The following video is a compilation of past videos and our dedication to do the people's work, bringing historical content in the context in which the viewer can decide which stories are most believable. The many videos of stories told from the OG's who created it, lived, and remember it are often very similar with slight twists and sometimes a little exaggeration.
This video highlights moments such as the "cribs vs crips" debate, where the name crips derive, and if Raymond Washington was a "Baby Avenue" or just a "wanna be." Its simple and plain to see that Kev Mac Videos has compiled a library of both facts and historic information that could only be achieved by our hard work and consistency in pursuit of the truth regarding Los Angeles black gang history. No better place to get it than the horses mouth.
Never before has anyone put together a video like this on the history of the Crips. With Ex Gangsters such as Craig Monson, Jimmy Lavender, Big Houncho, Elgin Trammel, OG Moon, Bird of Slausons, Hawk Eye, and King Bobalouie capture the essence of black gang culture in Los Angeles in the 1960s. The names alone separate this platform from all the others.
In viewing this video there may still be some small uncertainties but no secrets as to why viewers say things such as, "this needs to be on the History Channel, CNN, Netflix, and taught in History Classes." We appreciate your participation and thank you all for watching. Don't forget to like the video, subscribe and share. As the Professor Melly Mel would say, "where content is King!"

I agree if you can get with Big U some kind of way to put together a series or a movie it would be amazing think about it this is history i mean they had gang movies such as colors and redemption with jamie fox but i always felt like those movies were missing something especially the one with Tookie…
I definitely agree with a series based these videos. Link up with writer Walter Mosley and it would be a great show.
Why i be singing Kev Mac intro randomly throughout the day sometimes 😂

I went to Washington with the Crips when Raymond and Tookie joined forces at the theater on Westen and Umperial in 1970. They were called the Crips then, not Cribs. Those dudes that did the killing at the Palaidum in 1972 all went to Washington. Cops are at the school the next day and arrested Conrad, Bub, and a few others who are still alive, so I won't mention their names. They beat the dude over his leather coat, and his father was a famous and politically connected black attorney. The kid went to Dorsey High, This was in 1972 and when we went to play sports at Dorsey that year, there were lots of cops around.
Bruh YOU should talk to Kev Mac.
They didn't kill Robert Belau Jr. It was Mac Thomas that killed him..
Damn Kev gotta interview you bc Il u have so many facts
The name of the theater at Western Ave and Imperial was called the Rio Theater. Security was provided by members of the Black Karate Federation (BKF), whose studio was located at Western Ave and 103rd St. Crips never caused any trouble at the Rio out of respect for the BKF. Many of the BKF members also attended Washington High School, home of many of the Westside Crips. Some members of the Westside Crips would even come to the BKF studio and watch the karate practices. They never caused any problems with or at the BKF.
Ac Moises been speaking the truth
This is officially one my favorites. I like the intro and how Kev Mac made it where it's important to research everything. This along with Munsons stories brought some light to Raymond Washington
The origins of every gang has conflicting stories. It's actually quite interesting.
kev on a new level of documentaries. I didnt realize that i missed a few of these interviews. Since im evacuated ill sit back and watch them
Your Legacy is engraved into the world now. You are the Mecca of all Crip and Blood knowledge. You display the clear facts. As a Outta Towner Loc, I must say I was guided proper on how to Crip correctly, and I appreciate you for confirming that via your display of regarding this "Thing of ours". Thank You Big Homie...

Big Kev that was very massive homie. I remember waiting on every last one of those videos just to get a better overstanding of the movement. Now here it is put together in a format that answer that even the slowest mind should overstand. SOIL💎💎💎💎💎!!!Big Kev you right FAM. FUCC ERRORS.
A must see KMV aka You can’t miss this.
The lion, the Legend and the Grand Organizer Mr. Raymond Washington, your peers have spoken and Solidified your Legacy. I’ll say this, Raymond had a Hellofa Reputation and due to the lack of Older Brothers to guide the youth of South Los Angeles, needless to say that Raymond did his thing and this is how the Legendary Crips started. Along with other prominent members who established their own reputations and founded their own Hoods. I do love how all of these different man tell their own story and weather they’re lying are not(mostly the truth) you can see how all the dots fit together.
Great video once again and like l said l was gonna tap in as soon as l got to the Crib.
(Pun intended)
Well worth the wait and thank you to all of the OOOGs, OOGs and OGs who took their time to contribute to the KMV Platform.
Thank you Big Kev!!

Been working alot of overtime for past six months. Kev Mac yo cuh I'ma bout to binge watch everything. Bc I know I've missed out on some gems and some real history from the legends and generals. Thanks for your hard work that's unprecedented on the history of the Crip Gangs and the history of the hood.
Thank you for putting this together been following you for a while wasn't raised around gang's I'm thankful but this is a part of America history and needs to be told
That was good. I remember a lot of those interviews. Good editing putting all that together.
The one thing that stuck out to me was that Munson said Raymond was a "Baby Avenue" or least down with the crew of so called "Baby Avenues". The presentation was very professional . Good job KMV.
Very well edited. Real break down of pertinent information. Education is key in everything. "We have to educate the young ones" .. I respect ya platform.. You utilizing it wisley. ✊🏽

