What kind of camera was this recorded on
bro this whole commercial screams 90s
they did that kind of thing back then
thank you . There is a photo that i'm looking for : it's Kevin and Porter Cottrel both on stage , i think Porter is posing and Kevin is lying on the floor in front of him .

I love his conditioning here: it's not show-level; it's offseason but it's incredibly smooth and toned. he looks huge but not soft, just incredibly buff.
This legend should have one very much more. I always thought he had the best all around physique.
@@YetAnotherRetardedYTUpdate how is it taking it too far. no one wants to see bodybuilders off season on stage. looks like shit
So smooth 😅
@@colinbradfield72 this is actually a good sum-up of his physique.
That close grip bench is nuts. He made it look so easy
Hate to say it he was doing it wrong.
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 How is he doing it wrong?
bro was reppin my deadlift pr for triceps
@@td601 well when doing this exercise you wanna make sure wrist and elbows are aligned with each other. Also unlike traditional bench press bringing it down to the chest instead bring it down to the stomach instead
@@johnnygunzfilmbuff7821 No need to do that homie. The way he does it resembles a diamond push up if anything. Different ways to do it. I do my close grip like you described but this works too.
Kevin had an "aesthetic, but beastly" physique. It might not make sense but for me he was simultaneously Herculean and Apollonian - a feat not many, if any could say about themselves. Also, he was a genetic marvel training only for show day and having a relatively normal look in the offseason far from his next show. Then "shaboooom!" he buffed up like crazy.
Had he had Dorian's mentality he would have dominated the sport 100%. No weak bodypart on the guy earlier in his career (like 93-94, he was super complete, but not the best anywhere except for shoulders and maybe tricep)
Late 80's to 90's gym attire was absolutely ridiculous.
I like the 60's and 70's shirts 👕 👌
Yeah, and I can't believe I actually wore that stuff.
You think that is ridiculous, you should have seen how bad some of our supplements were....haha...Somehow Bodybuilding was more of an "in" thing. though. some dudes would show up to the bar dressed like that if you can believe it.
@@algrundau9441 that's too funny lol
@@algrundau9441 I remember seeing bodybuilders going to the bar and drinking wearing tank tops
I actually met Kevin in the airport around 2012..cool as hell and down to earth. At that time he was "normal" size and I think he was more focused on acting than making a comeback.
These oldschool bodybuilding clothes😁

You know kevin is cringing watching himself in this video!!
I was cringing, lol
All actors hate watching themselves perform. These are scripted corny lines and a fictional character.

No he's not. He prob think he looks like a bad ass! LOLOL I mean who does that though. Even in 91 that shit wasn't cool.
probably not, just playing a character lol

Hell yeah! This is why he’s my favorite bodybuilder. No BS, no gimmicks, just truth.
Hell yea man.
Yea too many people spend to much time on machines and doing the wrong exercises for arms.

Also obscene amounts of gear 😂
This is shockingly decent routine. As good of an exercise selection as it gets
Ok casual

America was a different place back then. I sure do miss those days.
JUST POSTED - 1992 Rare Kevin Levrone Video ruclips.net/video/1y3uxfbNSPA/видео.html
gonzojed1 Why do they call it America like the U.S is the entire continent? It's called United States
Much of it is because of that old song, "America the Beautiful" that's been sung at so many different places every year with big crowds. If not for that song you would mainly hear The United States or U.S. (Could be wrong but I think that is what got it stuck in people's heads.)
Mygunsgoboom easy, cowboy.
leon incorrect, it's the United States of AMERICA. No assumptions, just fact! :)
The lunk alarm went off approx 26 times in the last minute of this video...gotta love the 90's. Background music from "Saved by the Bell" just adds to the character of this clip.
28 years passed, and he is still big as fuck, what a beast
1991 was 11 in middle school, 1993 UFC started, discovered all these since 2001 despite there were magazines but too expensive for me at that time. Nice to see where the level were at the time we were thinking-believe, fool and ignorant. Kevin Levrone is one of the most inspirational athlete. We love you Kevin, God bless you and keep you in both health and shape.

