- Sweden-based boat company Candela is working to bring electric ferries to the Bay Area.
Renderings show a futuristic-looking, 40-foot catamaran that they say will be able to hold up to 30 people and take half the time to get from Sausalito to San Francisco. abc7ne.ws/3pQrzBG
why is their project manager 14 years old
Hydrofoils are so cool!
Next week: homeless man poops on a electric ferry
Finally the ferries getting some upgrades hopefully a better schedule
The waterways are a much better place for Autonomous transport than the roadways. There is low traffic on the water and most people aren't very good at piloting boats. An autonomous fleet of such ferries could make the transit within SF Bay much more efficient, picking and dropping off people from any dock.
True, but you also have to consider safety. If something happens in the water, you're going to have to have someone who knows what to do.
I’m down for things going “green” but if I’m not able to experience being outside while on the ferry than I don’t want it , this new ferry design looks totally enclosed … that’s a 💩💩💩 design for a boat
Yeah cause that’s the problem that needs solving 😂😂😂
Who cares? We have plenty of gas.
Better test this extensively for overturning during high winds
California doesn’t have enrich electricity. Just another thing that will break when the winds shut down the power lines
They are called hydrofoils. Not boats that float above the water.😳
Hydrofoils are boats that float above the water. 😳
@DemPilafian it's what they do not what they are😳
@@irishandsaxonmutt9670 What's on second.
@@DemPilafian who's on first.
I don’t know… THIRD BASE!
I love innovation
Twice the price, half the efficiency. The San Francisco way.