Thanx.
Looking forward to seeing this. You are truly the one person that can put this together. You have interviewed the person the reason he started the Crips ( Craig Monsoon ), to the person that was there when the gang started ( A.C. ), and many others that was there. Out of everything I've seen on here about Raymond, I think yours will be the most authentic and entertaining. Thanks for everything you've done so far. P.s. I would love to see Hawk again. He's definitely was one of my top 5. He had a lot of knowledge and a lot of his stories verified and was verified by some of the other O.G."s. Thanks again.
Masterpiece homie! Good job my man! Kevmac doing his thing! 💪🏽
Say bra!! I'm glad you've brought the history to the forefront, because out of towners that banged these sets had the history misconstrued.
Alot of original sets in other states and cities turned Blood & Crip due to family relation or out of LA cats running drugs thru their towns, but sum original sets stayed firm and never switched over. People never really knew wtf they were banging, they just thought it was kool and it came out the bigger city where movies and Hollywood was at.
Now as grown men, we got sum clarity on how this all got started. This is much needed being that alot of brothas lost their life whether in LA or other regions of the U.S.
Kev Mac you deserve sum type of award or something for letting the world know the facts and hear it come from the O.G's who were there!!
👍👊✌
Kev Mac don’t support out of Towners banging LA gangs dummie, you don’t be paying attention!!!
It's a lot of things we do to ourselves, as Black ppl. We can't blame the white man for. That was some CHURCH right there!!! ✅
Facts!!!
Absolutely
Regardless of the negative things this is black History.
Kev Mac awesome job bro!!! Bigger things are coming your way!! Keep it going!!! 👍👍✊✊
Any and all information about the Man Raymond Washington will be classic. To me there aren’t many stories about him unless you know someone who was around him or an Original Crip. I’m looking forward to another OMV Crip History Lesson and Class starts soon.
Good lookin out Big Kev Mac!!

🗣This compilation was FIRE beloved✊🏽
I learn in college the problem with communicating are the following. You have accent, age, dialect, noise,an bad hearing. That can cause all the confusion on what we hear.Example: Back in the day younger kids would say “my bad” but the older people would think we were saying “my bag.” That could be the reason why some say crib an some say crip.No body is telling a lie on purpose that’s just what they thought they heard.Good work Kev Mac for studying us black folks culture an giving us the real.
That sounds about right.
Way back in the 80s my neighbors older brother would always say "no worries" when thanked for something. I always thought he was saying "no words" as in "don't mention it". I was grown before I actually started hearing it again and realized what he was originally saying.
Game, Set , Match! Checkmate! @Kev Mac is a Historian for real!
lol
Good story.appreciate the content.bringing it all together like a puzzle.
Kev Mac the goat !!! 💯💙
If they make any historic gang movies without Kev as executive producer or head writer . Then we Bullshit as a black community. We can’t let them make nomore movies in no sections without our historians getting a CHECK fuck recognition . Keep it rollin Kev 💪🏿
Well done piecing this montage together KM 👏. To hear from all the originals who were there in the beginning is so cool. So it seems the consensus is that it was always C-R-I-P-S, not Cribs. However, when the Crips were first starting out, probably some ppl back then thought it was pronounced Cribs and that's most likely where the confusion comes from...both names back in the day were being thrown around. But at its inception it was always CRIPS
Especially when tied to the idea of being a “Baby Crip” -- easy to make that connection.
Kev Mac your the GOAT about the gang content. Salute OG

The knowledge and history of this work Mac put in is crazy and so real
Interesting thing regarding the name Crips vs. Cribs there's a Great Hit show called Quincy with Jack Klugman as a Medical Examiner. One of the shows during the 1st Season is with a guy that gets beat up and killed by a member of a gang that's called The Cribs! The Episode Called "Crib Job"! 3rd Season episode #13. From my research this is the 1st time that the name Crib or Crip was used on a TV, or Movie ( I believe) Show.
Respect!
That show is as boring as watching fucking paint dry
@@troubleman3837 Yeah, and my younger brother thinks that the video we're watching here is boring as well. The show is a drama about the 1st Los Angeles Medical Examiner. I respect your opinion though. Keep in mind that it was shot during a different time (being 1976-77). I recently watched Movie Redemption The Tookie Williams Story for the 3rd time. I think that it's a Damn good Movie! Again, not an Action Movie it's a Drama. Now my younger brother who is 27 (I'm 55) He doesn't get it he said this is boring as hell. He also laughs at the fact that guys in the Movie was shooting 38's 32's, & Saturday Night Specials, etc. He made a statement that they shooting Pea Shooters! Young-one don't understand we all had to start-off at a certain point. We learned to crawl before we learned to walk, then run. I realize that I'm off on a tangent. But the main point that I wanted to make is the episode on the show used the term Cribs versus Crips!! Sorry you may have lost 44 minutes of your life Bro. LoL
Cribs may have been the misspelling to crips, that's one that seems to comes up in the reflection vague to sometimes

@ KEV Mac .. GREAT BODY OF WORK .. YOU GOT ALOT OF VALUABLE CONTENT ..
Kev Mac, thank you for this. The younger homeboys need to get this. Maybe shit can change just a little between the sets on blue team trippin and black men as a whole. Blessings bro.
