    I just made them and they were so good and crunchy. All But, I think instead of 2 tbsp of oil, just one is good enough. All we have to do is follow the tutorial step by step. Good luck. Chef Rick, you made it!

    I make mine the same way. But it's murder looking for those cinnamon sticks. My hot Cocoa is a lot more thicker than the ones shown here, I make mine from scratch got the recipe from Madrid, Spain from our Spanish cook. I prefer it nice, thicker, and warmed.

    There are a lot of recipes you can use , I like boiling water with a cinnamon stick you can use a little butter instead of the oil , vanilla .

    Only Chef that cooks so authentic in Mexican cooking...all the Mexican restaurants here in the states suck, they just don’t know how to cook authentic food, what an embarrassment:( :( made your churros and chocolate, was soooo goood.

    Spanish and Mexican churros are slightly different. The Mexican version is way much better because the sugar is springled at the right time and the Mexican cinnamon is incredible they have many great different flavor fillings in the many places in Mexico. Also Mexican hot chocolate and Spanish one, wow the Mexican version is way better than the Spanish version and the US version.

      @@MoonLab_Gaming You are right.. In Spain the proportions are a cup of flour, a cup of hot water and a pinch of salt

    Actually, "churros con chocolate" is probably a Spanish dish. It's very popular in Latin American countries: Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay and others, due to the migration of spaniards.

    There is no sugar in churros dough. I'm Spanish and it always makes me laugh when they talk about churros and choux. Churros dough is equal parts flour and water, flavoured with a little salt and olive oil. You just use the little olive oil to bring the dough together. That's it. No eggs, no butter and no sugar. And the chocolate sauce is just warm milk with hot chocolate powder and chocolate chunks mixed and melted into it. And the sheep is called Churra. Not churros.

    In Spain, traditionally. Served with a ganache-like consistency chocolate to dip them in. Also, well known not to use pastry bag for these, they tend to explode in the hot oil. Very dangerous...use extruder type churro maker, like this one...plastic one Very cheap on Amazon. Forces the air out of the dough better.

    ¡Qué pena de chocolate! El churro -sin más chorradas- debe poder sostenerse de pie en la taza.

    thank you for this. I had them in Spain many years ago and have been hoping to one day be able to make them at home. :) My question is, is it possible to bake them instead, even if I have to change the dough slightly, and make them a bit thicker? thank you again :)

  • @RazuEazu

    FYI: Churros and thick hot chocolate are not necessarily "from" Mexico. Think they both originated in Spain.

    • @ashleyguerrero2752
      @ashleyguerrero2752 4 года назад +3

      Dune137 hot chocolate was an actual delicacy in pre-columbian civilization, such as the Aztecs and Mayans. Cacao was domesticated in Mesoamerica, a prime example to its connection to Mexico is that the name chocolate came from the nahuatl word xocolatl