what are you conveying in your comment ??
@@b-bopeddie1290 only those who could afford magazines and video tape could know what was going on in bodybuilding. Should precise I grew up in France, fitness and bodybuilding were not that popular as boxing kung-fu and karate were. Thanks to Rocky, Bruce Lee and Jackie. In spite of Arnold, we looked upon him more about a success story; a successful actor. Pumping Iron was considered a movie among many, but not the seed of what made him who he became.
I was born in Nov 1991. lol

And when hes done, there is only 1 plate.

04:17 Mike Mattarazzo. Always a favourite of mine in the old 90's mags like 'Flex', 'Ironman' and 'Muscle & Fitness'. Always had killer calves and arms. RIP, big Mike...
I always liked Mike a lot too. One of the best personalities in bodybuilding. Nice, Funny & always cheerful/positive by all the footage I've seen.
Agreed. Was kinda sad to see that video of him saying he didn't want to 'be that guy who dies in his 40's because of the abuse he put his body through' then actually dying shortly after.
Yea; just went and watched it again. He got almost 10 years of life after a major heart attack. Here's a link after his heart attack. His heart was only working at 20%. Pretty sad but an interesting listen too. Some are much more receptive to heart disease from PED's & he unfortunately was one of them. Plus he said he ate pounds of red meat for years to keep all that muscle. That played a big role also.

Goddammit I miss the 90s 😭
Thats a good way to add mass in your triceps. Nicely done bro, good form, heavy weight. And also a good nutrition.
I can only imagine what would Kevin be if he trained legs his entire career and wasnt making big breaks going around his band, drinking, partying etc I think that he has 1% genetic and one of my personal favourite phisique ever.
I don't think he would have been too different. He knew his body and did what worked for him. Like you said, 1% genetics, probably even more rare. The only pro I think that took offseasons completely off and grew into shows.
@@wigletron2846 True that, even biceps, he was like I didnt like to do that :), I mean 4 time runner up at the Olympia is peoples champ for sure
Wow that actually taught me how to do it. I have to adapt my routine to it
Rumour has it Box 40 is still dealing with all those video tapes.
“No machines” as he’s doing cable pushdowns 😂
Exactly! None!
I tapes this from American Muscle in 1991, when I was home for Christmas break. I still have that tape on the shelf in my living room.
These were the Glory days! Levrone makes it look so easy!
This is the most awesome thing I've seen in a while 😂
Hi Shawn; I'm glad you liked it. This one gets quite a few negative comments but maybe not realize Kevin is most likely being directed to act a little more WWE style than his actual personality. I like it too & appreciate it for what it is. It's Kevin but Kevin acting turned up to 9 or 10. Thx 4 watching & the positive comment ...KC
it is funny to watch him acting cocky when you know how gentle he really is
Many negative comments. I actually used to train with him during that era. It was exciting and entertaining for Maryland to have the attention, and he drew so many people around him. Be more positive and see things differently...and your lives will be so much better.
wow that's amazing! I used to like the 70's bodybuilding more, but not i'm becoming a bigger fan of the 90's. Great amount of mass and still small waistes.
Wow, what genetics and Class A drugs could do at such a young age... almost unvelievable, if only he had Ronnie's heart and dedication. Just speechless...
Yes, but Ronnie was 100% devoted to bodybuilding, but Kevin had other things to do like music and such. I believe the dude had his time and had a lot of fun. He didnt want to win Olympia so badly, so he didnt. If he devoted himself to BB 100% like Dorian and Ronnie, he would have won. Also he had/has a torn pec. But its not so noticeable.
@@zdravkodoggo5386he did want to win mr Olympia badly. But not as bad as the others and that’s why he lost. Yea like you said if he didn’t do his music career and all that other shit and devoted 100% to bodybuilding he could’ve won a mr O. He tried to get 1st with much less work put in. He got too cocky and relied on his insane gear response to try and win.
@@lShadwSlceXlShut the fuck up lmao, I respect him more than anything for pursuing all his dreams and still crushing the Olympia
remember when you had to send mail to comment on a video? lol
Man, we're getting old!!!
Kevin, Dorian, Flex, Paul Dillet, Shawn Ray...they era inspired me to lift. Still lifting now.
I started lifting in 1999 and he was a big inspiration to my buddies and me. Even my today my triceps extensions are trash. I’ll try them this way.
Kevin was a Beast!
At this point my triceps are so fried. Just like my liver

