man what kind of reel is that
Just a very basic crappie reel I don’t remember what they called but you can find them easy
Gaspergou, catfish, speckle trout, poisson rouge la Louisiane est le paradis de la pêche!
They biting good on RUclips
I wanna know who makes that boat
It's a custom boat from Southwest Louisiana that was built in the 90's. If you really want one I could see who did it.
It's won you can fish out of for sure
It will take you some time to get going there just keep chugging at it and you will get it going good content 👍😉
Thank you brother. I will keep making them
Definitely productive but I would be so frustrated fighting those limbs all day
No risk it, no biscuit lol
What Kind Of Gloves Is He Wearing
I will have to ask him.
The kind you wear over your fingers 😉😅😂🤣😁
@@jamesrene7509 hahahahaha
Where this at
Just South of Henderson LA.
No..it's when you hold up a white sac-a-lait..it looks like your holding up a sack of milk..it has nothing to do with the meat..
Ah I gotcha. Thanks man.
Does Mr. Murphy sell his jigs?
He does not.
Hell i thought that was richard gene....
I had to look him up. Def see the resemblance lol. Please subscribe if you can. We have plenty more coming!

I figured they were. Seems like they get a bad rep. We are gonna do a video on that sometime in the future.
Would Mr. Murphy build me a few rods?
Man last time I asked him he said he doesn't really do it anymore for other people
Cause he’s over 60
Amen to that. He’s retired and fishes like 4-5 days a week.
We call them dog fish.
Interesting
Crappie too small compared with I got in Lake of Somerville in Texas.
Ok dude.
