Its AMAZING how the streets operate. R.I.P. Monster (An assault as a kid (Robbed of his dime at school) programmed a Street General) R.I.P. Raymond (A backhand from Monson created a Worldwide sea of Blue) Adversity creates Adversaries unwillingly.
This comment is straight facts. I want to add something else to your comment. When I was in elementary school the dark skin girls gave the light skin girls hell. In middle school the dark skin girls reign supreme still giving the light skin girls hell beating them up left and right but when we entered HighSchool the tides changed because the light skin black girls fought so much through elementary and middle school until when we reached HighSchool they were seasoned fighters and they started giving the dark skin girls hell. I witnessed it up close. I wonder did that social dynamic happen at any other schools. The dark skin vs dark skin has always been a negative eyesore in black communities and still is today but the dynamics I’m speaking on is the fighting part.
This Kings stories are amazing. Little things like the movie Cool Hand Luke, love that flick. I’m 52, so the Crips just took off. I remember when this light skin brother was walking down Firestone Blvd in Bishops hood and he yelled Cuh Riiiip! My sister said that’s a Crip. I’m 4 at the time 1973. First Crip I met personally was this brother named G dog(Greg) from 1st East Coast Crip from Aliso projects in Boyle Heights. He was like 10 yrs old, I was like 5-6 yrs young. Ran into him again when I was like 21, he was a rider 4 real.
Definitely. The real story is always quite simple and not as sexy as the legend that evolves over time. This all goes to show that the Crips weren't influenced by the Panthers, nor were they ever political in nature. It was all started by the bruised ego and determination of a young man named Raymond Washington. Just a tough kid that wanted to start the toughest gang.... It's just too bad it devolved into what it did...
Y'all better embrace Craig Monson and give him his flowers.

They going to need more than three episodes for this cause the man has a lot to say.
I used to see him at Pearls when i was little... dude was huge
Can't wait to see the old-school back yard weights ,been wanting to see that for years
They are restoring the weights and weight bench and the yard under construction so Monson didn't want me to film any of that.
My Pop's went to Drew with Big OOOG Craig and to Fremont. Same name is mines. Ask him about the Deacons in Watts and Bonehead the President!!!

Close your eyes when Moon talking, you would think that's OG Cutes
I had the same thoughts. I heard OG Cutes too
The Crips were started by a back-handed pimp-slap. Big Monson pimp-slapped the Crips into existence. Who knew?...LMAOO...
Good one 😂
The Big Bang
God has truly blessed you Craig. I was Born and raised in Los Angeles CA. I remember the names, places, and dates very well. You look fantastic Craig.
Kev Mac does it again this is history at its finest
My favorite mf channel. I watch a kev Mac video every night when I get off💯💯 THIS SHIT LEGENDARY
Had to double back and say I’m currently watching “Cool Hand Luke” because of this interview…
"what we have here..is a failure to communicate...that's the way he wants it"...😆 Good flick.
@@coryarnold3369 I never watched the full movie. The only scene I remember as a kid is the egg eating competition
Netflix needs to quit playing and cut that check to Kev Mac & Baby S(Swole) Mac.
I don’t know why I was laughing on the part when he got hit with the car jack. I guess the way he played it out 😂😂😂
Love hearing these old war stories they really got down.

@@larose6551 I get sick of that shit.
Its AMAZING how the streets operate. R.I.P. Monster (An assault as a kid (Robbed of his dime at school) programmed a Street General) R.I.P. Raymond (A backhand from Monson created a Worldwide sea of Blue)
Adversity creates Adversaries unwillingly.
That is true
Dark skin vs light skin*
@@shottashabazz6721 yes, but now light skin girls are worshipped and reign supreme. They don't have to fight anymore, everyone will fight for them.

This sound like the realest story about how it started and where the name came from
I don't believe he asked Raymond what he was gonna call his gang .. I smell a little extras.. Great to hear his story. Great interview overall
I believe Raymond Washington must’ve been impersonating Victor Adam walk long before the Crips Started
Damn Red Devils my dad era lol my father was born 1949 but had me in 1990 I have a very old soul