I don't see you crying to people smoking weed and cigarettes cause they are ruining their lungs.. Jealous ass
Then go search for videos of smokers and look at the comment section. No Research ass.
Still jealous
Best tricep movement is French press all the way behind your head to stretch your long head

1. Good form
2. Heavy weight
3. Hard work
Still better advice than the "optimal science" people 💀
and steroids
Love the late 80s and early 90s film format. This reminds me of Flex Wheeler.
Absolutely insane how this guy could go from a 190lb normal dude to a yoked up 250lb ripped monster in like a year while eating junk food
@TREV HODGE yeah……. Do the exact same cycle he did, for a WHOLE YEAR (He only did a normal length cycle then came off) and then let me know if you go from 190 to 250.

@@latbeast explain.
@@bolobuddy22 it’s called steroids, no steroids means he won’t put that weight on. Which part do you not understand. Regardless of who you are, you will gain weight with steroids if your training diet and sleep are in check. The 60 pound increase is impossible without steroids. If you believe otherwise you are deluded. This is why when they come off they shrink to being average, Steroids Steroids, steroids, if it wasn’t they would stay at the same weight 😂😂😂

You haven’t a clue what cycle he used, you really think they are Open lol! Been trading 25 years, I know my shit. I’m 255 pounds all year round, gear or no gear.
The 90s were different. Only Ronnie could win in such a time. He was the only thing that could have stopped guys like Kevin
There’s no way I could start triceps with overhead dumbbell, my elbows would explode
He warmed up at the start with the triceps push downs
That’s how I warm up. Light too I don’t make it a challenge
Amazing form!

Levrone was the best. He was always peeled. His quads had enormous size and shreads in them.
I remember weighing 138lbs doing close grip bench 225lb for 5 reps and my wrist i kept 4 inches apart. Kevin made me look small at the gym but he liked my cuts. Wish i could go back in time those were the best days.
Wow, 138 and benching 225 for reps? That's pretty impressive!! How tall are you?
@@afranks8566 extremely impressive, that’s world-class. That’s a CG of 260, regular 280+.
Kevin was awesome in his prime.
Respect for Kevin!!! From Hellas.......
Time humbles everyone
I love how bodybuilders brag on hard work, but use a lot of gear. There’s work involved, but the gear’s equally on par. Most bodybuilders lose their gains after their cycle. I respect the guy less muscular without gear than the one using with a ton of muscle.
As someone who loves working out naturally, I think this happens because once you have your eating game down and the gym routine down, pushing yourself super hard, you realize that there's a limit to how much you'll grow your body. Some people who want "1 more thing to add to training routine" and get even bigger from it, it is tempting but not worth it imo. What I mean is many guys on gear are heavy into training, it's their life, so it is still heavy work.
I had quite a few friends who used gear when I was competing & they would shrink drastically when completely off. One buddy got to a hard 205 at only 5'6 & off he would be 155-160. He honestly looked his best around 180 but he won every show he entered. Another friend was 6"5 & 270 in shape. Had better legs than Ferrigno at only 21 yrs. old but not close on the upper body.Had many other friends who were life naturals & honestly the natty muscle seems to stick longer even if you quit training for a long stint. Probably because the natty guys aren't screwing around with their testosterone.
@@KCDarin
If you know what your doing before you use gear you’ll find you don’t really lose much at all when you come off, providing you keep training. Also keep your doses low
Kevin Levrone, Shawn Ray and Flex Wheeler should have won the Olympia
