LOVE me some sac-a-lait, haven't had any in a while, keep the vids coming, love em all, tell the Mrs. don't be so shy she's a great addition to the channel. Keep up the good work. Will be praying for your .success, Can't wait for the next one. PS. I will try that recipe soon.
Take your crappie catching to the next level and go to BFS so much more sensitive and much more accurate jigs placement and just a blast my friend you’ll love it
Great video Todd. Crappie fishing is my favorite and eating them is my favorite also ! I'll have to try your recipe ! A cooking tip for you, when adding the tallow to the pan as it sticks to the spoon, place the backside of the spoon against the onside bottom of the hot pan and wait for the spoon to heat just enough for the tallow to melt and release from the spoon instead if banging the spoon on the edge of the skillet. Just a suggestion !
I wonder if they hit the bait that hard because it’s feeding, or because it just can’t stand something near its bedding area? I find I’ll catch bigger fish with this tight line method. When I’m sure I’m around fish i’ll upsize and throw the 3.5” keitech swing impact(electric shad) with belly weighted screw lock hook. It weeds out the smaller sacalait and catches bass just as easy. They try to rip the rod out your hands
There are three rivers in this area. You can launch at the end of East 4th Ave (which is off South Jahncke Ave. It gives you access to all three rivers. It's a decent free launch. There are three boat ramps. Use the one in the middle......... trust me!
When can I come down and show you a different way to fish for them that is a LOT more fun and can be more productive? I want to start a channel as well so I'd love to connect!
@@MarshManMasson my wife won’t go with me as she does’t want her makeup to get ruined…..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I took her to break in the motor on my grizzly…..she got some spray in her face and told me she would never go with me again. 😂😂😂😂 tight lines ole boy. 👍🇺🇸
@@MarshManMassonI'm not so familiar with those areas. I'll probably never fish there but I wasn't sure if y'all had an understanding or if it was public. Looks like a peaceful place to go.
I would have added some Tony's to the sauce to give some KICK. Simple dish that taste good. I like it! To Mrs Marsh Man Masson, I love your husband videos.
The US is is taking a deep dive into the the Chinese Sewer lagoons , where most seafood is bought for consumption in the US , while the US taxpayers spend $ Billions to "regulate " our seafood production which is shipped to SE Asia like Japan and China South Korea . While US eats farmed seafood from seweage lagoons in VietNam and China. TALAPIA IS NOT Seafood Tilapia in the wild eat Mosquito Larcae in fresh water. 😮😮😮
Crappie can be caught as your style of fishing in deep water. Lots of Cypress tree fishing has an up-close fishing method. The key is to keep the bait ABOVE the target. ruclips.net/video/KHj-JE-0928/видео.html
Mrs Marshman did great! I understand not wanting to be on camera thanks for joining today!
Thumbs up to Mrs.MarshMan for just putting up with you! Love catch n cooks but they're best in the field....

I totally agree with you about the cork fishing. I’d rather cast a jig any day, even if not as many fish.
My boats been down since November, been itching to hit that river again can’t miss the sac au lait run this year!
Wheat is the name of that place he’s fishing
Too early to be making us this hungry. Great video!

Yeah, I've tried that but it takes longer than I expected it to. I generally get impatient and just bang the spoon lol
Gonna try out these slab hunter minnow’s tomorrow
Do you use the death grip jig heads I like them for crappie as well as salt
I generally do but couldn't put my hands on them for this trip.
With those conditions at this time of the year with the weekend full moon I could not pass up bass fishing
What landing are you using I love fishing that kind of water with the cypress trees and that black water it's awesome
There are launches all up and down the river. I launched in Covington.
Soon as you said the word sacalait and not crappie I subscribed lol..
I’m also a south Louisiana outdoorsman..
Got a good rice recipe for the Insta pot?
Man love to see those sac au lait !! Do you have to keep the Tallow refrigerated? Tasty looking dish!! Kelly
No, I store it on the counter.

Nice!!
The small males always come in first when the water is cold like it is.
Todd where do you get the Tallo? Rouse's?
I order it online. It's not cheap, but is worth every penny.
Awesome video

Do the residents on those canals get upset when you fish back there?
Not to my knowledge. It's public water.

Nice fish, your title is misleading. Should have been “Casting jigs “
